Cheating Boyfriend Book I: Nothing is Perfect

Chapter 33 - The ghost of the past part I

Agustin starts to breathe in and out. He lift his face to them. He made eye contact to each and one of them that was in the room.

“ I am the half-brother of Amelia and Davina “

“ I do not share the same last name as them  “

“ My name is Agustin Sinclair “

There were countless gasps of shock. The girl blink and blink. There was silence again. But, the girl had a feeling there was a reason why she felt oddly familiar to them.

“ Brian, how did you know the twin girls ? “

“ Elder brother, Brian is also our cousin too. From our parents’ side of the family though  “

The twins revealed to him. Agustin nodded. He wasn’t that shocked. He also felt a connection towards Brian. He didn’t know how far though. He accepted it too. So, Agustin and Brian are related to each other then. They aren’t brothers. But, they are distant cousins to each other. After so much shock here and there, the girl blacked out. There was so much she couldn’t handle. That intense spark she felt for them. It was too much. She’s not ready for it. She kept telling herself. She’s a human. A sudden crash made the girls turn.

Amelia and Davina run towards their cousin's side. They have a mixture of concerns and worried laces on their face. The six men rush to the girl’s side.  Agustin and Brian were the closest. Brian extended his hand. He placed it towards her forehead. 

“ She’s burning up !! “

Brian shouted for others to hear.

“ What did you say ?! “

Amelia spoke out. She looked at her twin sister. She understood too.

“ That’s impossible. She can’t be burning up. She’s a human “

Davina spoke out. She blurted out the truth to them. The six men turn to face them. They were shocked. Shocked that their mate is a human. But, why does a part of themselves feel like she’s not a human. 

“ She has the same temperature of that of a human “

Amelia spoke out.

“ Unless…“

Davina was in deep thought. They both took a deep breath. They have a feeling she’s breaking through. A part of her is trying to awaken.

“ Call our family doctor. She needs to be checked now !!! “

The twins shout at the same time. While this was happening, in the human world; Jerome felt a mini earthquake happening. As there was a mini earthquake; his picture frame of his girlfriend broke. He wasn’t the only one to experience a mini earthquake. Other cities aren’t affected by it. The only one who are affected by this are Jerome and Jocelynn. Because, these two are the only one who are closest to Katrina. The sky became a fiery rage. A continuous flash of lightning and thunderstorm is affecting the city. 

The closest city near San Francisco was Daly City and Colma. That was the only thing that these murderous fiends continued to strike. Was this their karma? After strong winds come and go, more natural disasters continue to follow. Everyday the weather changes in the human world. There was rain. There was a hailstorm. It was calm before the storm. It took a toll on people living in the city. Jerome looked out of the window of his room.

“ Woah! The sky looks angry “

He spoke as he sighs. As he continues to look out of the window, a flash of bright lightning reaches the sky. 

“ Is god angry at us ? Or is god mad at me ? “

He rubbed his chin. Every time he comments on himself; he feels like it is responding to him. There was no way he thought. There was silence in the air. He let his guard down. The wind becomes louder and stronger. As it was angry, they destroyed the only electric that Jerome had. He texted Jocelynn.

Hey Lynn, have you experienced any difficulties at your house ?

He was about to close his phone, but there was a quick response to it. He looked at his phone.

Hey. Yeah, we are. There’s no light in the house. It’s like a blackout. Has anyone else experienced this beside us two?

Let me check.

He texted his friends. And Jocelynn texted her only bestie she had. She doesn’t have any other friends. The only friend she has was Jerome and her. They finish texting the people they cared about. In Joceylnn’s case, she ‘ cares’ about Katrina. There was an emphasis when she stated it like that.

Okay. So I texted my friends about it. I’ll have to wait for their response.

I did the same too. I text my best friend, Katrina, if she experiences this too.

Are you serious ? Won’t she suspect anything ?

You sound like you’re afraid of your own girlfriend.

The term ‘ girlfriend ‘ that Jocelynn says in the text. It disgusts her even herself. She doesn’t like that Katrina could have Jerome. Even when she and her met him at the same time. She looked through her own memories that she could remember. It’s like seeing things that happened in the past. She remembers it all. It was like looking at it in her own eyes. But, she didn’t really experience it.

** FLASHBACK **

Jocelynn’s POV

I have been lying to my best friend Katrina for so long. I don’t think she would believe me if I told her that I did something horrible to her. The things that already happened. But, it feels so real to me. I had dreams too. Just like the dreams Katrina would always have. Was it the ghost of the past ? I always wonder about that. But, the dreams I had; I don’t know what it means. It shows me a girl that looks like me. And another girl that looks like my best friend Katrina. And a guy who looks oddly familiar as Jerome.

But, they all had different hair colors, hair styles and eye colors. So, I don’t think that’s right. I remember the dream. Every time Katrina asked me if I had any dream, I would tell her I do. And if she asked me what it's about; I would always lie about it. Because, I don’t want her to think I’m crazy. I could feel what this girl that looked like me felt. It was as if I’m looking through it from her own eyes. I don’t even know what it means. I remembered it one night. Those nights were different.

Memories of the past

A young girl that looks exactly like her stares ahead. She saw a guy who looked exactly like the man she had feelings for. Except the girl has different hair style, hair color and eye color. The girl’s name was Riana Ruby. She was the best friend of Penelope Rosa. Two girls met the same guy. The guy’s name is Seth Robinson. This Riana chick knew that Seth is the boyfriend of her best friend. And two girls promise each other that no man would come between their friendship.

Jocelynn: ( I was shocked. It was the same promise I made with my best friend Katrina. And vice versa same as her ) 

Jocelynn: ( Am I really seeing this ? )

The scenery of the dream continues. Seth Robinson was the high school sweetheart of Penelope Rosa. She and Riana grew up together as childhood best friends. And two girls promise that if one of them breaks the promise then they would get any punishment that they chose. Riana and Penelope would always tell each other everything. But, the one split mistake that Riana did causes a rift between them. Riana starts to hide secrets that would change everything about each other.

Jocelynn: ( It was surprisingly weird. Weird that I’m seeing this. And that it also happened in real life too )

Jocelynn: ( How come it feels so realistic? It’s like it happened at the same time as this one. But different for apparent reason )

The dream continues. It all started with just a fling or a heat in the moment of passion. When you are intoxicated with alcohol. And the scent from it clouded your judgment. Made it impossible for these two to separate from each other. The one night stand that these two people did made it fun and wild. But, they would also lose the person that holds dear to them. And so, Riana met her best friend’s fiancé Seth Robbison every time she came to visit at the house for a movie night. She would make excuses like she wanted to spend time with me as a best friend.  

But, in reality; She didn’t know what it meant. It would be the fire that ignited the passion they have for one another behind her back. The wild night that would lead to many things. And even though she knew that Seth was her fiancé, Riana didn’t care. Because, she felt an electric shock when her body was held against two pairs of strong hands from him. There was even a time where Penelope caught those two red-handed but they played like she was a fool. However, one night; when Riana was “ busy “. 

Riana told her best friend that she would be doing the school project together. Penelope would always listen to Riana telling her that she would help her family out. But, little did Penelope know that; Riana 's parents would tell her that they wouldn’t have any jobs for her to do. And so, when her parents allowed Penelope in their daughters room, she would find text messages from her fiancé back and forth with her. That tiny darkness in Penelope’s heart has grown slightly big.  But for Penelope; she had her glove on; so Riana won’t find her fingerprint on them. 

And then when she touches the text, it pops up and starts to be read. Riana wasn’t aware that she unconsciously took a picture of them hiding things from me. And so, she left her house; because this was too much for her. And when she arrived home; Seth was inside her house. It seems to me my parents let him in. As usual, the unexpected happened. When Penelope was this close to finding out the truth, Seth would end up hiding the truth with a lie. 

And so, without Penelope’s parents' knowledge, she set up a hidden security camera all around the house. Because, the security camera will only activate and record if someone is cheating on her or hiding things from her. After my parents let him in, they went out for work as usual.  She would take her time in her room; only to catch Seth letting Riana to come inside her own house like he owns the place. And right from there they end up having s*x in the couch of my living room. 

And they didn’t know that they were being recorded in everything they say and do. Penelope was super mad to find out that Seth, her fiancé, only agreed to marry her. Because he wants to get the money from her. Money that her parents would send. And when he got the money; he would instantly get a divorce and would ruin my family instantly. Riana was part of the plan as well. She knew about it. Before they could initiate the plan, an accident occurred  which led both parties to lose their jobs. 

Every time Riana or Seth try to apply for a job they would be rejected for it. And when people saw them in the street together outside; they would throw rocks at them. And when they are kids out; their parents would cover their eyes or pull them towards them. They didn’t know why people would treat them like this. It was a coincidence to see them outside. Penelope decided to put her hair up like a ponytail. And she was wearing a sports bra over the tank top and gym shorts. She also wore sketcher shoes. When people walk up to her; they are kind to me. 

They start to greet her in a polite way. Riana and Seth bump into her. And they started to sweat. They both let go of their hands. Penelope said, “ Oh Seth, what are you doing here with my best friend? Aren’t we engaged babe? As  she smiles gently at them. And the people who heard it felt disgusted at both Riana and Seth. And she continues talking to them in a friendly manner.  Penelope said, “ Riana and Seth you’re not planning to kill me are you? And they both were shocked. They didn’t know why she knew about this.

Penelope wasn’t aware of the hatred that Seth and Riana had for her. But, she warned her parents about these two people. The two people whom Penelope trusted with her own life. Penelope’s parents suggest to her to fake her death. Her parents want to see if there are anyone loyal to her and her family. She agreed to it. Penelope and her family move far away from them. Riana’s parents abandon her. Because what she did to Penelope was wrong. This was Raina’s karma. The final straw of hope of these two went down the drain.

 Penelope’s bestfriend Riana. And her fiancé, Seth with her best friend. It was the only thing that kept her going. But, it was all for naught. Not after the two people betraying her. Like they could take advantage of her. The only thing in Penelope’s mind and heart was to pay them back ten fold. 

… END OF THE DREAM THAT JOCELYNN HAD …

I woke up from that horrible dream. I wonder if this was the ghost of the past. I always wonder why I had these dreams. Am I the only one having it? Was Jerome also affected by it? Was my best friend Katrina also experiencing this too ? I know karma does happen. But, I didn’t think it would happen to me. Or worse to Jerome. I sigh. I snapped back to reality when my parents called out to me.

Jocelynn went to the living room. She headed there. Since, she wants to know what her parents want. As she went downstairs, she saw a group of men that she didn't recognize. They were speaking in native language. She swears she saw them handing them an envelope to her parents. Her mother was afraid of them. 

“ Mom, why are you afraid of them ? “

Her mother turned around to see their daughter.

“ Ta shi nage ma ? “ [Is she the one?]

A man who was taller than her. He approached her. He glanced at them.

“ Ta yinggai shi. Tai shi zhaopian zhong di nage. Laoban gei women di nage “ [She should be. She's the one in the picture. the one that our boss gave us.]

The others were snickering. Others had devilish smirks.

“ What do you want from us ? “

Jocelynn spoke out to them. She yelled at them. She wanted those men to stay away from her parents. However; her parents didn’t move at all. They were afraid to anger them.

“ Zhe bushi women xiang yao de. Zhe shi nin dui women zhongyao de ren suo suo de. Ni bu zheyang renwei yuehanxun xiansheng he taitai ma ? “[It's not what we want. It's what you did to someone important to us. Don't you think so Mr. and Mrs. Johnson?]

Her parents turned to Jocelynn. Their eyes were pleading. They want to know if their daughter did something bad. She shakes her head at her parents.

“ I don’t know what you guys are talking about. I didn’t do squat “

Jocelynn spoke out with confidence. She made it believable. The others laugh hysterically.
