My life

*** Cassie’s point of view**** I sit up in bed stretching with both of my arms going the opposite direction of each other. Today is the big day for two reasons. I have a business by the name of “Lost?”. This is a solo company, meaning I am the only employee working for it. There are a lot of people who lose very important things and people, whether it is highly expensive or priceless. Yea I know tomato, tomahto. Different people contact me on my company email address for many of things. I have had people contact me about pets, cars, small items, artifacts, and yes even other people. My life is great and I do not take any thing for granted. I am a very humble caring person. My life has not always been like this. I grew up not knowing my family, nothing at all about my child hood for that fact. I was wondering the streets, when I came up on a police station. A female officer, Ms. Chang, saw me and motioned for me to come in and talk to her. She asked me where did I come from, where is my family, where do I live, and why do I have blood covering me from head to toe. I looked at her and said I do not know. She covered me in a blanket. She told me she is taking me to the hospital. The hospital checked me out. I turned out to be perfectly healthy. The dried up blood all over my body was not mines at all. Ms. Chang stayed by my side comforting me through the whole check up. I told her I wanted her to stay because I felt safe and warm around her. She asked the doctor, Mrs. Boyd, to run my blood and also the blood that was on me to see if she could get some answers. The doctor told her she has already done that. She said it belonged to two unregistered “humans”. She also said my blood work came back normal and registered as Cassidy Manson. She ran all Manson’s blood that was registered, but my blood did not match any one of them. The doctor told Ms. Chang that the weirdest thing about my paper work was that from birth, I have not had a parent or guardian name signed on any of them. All the papers were signed with an “X”. Ms. Chang jumped up and led Mrs. Boyd outside the door. I could hear them whispering, but I could not make out what they were saying. At that moment, a woman by the name of Ms. Shawn came in my room and started telling me she was about to take me to a foster care center for the time being. She gave me a pair of clothes and instructed me to get dressed. When I had all my clothes on, I gave her the “ok” to turn around. We both headed outside my door when Ms. Chang stopped me. She had the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. “I will see you in a couple of days sweet heart. I have to check out your paper work and see who your relatives are. Would you like that?”, she asked me. “No I would not. I survived with out them, for god knows how long. Why would I need them now? I will only have two years until I age out of foster care. Then I would be eighteen and very capable of making my own decisions.”, I say to her. She had a sad expression on her face. “Ok hunny, that leaves me two years to find any information I can about them. At any time you are ready to know anything about your relatives, here is my card with my personal number on it. You can call me any time, any day.”, Ms. Chang said while she gave me her black and white fancy business card. Ms. Shawn led me to the car. We drove to a fast food restaurant to get something to eat. After eating, we headed to the foster care center to get some rest. The next day was very eventful. The center enrolled me in school. Not to be mean or rude, but I felt as though there was no need for me to go to school. In my mind I was already smarter than any body I knew.
