Chapter 31 - An unexpected guest part I

The waiting continues. Their anxiety starts to grow. One twin stares by the entrance of the door. The other was busy looking at her phone. And the girl space out. They didn’t hear anyone coming. The slightest changes affect her. It was hard to explain why. The sound of footsteps become bearable. They came into the room. The air in the room has changed. The girl turned around. She felt an instant spark. A spark that was unexplained. She wasn’t supposed to feel this way. She has a human lover.
“Dianxia “ [Your royal highness] a soothing voice spoke.
The others follow suit. Amelia and her twin were shocked. They didn’t know if these people were bowing to them. Or they bow to someone else. The girl stared at them. She blinked her eyes a couple of times. In their view, they saw handsome men. He appeared to look younger than his age. But, he had a beard and a mustache. It was a complete look to make him appear like an adult. The girl sighs. The others wait.
“ Please raise your head. Do not be formal with me “ says the girl as she was trying to reel in the reality.
The male adult rose to his feet. He gestured to the others. Their heads were looking down. They do not dare to look up at her. They weren’t in the same status as her.
“ Speak who are you guys ? “ Amelia said as she narrowed her eyes on them.
Her voice was lace in curiosity. The young man that was near the girl slowly approached her. But, Davina stepped in front of her cousin. She shake their head at them
“ Wo hen baoqian “ [My apologies].
The girl could understand what they were saying. It was speaking in chinese to her. But, the others thought they were speaking in English. The messenger walked to them.
“ Lady Amelia and Lady Davina, these are the guest your parents have informed us “
Davina sighs. She nodded at them.
“ Very well. Do tell us why you came here “ says Amelia as she had a slight understanding on their part.
The messenger nodded to them both. He faced the unexpected guest. The men raise their heads to their level. The eyes of theirs gaze at the girl. He felt a connection to her. He sighs. He had this distinctive feeling that the girl had a resemblance to that particular lady. A lady he knew all too well. But, he hasn’t heard her voice that much. He wondered what was before her. There was a slight cough. It was trying to get his attention.
“ Why of course. I do apologize for not introducing myself “
The three girls nodded at them. They proceed with cautions.
“ My name is Sebastian Scott. We are here, because we were told to protector her Dianxia “
The man spoke to them.
“ It was the will of the ‘ great one ‘ “
“ Her relatives want her to be well protected while coming to the human world “ says Sebastian as he explains more in detail.
Davina rubs her chin. She was in deep thought. Without asking them who they were referring to, Sebastian has pointed them to who it was.
“ This girl that you have deep concerns with “ as he pointed to their cousin.
It was already obvious. The twins didn’t really question. Nor go any further. They nodded. They knew she was special. And that her relatives want her safety to be their top priority. The girl sighs.
“ In that case, Mr. Scott, are you coming with us to the surface? Or are you going back to report back to him “
Davina spoke out her opinions. He nodded at her.
“ I will not go with you girls to the human world. But I know someone who will indeed keep in an eye on her “
Sebastian says to the twin girls. As if it was well planned, the group of men that was with him was there. He gestured to them to come forward.
“ Come now, please raise your head to us “
“ We want to see who these people that Mr. Scott brought for us “
Davina says in a gentle tone. The guys raise their head. There were endless whispers and whistles. It came from the twins. They saw a couple of handsome men. Men that can’t be compared to other males in the human world. Mr. Scott excused himself in front of them. They nodded to him. He left. The only people in the room now are the three girls and a group of men. Men who appear to be the same age as the girl. They also had baby faces. So, you cannot tell whether they are high school teenagers or if they are adults.
“ Who might you guys be ? “
Davina asked while glancing at them from head to toe.
“ It’s such a glorious day to have an unexpected guest “
Amelia looked up as she heard her twin sister speaking. She saw six handsome men. They were standing tall and confident. But, for her; she saw those six men staring at her cousin. She could see that the men were checking her out.
“ Don’t get any funny business “
Amelia finally spoke out. She step in front of her cousin. She block her view. The men were astonished by the sight of it. They couldn’t take their eyes by one mere person. It was their first time visiting this grand place. And in a blink of an eye, the voices in their mind tells them that ‘ she’s a keeper ‘. Someone who would be likely be a perfect mate for them. The girl gently touch Amelia’s arm. She look over her shoulder. It was as if she was playing peekaboo. It was joyous to see that kind of action on her part.
She starts to become shy when one of them takes notice of her staring. His side glance winked at her. She looked away. Her heart starts to clench tightly. She doesn’t know why she felt this way. She felt a somewhat connection to these six men. Amelia could hear her cousin’s heart beating fast. She was smiling happily for her in her mind. She had a feeling that she didn't trust her cousin’s human lover. She had a feeling that human men are hiding something from her. And she will find out soon enough.
[MEANWHILE AT THE SAME TIME]
IN THE HUMAN WORLD
A young man lays in his bed. He was reminiscing the memories in his mind. He sighs. How did he change so much?
“ I don’t know what I should do “
“ This is breaking my heart “
“ How long can I stay happy ? “
“ Not after what I have done “
The sadness memories he kept haunt him. He did a horrible thing countless times to her. He thought that since this is his second chance in love; things would be different.
“ Katrina, my love “
“ I hope that you don’t retrieve your memories “
“ I want to keep seeing you happy these days “
He sighs over and over. This was a sign that he wants to make it up to her. He knows the truth. The truth that he kept hiding from her. It is killing him slowly. It was torture of him. He had all the memories up till now. The memories of how he became before meeting her. The memories of being friends with her. Then friends turned into lovers. Then, the thought of betrayal came to mind. He remembers every bad thing he has done to her.
“ I keep hurting you over and over “
“ I don’t think I’ll ever deserve you “
“ And once you receive your memories, you won’t want to have anything to do with me “
“ Not what I have done countless times “
“ Being with you was the only way to redeem myself “
The young man looked up at the ceiling. He keeps having the same dream over and over. He blames himself for what he had done to his lover. And this was the consequence. The love he had for Katrina was taken away from him. The hurt he did to her was undeniable. He was afraid of being alone. He was afraid of being loved again. Even though he was doing this to keep his heart closed. It keeps playing over and over his mind. He wasn’t the only one who was also hurting.
“ I wonder if SHE would tell her too “
“ She was the only one that knew what I have done to Katrina “
“ Since she was also part of it as well “
“ How do I tell my love that I, I did something behind her back “
“ Would she forgive me if my love knew the truth “
“ Would she forgive her best friends ? “
That one horrible memory he had. He felt the pain. The pain of betrayal. It plays in his mind over and over. He was caught cheating on her a couple of times. And yet, he kept promising her that he won’t do it again.
“ It was mine and one of her best friend’s fault “
“ All the bad things that always happen to us also happen to her as well “
“ I know this wasn’t the first time that happened “
“ Drama and betrayal is always there in the corner or out of nowhere “
As he was in deep thought, he heard a ding sound from his phone. He looked over it. He got a text from a girl.
[He text her]
Hey you haven’t told her yet have you ?
[She text him]
Her? Ahh you’re asking if I have told my bestfriend, Katrina yet.
[He text her]
That’s right. WE have to stop meeting up alone.
[She text him]
Why? Did she get suspicious of us?
[He text her]
What do you think? It was because of us that she ended up like this.
He continues to text her back and forth. He knew that his actions would affect him. He didn’t want to text her again. But, he has to. He doesn’t want to be the reason for her. He knew she had a hold on him. Whenever he tries to let her leave, she would guilt trip him. Or worse; she would end up telling him that she would kill himself if she can’t have him. He cannot choose between two ladies that he had. He loves his girlfriend. But, he cannot leave his girlfriend’s best friend alone. He’s afraid that she might hurt herself. He’s afraid that she’ll find out he’s with his girlfriend. He doesn’t want to be the one who’s at fault.
The girl wasn’t sorry about anything. She didn’t care that those horrible things that have been done to them were done to her only best friend. She was the one who was attracted to drama. And that she was trusting people easily. She didn’t care that she’s a two-face person. She also guilt tripped her only best friend too. She wasn’t grateful at all. She remembers it too. The time that she had to walk home alone. She also felt that someone would kidnap her. Her only best friend was the only one protecting her. But, in the end; the result was always cruel.
On the other side of the city far away from the man’s house; the girl looked at the moon from her window.
“ I’m not in the wrong “
“ I also love him too “
The girl says as she looks up.
“ I don’t know why, but I love him more than Katrina loves him “
“ It’s not my fault. It’s not my fault that I’m attracting danger everywhere I go “
The girl sighs over and over.
“ I don’t want my only best friend to retrieve her memories “
“ I want to continue to monopolize her “
“ She always believes me “
The girl laughed at the thought.
“ All I had to do was act weak in front of everyone “
“ And they let their guard down “
The girl spoke to herself as she looked through her memories. She continues praying to God as she looks at the moon. She prayed everyday. She didn’t want her only best friend, Katrina, to remember.
“ It’s not my fault that she doesn’t remember us “
“ It’s not my fault that she caught us together “
“ It’s not my fault I end up in the bed with him “
