A naive young woman, she had stepped out of her home, her safe haven, for the very first time. He had never had a home, let alone a haven. But he understood what she needed in a foreign land. He showered her with compassion and empathy. His embrace was warm and snug. She felt protected and loved when he was around.

He secretly loved the feminine attention, human connection and normalcy that she brought to his life. He felt centred and secure.

But the very man who had stood by her, come rain or shine, had turned out to be her nemesis. Would he ravage and humiliate her? How would he use, or maybe abuse, her compromising photographs? Or would he respect the bond he had shared with her? However short.

She knew somewhere deep down that he had loved her with all his heart. But what was it that pulled him away from her?
