chapter 6, The Awakening

Aisha's mind was a whirlwind of emotions as she stared at Ethan, her heart racing with a mix of shock and confusion. The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in around her as she struggled to breathe.

Ethan's eyes never left hers, the intensity of his gaze burning like a fire that threatened to consume her. She saw the apology in his eyes, the regret, and something else – something that made her heart skip a beat.

Aisha felt a spark of electricity run through her body, like a jolt of awakening. It was as if she had been sleepwalking through her life, and suddenly, she was awake, her senses on high alert.

She tried to speak, but her voice was trapped in her throat. Ethan's eyes seemed to understand, his lips curving into a gentle smile.

"Aisha," he whispered, his voice like a caress. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for what I did to you."

Aisha felt a shiver run down her spine as Ethan's words washed over her. She wanted to believe him, to trust him, but the fear of being hurt again held her back.

Ethan seemed to sense her hesitation, his eyes filling with a deep longing. "I know I don't deserve it, but I want to make it right, Aisha. I want to make us right."

Us. The word hung in the air like a challenge, making Aisha's heart race with anticipation. She didn't know what "us" meant, but she knew she couldn't ignore the spark of attraction between them.

As the silence stretched out, Aisha felt her body leaning towards Ethan, her lips parting in response to the magnetic pull behind them, the air was charged with tension , the only sound was the cracking of the fire and the beating of their heart,

Ethan's eyes darken and his pupil dilating as he leaned in, his lips inches from hers Aisha heart was racing, her body in fire , as she waited for the inevitable

and then how phone rang shattering the moment like a broken glass dropped on the floor

Aisha jumped back, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as Ethan cursed under his breath , he pulled out his phone his eyes never leaving her, and answered the call.

Aisha took the moment to collect her self her mind racing with thought and emotions . she couldn't believe she was attracted to Ethan the man who used her as a surrogate with her knowledge or consent .

But as she looked into his eyes, she saw something there that made her heart to skip a beat , something that made her wonder if maybe just maybe the is more to Ethan's Carter than meet the eyes
