Anesha's Version I hurried back to the couch to my daughter. "Did you fix it mother?" She asked hoping that I came to her rescue as a mother should. "Shh! The king is coming" I tried to keep her shut. "..but what..." I cut her short. "Just shut up!" William's Version I walked on them, Mary shushing Anesha. I knew something was up! "Why should she shut up?" asked. Mary laughed a bit "No darling. It's girls stuff." she said. Anesha: What? But mom...? Mary: Shhh! "What's the matter Mary?" I asked her. "No dear it's..." I interupted her in the process of more of her lies. "Lie to me again." Mary became scared and just gazed at in a strange way she never did before. It was almost like she felt I could hurt her in any way. I don't know. "My daughter, Cain told me about the incident at the rasturant." "Yes that's what she was telling me about before you came in, I wanted to talk to you about it." Mary interfered. "Speak!" I demanded "Darling, we can't let our daughter marry such a man. Please let her find her own groom." she explained. Anesha: Yes father. I don't think Cain the right man for me coz already he has a child coming his way. I'm not ready to play stepmom and I wouldn't want another woman doing ups and downs in my own house. Mary: Yes your majesty. Our daughter needs a man who will treat her like a queen she is, not to be stressed by an unfaithful husband. Who knows maybe he has more other women who are pregnant our there. Anesha: Yes daddy it is possible. And I feel like he doesn't respect me and he is a liar. He will always lie to me. Mary: She will always be stressed in that marriage. Anesha: And I'll end up being depressed. Mary: Then she will start being crazy and never be the same again. Anesha: Then I'll start walking around picking dirty plastics and eat. It will ruin your reputation daddy. Mary: And on the streets there's cars running around and drunkards who will want to take an advantage of her or be hit by a car. Anesha: and die! Oh mother! Crying and leaning towards her mother's shoulder. Mary: it's gonna be okay princess, daddy will fix it. "Okay okay okay! Are you done with your pathetic show?" I asked. I knew that Anesha didn't want to marry into the Mountbatten kingdom but I had one prize I had to get no matter what. I had to be strong and use my brain not my heart. if it was under other circumstances I wouldn't let her marry him. "The child is hurting. Who can you say that?" Mary asked. Her looks towards were different, she had never looked at me that way before. Was this still about her daughter or something else? I asked myself. " 'The Child' needs to toughen up because she's marrying the prince in a few days to come. And that's final" Mary's Version The king left while we were still shocked by his words. *Mother, what just happened? Did he hear everything we told him?" My princess was amazed by her father's reaction but I started to get why the King is forcing my daughter to marry Cain. "He heard us, but he's mind is already made up" I said. "What do you mean?" "Listen, go and freshen up. I'll talk to him." "But..." "Don't stress yourself." I insisted "Okay, I hear you!" She got up and left. Who is this man? What am I sleeping with at night? What am I eating meals with? I didn't marry a murderer of unborn children at that! God what are you showing me in this world? How do I tell my daughter that her father have sold her off? but then I don't have to tell her that, I'll fix William! He won't mess with my daughter's life on my watch because of his selfish benefits. Over my dead body! Chapter 5 Anesha's Version I was still fast asleep when my two favourite birds showed up. They burged in my bedroom loud and wild as always! Jennifer: Nesh! Your highness! Rose: Look who's here! I woke up and stretched myself as always. Jennifer: Come on girl, wake up (she spreads the curtains wide) Anesha: I hate that, you are just like mother! (Grumply) Rose came to bed and uncover me the blankets. She grabbed my hand out of bed and push me to the bathroom. The three of us undressed and showered together. Coming from the shower, we came out covering ourselves with towels and went to the make up mirror and played together while drying our wet hair. Mary's Version I woke up in the morning and decided to go to Anesha's room to check on her, I opened her door and see her, Rose and Jennifer playing and hairdryers making noise and the room messed up. But when I saw Anesha happy I smiled and closed the door without any of them seeing me then she left. Anesha's Version Evans the head chef of the palace came to my room to check what I'd like to have for breakfast that morning. Rose always crashed on him. Evans: (knocks at the door) Anesha: it must be mother. Rose: I'll get it. (She went to open the door) Hi! Evans: Is the princess in? Rose stood there starring Evans straight in the eyes while smiling. Evans: Miss, are you okay? Anesha: Who is it? Rose? After no response, I stood up and went to the door. Anesha: Oh Evans. Good morning! Evans: Your highness. What would you like to eat for breakfast this morning? Anesha: Girls, what can we eat for breakfast? I shouted. Jennifer: Anything is fine by me. Don't know about Rose. Anesha: Rose? Rose? Rose was still fantasising about Evans. Till I poked her. Anesha: Rose? Rose: Oh it's delicious. I can't wait to taste it (her eyes on Evans) Anesha: Mhm. What is that? Rose: Whatever we're having for breakfast. Anesha: Evans, can you please prepare us the usual? Evans: As it pleases you, princess? Jennifer: Nesh, can we have a bottle of champagne for starters? Anesha: For now just bring us a bottle of wine. (Telling Evans) Evans: Coming now. Rose: Oh I'll be waiting for you here on this door when you bring the wine. Evans left. I left Rose at the door and go back to the mirror. Anesha: OMG! Jennifer, Rose has got it so bad! We both laughed Rose: Guys, you can't blame me. The guy is hot and i won't mess up my opportunity to touch those muscles, grr! Jennifer and I bursts in laughter. Jennifer: Oh my word! Rose you looked like a puppy. Rose: He wants me too, he can't deny that. Evans: I'm back, ma'am! Rose's heart almost stopped. Rose: Oh I knew you'll be back. Evans: Here's the wine and the glasses. Rose: Thank you! You're sweet. Evans left. Jennifer: (laughing) This is so embarrassing Rose! Rose: You're just jealous Jennifer. Jennifer: For what?! Rose: Because he chose me not you. Jennifer: (laughing) are you serious? You're not even dating yet. Rose: Yes "Yet" Jennifer: You're worse. Please pour us some wine Mrs Head Chef. Rose: With pleasure! Rose handed us each a glass and pour the wine in each of it. Rose: A toast to Anesha and her richest fiance in the country! Jennifer: Cheers! Anesha: (just smiled) We all took a sip Rose: And and and... a toast to me and my hunk of a chef! Jennifer: Oh woo! Cheers! Anesha: Cheers! They then continued drinking while styling our hair and putting on clown make ups on our faces and do dress up with my clothes. Evans sent one of the chefs to bring food in the room and when Rose opened up the door she found a total different person bringing the food. We all sat on the bed and ate our breakfast and halfway to finishing their wine. Jennifer: So friend (Nesh) you're really getting married. Rose: We've come a long way guys. It's time to grow up and settle. Anesha: I'm not happy guys. As much as I tried hiding it, it was a lot to take. Jennifer: what do you mean? Rose: What is she talking about? Anesha: There's a lot that's happening babes! Jennifer: Oh sweety, it's wedding jitters. Are you getting cold feet? Anesha: It's more than that. Rose: Nesh, you're getting married to the most handsome and wealthy man in the country. Every girl's dream, how can you not be happy? There we go again, Rose always thought that happiness is money! Love is money! Anesha: but I don't love him. Rose: You've got to be kidding me! Jennifer: Rose please! Anesha: There's another! Rose: Another what? Anesha: I'm in love with someone else. Jennifer: Oh sweety! (Rubbing my back) Rose: So he's richer than Cain? Anesha: No Rose: Richer like him? Anesha: No Rose: Half richer? Anesha: No Rose: quarter...? Anesha: No. Rose: Oh my goodness Anesha! So he's poor? Anesha: No! His love for me is my wealth! Rose: God! I didn't hear that. Jennifer: Oh Rose cut the crap. Rose: What? Jennifer: Just stop it. Rose: No I won't Jen. She can't leave the richest prince just to marry a poor one just because she has "feelings" or "love". Sorry darling but love doesn't pay the bills. Jennifer: Can we let her make her own decisions? Rose: No! Jennifer we can't let that happen. Jennifer: What do you mean? Rose: I can't have a friend who is poor! Jennifer: Did you just say that? Rose: You heard me. Jennifer: Wow! Are you married? Rose: You know the answer to that Jennifer and when I do, I won't marry a poor like our beloved friend here. Anesha: Girls I'm still here! Rose has always been a cow! Rose: Nesh darling. Just find a way to get rid of those feelings and the love you have for this other man, okay? Anesha: Let's just drop this topic, it's getting traumatizing. Rose: You're right I'm traumatized already I need more wine. Anesha: Then let's get more wine. Jennifer: I think I wanted champagne in the first place. I don't know how we ended up with a wine. It's Rose's fault. Rose: Don't start with me! You told Nesh. Anesha: I must have made the wrong order. Rose: Poverty is traumatizing you already. Anesha: Rose! Can you shut up! Rose: I'm sorry that came out wrong, group up? Jennifer: Group hug. Anesha: That's what I need. And we leaned towards each other and hugged. Rose: I'll go get another bottle of wine. Jennifer: It's champagne Rose. Rose: Oh yeah. And I get to see my man Jennifer and I laughed. Rose left. Anesha: The worse part about the other man is that he's a commoner! Jennifer: Amen. Anesha: What do I do babe? Jennifer: I'd advise you to go ahead with the wedding. I'm afraid but Rose is right, love doesn't pay the bills. Being Cain's wife makes you a queen, your son will be king and rule one day so as your daughter. You'll get everything you need, it'll grant you more opportunities and you'll be whatever you want in this world. Please think about it clearly. Anesha: I think you're right. But I knew she was wrong. Jennifer: When it gets hot I'll always be there to cool it down, ok? Anesha: Thank you so much Jen. Jennifer: That's what friends are for. We hugged! Rose opened the door while reading a newspaper article without the champagne? Rose: Dolls! People are so cruel out there. Jennifer: What happened? Anesha: What's the matter? Rose: Guys, a body of a pregnant woman was found last night in the bush. Anesha's heart skipped a beat. Jennifer: What? Rose: She was brutally killed Jen! Anesha: Can I see? Rose brought the newspaper in the bed for Jennifer and I to see. I recognised the woman! Jennifer: People are wicked. Who can kill a heavily pregnant woman like a chicken. We all went silent for a minute. Jennifer: Oh well. I'm glad that I still have you both alive. Rose: I think the killer is still in town and still lying to women telling them that he loves them. And I think it's the very same man who Nesh think is in love in with. Anesha: No! Jennifer: Oh wow! Rose you don't even make sense. Are you mad? Rose: Sorry but don't say I didn't warn you. Jennifer: Where is the champagne? Rose: oh sorry I'll go get it. Rose ran to the kitchen again. I started having a panic attack, breathing heavily. Jennifer: Babe don't let Rose mess with your mind. Anesha: It's Cain! Jennifer: What are you saying sweetheart. Anesha: The woman, Cain, the pregnancy (breathing heavily) Jennifer: Okay okay, breathe! In... and out. In... Out... Good you're doing so well. Anesha: I'm calm. Thank you! Jennifer: What were you saying? Anesha: Last night at dinner where Cain took me at the restaurant. That pregnant lady arrived and made a scene. I made sure that Cain knew I can't marry him anymore. Jennifer: Are you sure it's her? Anesha: Yes Jennifer! And it's my fault (began to cry) Jennifer leaned on me and hugged me. Jennifer: No no no sweetheart. It's not your fault. There have to be a misunderstanding. Anesha: I'm a murderer Jen! Jennifer: No sweetheart, no! Look, the police will catch the killer. It can't be Cain it's just a coincidence. Anesha! Jen! The police can't touch Cain. Why doesn't it surprise you that her scene on the dinner is not mentioned? Huh? Jennifer let's go of me and stood up. Jennifer: Oh my God! (Shocked) Anesha: You believe me now! Jennifer knoded. Door opening Rose: I come back! (Exciting) And she finds an unpleasant mood in the room. Rose: What happened? Nesh why are you crying? Jen why do you look like you've seen the ghost? Anesha: Um, the thing is... Jennifer: Nothing! It's nothing. Nothing is wrong Rose. We just need the champagne. Anesha: Yeah we need it. Rose looked at her hands and realise that she's got no champagne then she smiled. Jennifer: Damn you Rose! Rose: I'm sorry I'm gonna get it now for real. Jennifer: What the hell were you doing in the kitchen in the first place? (Shouting) Rose: Sorry. (She ran to the kitchen again) Jennifer: What are you gonna do? Anesha: I'll have to tell my father. There's no way he'll let him marry me after this. No way. Jennifer: Good. I wouldn't sleep at night knowing that you're sharing a bed with a murderer. Anesha: Yeah. I need to fix this immediately and I can't do it with Rose here. Jennifer: You're right. We'll leave, I'll keep checking up on you and keep me updated. Anesha: Thank you so much! You're a wonderful friend. Jennifer: don't sweat it We hugged. Rose comes back with a bottle of champagne. Rose: Let's party!!! Jennifer: Rose we have to go. Rose: I'm not going anywhere without hearing the juicey of last night's date. Jennifer: What date? Rose: Anesha and Cain's! Duh! Jennifer: We'll hear about that some other day let's go. Rose: No! Why? Jennifer: Oh sh*t Rose! I failed to sustain myself, I began to cry looking at the newspaper. Rose: Guys what exactly is going on? Nesh why are you crying? What happened? Jennifer: She needs to be alone Rose. Jennifer takes out some facial wipes and give it to Rose while wiping her own face and getting ready to leave. Rose: Jen! How can we leave her in such a state? Jennifer: Just wipe your face. We're leaving. Rose: But she's our friend she should speak to us. Jennifer: She's done a lot of speaking. Let's give her some space to fix this. Rose: Fix what? Jennifer then pushed Rose to the door and they left like that. I pulled myself together and wiped my face too. I took the newspaper! And headed to the main palace. I got there and found no one in the royal throne then I went straight to the king's room. The door was a bit open and before I could knock I heard them talking then peeped at the door, eavesdropping.
