“Thanks, but I really don’t have any reason to go home.” Then he grinned. “Tell ya what. I’m gonna call and see if Gary’s free for lunch. I’ll stop by here before I go home.” “Say hi to Gary for me.” After Jerome left, I went into Jean’s office to get something. As usual, I glanced at the monitors. I noted that Judd had arrived and that he and Louis were sitting together at the reception desk, apparently poring over a book. The camera was behind and above them, so I could see them as well as the main entrance, which the desk faced. Something about them appeared strange, so I looked again. They did indeed have a book spread out on the desk, but each had his hand in the other’s lap. No one who came in the door could tell what they were doing because the desk hid them.
