Baby Boy

Chapter 2

Zak's POV

I woke up more refreshed than usual and looked to my right at the clock on the bedside table. "8:47" I got out of bed slowly and walked over to the bathroom before stepping into the steamy shower.

30 Minutes Later

No ones's POV

Kai slowly woke up to the sounds of Zak's cooking and turned away, but what he didn't  know was that turning over caused him to tumble off the bed and hurt his hand on a loose nail. As the thick dark red liquid fell down his arm, ear piercing cries let out of his mouth, causing Zak to turn the stove off and rush upstairs. Zak met Violet on the way, assuming she heard Kai's cries as well. 

"You start the car and I'll get Kai" Zak told her and she followed. I slowly picked Kai up and ran out to the car and got in before cuddling Kai while slowly rocking him back and forth. This seemed to calm him down enough to let Violet drive almost at full speed to the hospital. Upon arriving, I ran into the doors and straight to the reception. 

"Excuse me, my son has hurt himself badly on a nail and I need urgent assistance." Zak anxiously said

"What's his name and birth?"

"Kai Williams, december 8th 2004,"

"Room 14a,"

"Thank you," Violet said before rushing off to catch up with Zak. She knocked on the door and Dr. Lang opened the door and let them in.

"So what seems to be the problem?"

"Kai cut himself on a loose nail,"

"And how bad is it?"

"It bledout alot but it's a small cut," Dr. Lang nodded, occasionally writing stuff in his notebook.

"And what did you do to help the injury?"

"Well since Kai was panicking alot and the first aid kit wasn't close by, I wet a paper towel, put it over the wound and applied pressure to it." 

"Ok, well Kai, I need you to hop up onto this table so I can check out your arm, ok?" Kai nodded and climbed on the table before holding out his arm to the doctor. Dr. Lang examined his arm thoroughly before cleaning it and placing a piece of cotton over the wound and wrapping it in a bandage. 

"His arm is ok, just let the wound heal up for a few weeks before taking the bandage off," Zak nodded and said his thanks before leaving the hospital and entering the car. 

On the way, Kai fell asleep and the silence was broken by the conversation between Violet and Zak. "So this whole regression thing has really taken a toll on him," Violet asked.

"I guess so."

"Maybe we'll need to start baby proofing the whole house," both Violet and Zak slightly chuckle at the comment.

"I'll look online for some things when we get home." The next 5 minutes of the trip were filled with silence.

Violet pulled up in the driveway and opened the car and front door for Zak, who was carrying a sleeping Kai. Zak set him down in his bed while he left the room to do some shopping.

1 Hour Later 

Zak had finally finished his shopping and ordered some bed rails, diapers, a changing table, some pacifiers, a play mat and some toys for Kai to play with. He entered his room and cuddled with his lover. 

A little while later, Kai entered the room, tears in his eyes.

"What's wrong buddy?" Zak asked,

"I-I had a nightmare, c-can I sleep with y-you?"

"Of course you can buddy," Zak patted the space between Violet and him as Kai jumped in and cuddled with him before they both fell asleep.
