Chapter 8I took Stuart’s call in my office so Jean couldn’t overhear. I told him that I was really sorry I’d hurt him, that I could see we’d not been on the same page in our relationship, and that I wanted to get together with him to talk about it all. I assured him he was important to me and that I’d worried about him.
He apologized for not getting back to me sooner but said he’d needed time to think, and then when Monday came, he’d been busy with school things. He mentioned without my asking that Frank Cummings had been at his house the previous evening to put together plans for starting a GSA group at Stafford High.
