Scene 1: Ambulance Run
The stolen ambulance careened through Brooklyn, sirens screaming. In the back, Jason bled out on a gurney, his leg mangled from the prison escape. Lena pressed a wad of gauze to the femoral artery spurt.
"He’s crashing!"
Staria rifled through medical supplies scalpel, suture thread, vodka. No anesthesia.
"Hold him down," she ordered Lena.
Jason’s ice-blue eyes flickered open, locking onto Staria.
"Don’t... let me die... stellina," he gasped. "Not before I kill Carson."
She poured vodka over the wound. "Bite this." Shoved a leather belt between his teeth.
Scene 2: Blood Surgery
Staria cut deep.
- Sliced through fabric and flesh to find the bullet fragment.
- Jason’s roar muffled by the belt, veins bulging in his neck.
- Blood pooled on the floor, mixing with rainwater from their clothes.
Lena whispered feverishly:
"The Bleeding Star isn’t just a diamond. It’s a soul stone. Forged by a Moretti witch in 1672. It steals gifts... like yours."
She gripped Staria’s wrist. "Carson needs three things to take your power: the diamond, your blood... and Jason’s death at the moment of transfer. Midnight tonight."
Staria’s forceps clamped metal. She pulled out the bullet.
"Why Jason’s death?"
"Blood magic," Lena spat. "Your gift is tied to him. Kill the anchor... steal the power."
Scene 3: The Safe House Siege
They crashed into a derelict tattoo parlor Jason’s childhood haunt. Staria stitched his leg shut by candlelight while Lena stood guard.
Carson’s voice boomed through a PA system outside:
"Come out, Jason! Or I burn your mother’s villa in Sicily next!"
On a flickering TV: Live footage of the Moretti villa in flames.
Jason’s sanctuary. His art studio. The place he’d painted with his mother.
Jason tried to rise. "I’ll kill him"
Staria shoved him down. "You bleed out in 10 minutes if you stand!"*
She grabbed Jason’s gun. "I’ll go."
"NO!"Jason dragged her into a kiss blood, salt, and desperation. "If you die... the curse wins."
Scene 4: Lena’s Sacrifice
Lena pressed a key into Staria’s palm—a safe deposit box key taped to her thigh.
"Sicily. The church ruins. Everything you need is there."
Before Staria could react, Lena ripped off her pearl necklace revealing a cyanide capsule.
"Tell Jason... I finally chose him over the family."
Lena strode outside, arms raised.
"Carson! You want power? Take mine!"
A gunshot.
Lena crumpled. Carson’s laughter echoed.
Jason’s howl of grief shook the walls. Staria tackled him as he lunged for the door.
"She bought us time! Use it!"
Scene 5: The Church Ruins
In the moonlit ruins of a Sicilian chapel, Staria opened Lena’s box:
- Sofia’s diary ("Carson fears fire—burns his forgeries when angry...")
- A 17th-century witch’s grimoire (spell to shatter the Bleeding Star)
- A necklace with lockets of Jason and Staria’s hair ("Blood anchor against the stone")
Staria read the grimoire aloud:
"To break the stone, drown its heart in the creator’s blood..."
Footsteps. Carson emerged from shadows, holding the Bleeding Star. It pulsed like a diseased heart.
"Touching. But you’re too late." He raised a dagger. "Midnight’s here."
Behind him, two thugs dragged a beaten Jason.
Cliffhanger: The Ritual
Carson slashed Staria’s palm, pressing her bleeding hand to the diamond. It glowed crimson.
"With your blood... I take your sight."
He aimed a gun at Jason’s head.
"With his death... I make it mine."
Jason spat blood. "Look up, fratello."
Above them
Staria’s last painting, nailed to the chapel rafters hours earlier:
Carson engulfed in flames, the diamond melting in his hands.
As the clock struck 12, fire rained from the ceiling.
