EPISODE 7: THE SHADOW BEHIND THE BEAST

887 Words
Even monsters… can feel fear. Life in prison went on. Li Do Hwan kept his distance from everyone. He didn't trust anyone. He didn't need anyone. Except… one person. Kim Do. The only inmate around his age. Quiet. Observant. Different. Sometimes… they spoke. Short conversations. Careful words. "Have you been here long?" Li Do Hwan asked one day. The boy paused before answering. "My name is Kim Do… and no, I haven't been here for long." Li Do Hwan studied him for a moment. "Did he… do the same things to you?" Kim Do looked at him calmly. "You mean The Beast?" "…Yeah." A brief silence. Then— "No. He can't do that to me." Li Do Hwan frowned. "Why? Why doesn't he touch you?" Kim Do looked away. "I can't tell you… I'm sorry." That answer wasn't enough. "There has to be at least one person here who isn't afraid of him… right?" Kim Do stayed silent for a few seconds. Then slowly nodded. "Yes… there is." Li Do Hwan's eyes lit up. "Really? Who is it? Please—tell me." Kim Do's voice turned firm. "I can't." That night… Everyone was asleep. But Li Do Hwan couldn't. He lay on his back, staring at the ceiling. "What is my mother doing right now…?" "Is she… thinking about me?" His eyes were filled with quiet pain. Then— A sound. Movement in the room. It was Kim Do. Li Do Hwan quickly closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep. Through barely open lashes, he watched. Kim Do held a small light. He checked each inmate… one by one. Carefully. Silently. Making sure— Everyone was asleep. Then he moved. Slow steps. Light as air. And left the room. Li Do Hwan opened his eyes. Confusion. Suspicion. "Where is he going…?" He didn't sleep that night. Not even for a second. Near dawn— Kim Do returned. Quietly. As if nothing had happened. He lay down… and fell asleep. At that moment— Li Do Hwan understood something. There was a secret. Something hidden in this prison. And he made a decision. He would uncover it. Days passed. Strangely… Everything became quiet. Even The Beast. He had changed. He no longer laughed loudly. He no longer mocked others. He no longer picked fights. It was as if… He was holding himself back. As if… He was afraid of something. The prisoners noticed. But no one dared to question it. Because no matter what— He was still The Beast. And it was safer… to stay away. Dinner time. The inmates lined up. One by one, they took their food. When it was Li Do Hwan's turn… Only one man stood in front of him. An older inmate. He had just taken his tray— When suddenly— It slipped from his hands. Food scattered across the floor. Li Do Hwan stepped forward immediately. "Do you need help, sir?" A guard shouted: "Clean up your own mess!" But Li Do Hwan spoke calmly— "I'll take care of it." The older man looked at him. Surprised. Grateful. "…Thank you." Li Do Hwan cleaned the floor. Then they brought fresh food. For both of them. He placed the tray down. The man gestured gently— "Come. Sit with me." They ate together. In silence. But something felt… different. The other prisoners were watching. Their eyes filled with curiosity. And something else— unease. A few days passed. Kim Do still disappears every night. And returned at dawn. The mystery grew deeper. Then one day— Everything changed again. The atmosphere turned heavy. Dark. Oppressive. The Beast had returned to his old self. Loud. Cruel. Unpredictable. Laundry room. Li Do Hwan was working. Beside him stood another young inmate. "What's your name?" Li Do Hwan asked. "Jang Si Woo," the boy replied with a friendly smile. "And you?" "Li Do Hwan." Jang Si Woo seemed open. Kind. Quick. They talked as they worked. Then— The air shifted. Silence fell. The door opened. The Beast walked in. His men followed. Like shadows. "Hey… you." He pointed at Jang Si Woo. "Yes… sir…" "Bring water. Wash my feet." Without hesitation— Jang Si Woo obeyed. He knelt. And began washing. The Beast looked at Li Do Hwan. "If you don't obey… it gets worse." When it was done— The Beast smiled. Cruel. Disgusting. "Now… drink it." The room froze. Jang Si Woo trembled. "I'm sorry… I can't…" That was enough. The Beast gave a small signal. His men moved instantly. They grabbed him. And then— Li Do Hwan stepped in. He couldn't stay still anymore. He attacked. Fought back. With everything he had. But they were too many. They restrained both of them. Dragged them forward. Forced them to kneel. "Bring that dirty water," The Beast said. "Make them both drink." Li Do Hwan struggled. Fought. Refused. "I'd rather die…" Then— A voice. "STOP." Loud. Cold. Absolute. The entire room froze. Even The Beast— went pale. His eyes widened. For the first time— He looked afraid. Li Do Hwan's heart pounded. "Who… is that…?" Whoever stood behind them… Was no ordinary man. If even the Beast is afraid… Then the real ruler hasn't stepped forward yet. #Black Leopard #The Beast #PrisonStory #DarkPlot #Survival #PowerShift #ViralStory #PlotTwist
