Chapter Ten The c**k crowed thrice, but it didn’t wake Marl. Raina’s scream for the rooster to “shut it,” did the trick, though. Callista was ready. She looked the part of a competent archer. She wore leather armor, her bow over her shoulder, and a look of mocking triumph that was going to grate on Marl’s nerves until mid-day. To her credit, though, she had gotten his horse ready, too.
