Swinging Into Feelings

891 Words
Julia stands in front of the mirror, adjusting her golf uniform with a mix of excitement and nerves. She's wearing a sleek white polo shirt with a fitted skirt and matching visor, and her hair tied back in a ponytail. She decides to make a video call to Sophia and ask her advice. 'Sophia and Rachel, how do I look, she said taking a 360-degree turn. 'You don't look bad, replied Sophia. 'Where did you get those clothes from, said Rachel putting her face closer to the camera to have a good view of Julia. 'I just bought them, replied Julia. ' But does it look nice on me, asked Julia again. 'Yes, Julia, trust me, you look great in it; I wish you good luck, said Sophia. 'Love you, Sophia, I know I could count on you to make me feel confident, said Julia. 'So where would you meet him, asked Rachel. 'I'll be meeting Ethan at the prestigious Oakwood Country Club, Julia answered. 'Tell Jaxon that Rachel misses him since he will be there also, said Rachel. 'I'm going to meet Ethan, not Jaxon, said Julia. I do not want to be late, so I'm going already; see you guys later, said Julia, and she hung up the video call. As she arrives at the club in her car, Julia is greeted by the elegant entrance and manicured lawns. 'I see why it is called prestigious, thought Julia noticing the high-profile people there. She hears someone call her name from behind, she turns back to see who called her name, and lo and behold, it was Jaxon. 'What are you doing here, Julia? You hate golf, said Jaxon with a mischievous grin playing at the corner of his lips. 'That's none of your business, and I didn't come here to see you; moreover, I just decided to try something new, said Julia, swinging her club at Jaxon's face. 'Also, your girlfriend misses you, said Julia, 'My baby girl, how is she doing, asked Jaxon. 'Don't ask me such questions, you talked to her just this morning, said Julia. 'Julia, you look stunning, said Ethan as he walked up to them, his voice sincere and appreciative. Julia's heart skipped a beat as she felt a blush rise to her cheeks. Jaxon was about to say something when Julia used her club to playfully hit him on his leg. 'I will leave you two, Jaxon said and left. 'Thanks, Ethan, she replies trying to sound casual despite her growing excitement. 'You look dashing, she added. Ethan chuckles and offers his arm, which Julia takes, feeling a spark of electricity as their hands touch. As they walk, Ethan continues to chat asking Julia lots of questions. Julia finds herself feeling more at ease around Ethan. When they reach the first tee, Ethan turns to her and says, 'Ladies first, Julia smiles, takes a deep breath, and swings her club with confidence, but unfortunately, she hits the ground behind the ball, resulting in a chunked shot. The ball rolls a mere twenty yards, barely making it out of the tee box, The ball comes to rest in a sand trap, nestled among the tall grass and rough terrain. Julia sighed in annoyance, 'You can always try again, keep it up, encouraged Ethan. Julia takes her next shot, but unfortunately, it's another misfire. This time, she hits the ball with the head of the club, causing it to slice sharply to the right. The ball soars over the trees, landing with a splash in the nearby water hazard. 'Ethan, I've to confess.....I've never actually played golf before, she admits sheepishly. Ethan's expression changes from surprise to delight. 'Well in that case, do you mind if I teach you, he says, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. Julia laughs, feeling a bit more at ease, 'Okay, but don't expect too much, I'm probably going to be terrible. Ethan takes her hand, leading her to the driving range. 'It doesn't matter, as long as you have fun. First things first, let's get your grip right. As they walk to the next hole, Ethan reaches out and gently takes Julia's hand, his fingers intertwining with hers in a warm and comforting grasp. 'Let's try a different grip, he says his eyes sparkling with amusement. 'Sometimes, a little guidance can make all the difference. Julia's heart skips a beat as she feels a jolt of electricity run through her body. She can't believe how natural it feels to have Ethan's hand wrapped around her, his touch sending shivers down her spine. She feels a sense of connection that she can't ignore. She looks at Ethan, admiring his features, his chiseled jawline, prominent cheekbones, bright... 'Okay, now try swinging Ethan says, his voice low and gentle bringing Julia back to her present state. Julia nods, still feeling a little dazed, and takes a swing. To her surprise, the ball soars through the air, landing with a soft thud on the green. Ethan grins, his eyes crinkling at the corners. 'See, I told you it would work. Julia beams, feeling elated. 'Thanks to you, she says her voice barely above a whisper. As they continue playing, hands touching, Julia knows she's in trouble. She is falling for Ethan hard and she can't help but wonder if he feels the same way.
