Chapter3

1524 Words
It was really my turn to go, because I was his sister, but in the end it wasn't. Leo's cell phone had two sisters in the notes, respectively, "sister 1" and "sister 2". One was his own sister, that is, I, and the other was Lilia, because Lilia and I were best friends, so there was this note. But it just so happened that day I was taking a test, and my cell phone was off, and Leo dialed the wrong number and called Lilia. Lilia got the call and went there, and I don't know exactly what happened. Except that by the time I came out of the exam, she had been taken to the hospital. Leo told me, at that time someone wanted to molest her. Leo protected her, but the man then took a broken bottle to stab him. And Lilia, in order to save him, helped him block ... This incident has always been the deepest pain in our siblings' hearts. Angus hates us for it because that was the sister he grew up with. "I haven't forgotten it. Leo and I have wronged her, and many times I wished I could have died in her place. But I can't do it anymore, and it pains me." I said. Angus, however, said to me, "But it was kind of hard to watch you marry someone else like that, and I wondered if I shouldn't keep you with me. Otherwise, Heaslet, if you beg me, maybe I'll agree to marry you and naturally save your brother." he said. I was shocked. How could Angus want me to marry him? He hated me more than he could say. Sure enough, when he saw me like this, he snorted coldly, "What you and your brother owe Lilia, I'm going to ask for it back little by little." My heart was desolate. At that time, I already understood in my heart that he was not going to let me go in this life. Time seemed to stand still for a long time. My heart was already numb. I heard myself say, "I'll break up with Leonard and marry you. I just hope that what you promised me can be done, and make sure that Leo is safe and sound." "Did I promise to marry you?" He laughed. "Please." I plead with tears in my eyes. Then I hugged him and buried my head in his chest. However, he walks away from me and says, "Heaslet, you're always such a smart a*s. Do you think I'm going to be interested in you just because you're like this?" I started to undo my own clothes. Angus looked at me a little incredulously, not knowing how he had suddenly moved to anger. He reached out and yanked on my hair. "That's enough! Are you that lowly that you want me to do you so badly?" Almost through gritted teeth, he said, "Well then, Heaslet, you asked for it, and I'll make it happen!" There was a sudden clap of thunder outside the window. The two bodies on the bed were tangled in an unrelenting tangle. I watched, my eyes dulled, as the lavish crystal lights on the ceiling faded into a blur. A haze of tears, I seem to see two selves. A fast and free I died in the past, a slowly rotting I stuck in the future ... The bathroom was filled with water mist. We soaked in the water. The water was obviously hot, but it made people feel cold for no reason. Everything. All had a kind of illusion and unreal sense of wanting to cover up. Behind it was heartache and resentment. When my car drove into the yard, a maid with an umbrella ran over to open the door for me. She followed me into the house and said, "Heaslet, you forgot your cell phone, didn't you? Angus just called the house and said to call him back when you get back." I let out a "hmmm" and sure enough there were two missed calls from Angus on my cell phone. But I was in a bad mood and didn't want to call back. Not long after, Maya, the babysitter, came up the stairs in a bit of a hurry. She knocked on the door and said, "MADAM, Angus asked if you were back yet, and you haven't called him back yet?" "Oh, I forgot. Why don't you hang up and I'll call him." I said. He picked up rather quickly. As soon as he did, he growled, "The most beautiful, ladylike daughter-in-law of the Adams family, why do you always procrastinate when you're told to do something?" "A few minutes delay won't kill you. Of course, if you're really at the point where your life hangs in the balance, I'll delay even more." I said. I was a little surprised, because Angus is such a domineering, cold and ruthless person. It really does not look like the kind of student who has a close relationship with the teacher, and it is not the kind of image of a good student who traditionally listens to what he is told to do. He warned me on the other end of the line, "Naturally, you can't wait to grow up and embarrass me, but I'll say this up front, if you embarrass me, I'll embarrass your brother, remember that." I was so angry that I slammed the phone down, but I still managed to calm myself down. I finally changed into my social clothes, put on some light makeup, and fixed my hair to wait for the driver to pick me up. A car light flashed in the yard. I looked at the time and walked downstairs. I thought he had sent someone over to pick me up, but the one sitting in the driver's seat was himself. Just as I was about to pull open the backseat door and sit in, the front window slid down and Angus looked at me and said, "Sit in the front. I'm driving and you're sitting in the back too. Am I your chauffeur?" I didn't bother to argue with him and resentfully sat in the front. There was an old song playing on the stereo, and he was humming along while driving. I could tell he was in a good mood. I couldn't help but ask him, "Who are you meeting today? I don't usually see you this active." "My high school teacher and his wife, who moved to another state before, happened to return two days ago, along with a few other classmates. That teacher of mine even said he wanted to meet you." He glanced at me, "Don't take what you were warned about before as falling on deaf ears. Just don't say anything if I say something in a while or I'll have your ass." I let out a "cut", but in my heart, I was a little surprised. We got there a little late and the others had already arrived. There was indeed an elderly couple present, looking to be in their fifties or sixties and in good spirits. Angus saw them and hugged them warmly. He was a person who had always been arrogant as hell, and spoke to unusual people in a loving manner. So such a good attitude was a rare sight. Those two people looked at him and laughed. Angus turned his head to look at me. "Heaslet, what are you waiting for?" he said. I hurriedly followed up and hugged the two old men and introduced myself, while learning their names from the old men - Riley. Mrs. Riley got up and came over to me and took my hand, looked me over and seemed pleased, nodding her head "yes" all the time and throwing question after question at me, which I didn't mind because most of them were very kind. Mrs. Riley added to Angus, "You have a good eye for such a beautiful wife. Your name is Heaslet?" I nodded my head. I lowered my head a little blushing at her compliment. After marrying Angus, this was the first time I was complimented by his elders. I blushed a little, but Angus laughed, "Madama, you're underestimating me too much, this is the wife I personally searched for. Could it not be beautiful?" Angus even wrapped his arms around my waist while saying that. To outsiders, we were very affectionate. A sneer ran through me, I wanted to show the brilliant irony on my face. This was not an everyday scene of our life together. But I couldn't ignore his earlier warning and had to hang on to a grin and keep quiet, even though I was a hundred times more reluctant. Angus went on to say to me, "When I told my teachers on the phone earlier that I was married, they didn't believe me and told me to make sure I brought you over to see me." The friend next to him interjected, "You still have the nerve to say that you got married without telling us old friends, what a heartless guy."
