Brittany Shepherd kept Sergeant Simons under her watchful eye, assigning him some paperwork and analysis tasks. She felt giddy, like a schoolgirl in love. After all, four years had passed since her last serious relationship. Nothing but a cuddle of condolences had occurred between them, but she had felt the shared electricity.
