Chapter 27 - Before the incident part I

As this was happening, on the other side of another city; Jerome’s friends were reeling in shock. The shock of what they witnessed at the shopping mall. The guilt has piled up on all the men. The men that are friends with Jerome. They wouldn’t have let anyone cause harm. Nor have they lifted their hands on a woman. But, they didn’t know what to do. They didn’t want to lose the friendship they had with Jerome. But at what cost? They didn’t stop Jerome from beating his own girlfriend. He was most likely going to end up murdering her on the spot.
Not only that, Acadia Braxley; a high school friend of Soraya Miller made it worse. They didn’t know how low she would go. They didn’t know that she was capable of pulling these things. It was as if she was the one pulling on Jerome. Like a puppeteer does to a doll. Except Jerome wasn’t a doll. He was a real life person. A person who believes in someone. Without proven to be guilty. He believes a liar. He didn’t believe his own girlfriend. And yet, they heard it many times from him. He told them he trusts Rina with his life. But, he didn’t show it during that incident.
He was guilty of the charge. So did Acadia. This was what she wanted. She wanted to break the couple up. That was her doing. And she loved it every minute of it. She didn’t care about the consequences. Because, no one will believe Rina. She thinks that everyone would believe Jerome. Or believed her. She was ‘ innocent ‘ in her eyes. Isn’t that pathetic? If you really love someone, it would be unconditional. There’s no what ifs. There’s no butts. You would go great lengths for them. Isn’t that what love is supposed to be?
There's a question between two people who love each other. Actions speak louder than words. Don’t you agree? It was their fault that Rina ended up like this. She was innocent by nature. She couldn’t hurt a fly unless you pushed her to the edge. She believed that Jerome, her boyfriend, would protect her. She thought he would be by her side. Never wavering. But, she was. Every minute counts for this couple. And it tears Rina from the inside. She’s already feeling the betrayal of him.
What’s even more shocking was that they didn’t know Rina well enough. Nor did Jerome. He thought he understood his girlfriend. But, he was mistaken. He dated her. But, he didn’t know the real her. What’s even more shocking was that the police officers bowed down to Rina. Her of all people. They could see fear in the eyes of the police officers. These people knew who Rina was. And that they shouldn’t mess with her. Unless, they want to lose their jobs that is. It was as if Rina had the power of everyone.
But, she didn’t control the will of the police officers. It was by choice. They remember everything that happened. The events that took place in a flash. They closed their eyes. They try to remember what happened.

The Anderson Family’s household
“ Honey, it’s time to eat now, “ says a female voice.
A woman was preparing food for everyone in her family.
“ Dearest, goodmorning “
A woman saw her husband coming down the stairs.
“ Hello, my beautiful wife “
The man gave a kiss to his wife. He sat down on the chair near the table. The woman came back with a cup of coffee. The ones that her husband loves the most. The chocolate mint black coffee. She knew he loves his coffee sweet and minty fresh. The man picked up the newspaper by the table next to him. He read the newspaper. He wants to find something interesting to know.
“ Honey, are our sons awake ? “
The woman asked her husband. She tapped him on his shoulder.
“ No, they haven’t. My sweetie Roselia. My wife of my life “
Cliche isn’t it? Sounds gushy right? Well not for this married couple. They stand strong for more years. They were childhood friends. Friends become more than friends. They become lovers. They were destined to marry each other. That was all the Anderson Families believed in. Their love grew bigger. And in that moment of each other they made a family of their own. After marrying each other for two to three years, they had two sons. One was Douglas Anderson. And their second son was Oliver Anderson.
Douglas had the same eye color as his father. They kind of look alike in a way. He would be easily mistaken for David. David is the husband of Roselia. Oliver; on the other hand, he was more of his mother than his father. He had inherited the beauty from his mother. As for Douglas, he inherited the handsomeness in David. They are a deadly duo for any woman who sets their eyes on them. Anyways, it was a silent morning. They had a husky dog at home. The husky was smarter than humans. It could understand what humans are saying.
The husky dog came out to play. It went up to the kitchen table. It starts to howl at them. It was signaling them that he was awake. He was here. Is what the husky says. He had playful traits. David heard the husky. His footsteps were gentle. The husky approached him. David extended his hand out and lowered to pet him. The husky was very beautiful. Its coat of fur was loving and full of warmth. It was as if looking at the sunset. That’s how warm the husky was from his touch.
Roselia was in the kitchen. The husky followed the smell of her. He rubs his fur onto her. She could feel that it was their husky. She looked down.
“ Who’s a good boy ? “
She bent down to pet him. He licked her face. He wagged his tail.
“ Go wake up my son, Oliver Anderson and Douglas Anderson “
She gave a piece of clothing of theirs. She put one piece of clothing of Oliver’s into his nose. He gave it a big whiff. He continues it until he memorizes it. After a while, he sneezed from the scent. The scent was too strong. He had a scent of a mixture of fresh strawberry and cologne. Then he did the other one. He made a big whiff. He also continues to memorize the scent. This one was a scent of a mixture between chocolate and sweat. He gave his owner one big bark. He was telling her he was going to wake them up.
He jumped onto the stairs. He made sure he didn’t fall down. He was a husky after all. He didn’t want to break any bones of his. He finally reached one of the owner’s sons. It was the same as he remembered it. The door was slightly opened. He pushed the door with his muzzle. He barks at the owner’s son. He jumped onto the bed. With his eyes, he noticed the owner’s son wasn’t alone. It was a mixture of peaches and cream perfume. He jumped on the person. The woman was startled at first.
“ What? “
A woman’s voice spoke out. She was surprised. She didn’t know where this husky came from.
“ Babe, there’s a husky in your room “
The woman leaned into his ear. He woke up groggy.
“ Seriously ? “
The man looked down at the husky. He starts to panic.
“ Ahh sh*t my parents are home. They weren’t supposed to be home for another month “
The man starts to get frustrated.
“ Ah come on. It isn’t bad. Why not introduce me to your parents ? “
His face was wide in shock. It was an expression of saying ‘ What the f*ck. Are you out of your mind ? kind of look.
“ I take that as a no ? “
The man nodded his head.
“ Sorry babe, but knowing my parents; I don’t think it would give a good impression. You know what my mom and dad are like. If they find me naked in bed with a beautiful woman “
The thought of it made him shutter.
“ Aww babe, don’t worry about them “
Before he could respond, the husky barked at them. Roselia heard the sound of it.
“ Douglas, are you awake my son ? If you’re not up; I’ll be marching up there “
She could hear that something wasn’t right. The husky bark was different.
“ You better not have a naked woman by your side while we were gone “
“ Don’t do this. You know that your father doesn’t like it “
“ Better yet. Don’t make that woman pregnant either “
“ You know better not to do that. Whoever that woman is should know that you’re already taken “
The woman heard it. She heard his mother speaking to him in a loud but angry voice. She was shocked and disbelieved. Her face changed suddenly. It was more of a scowl.
“ Babe you didn’t tell me you’re engaged. Or taken that your mother mention “
Douglas was shocked. How did his mother find out? She found out that he secretly sneaked a woman into their house. Nevertheless, a naked and beautiful woman at that. He rolled his eyes. His mother wasn’t stupid. He knew about it. But, he was even more shocked to hear his mother saying that. He was in deep thought.

I’m married ?
I have a girlfriend already ?
No scratch that.
I have a fiance ????
He snapped back to reality. Not after the woman slapped his face so hard. That she almost broke his teeth. And she didn’t have enough money to pay for his hospital bill. He wasn’t in the mood for this. The woman dressed up quickly. She made sure she didn’t miss any clothing in his room. There was a ladder in his room. He helped the woman going out of his window. He waited until she touched the floor. He doesn’t know that his parents' neighbors could see it from far away.
After a while, Douglas fixed his bed. He sprayed an air freshener. He wanted to make his room smell clean like a morning mist. He threw away his dirty clothes in the basket. He went to the shower to take a long hot one. After that, he got himself fully dressed. When he came back to his room, the husky was gone. He sighs. He had a feeling that he bothered someone else this time. He heard a loud scream. Yup he was right. That scream belongs to his younger brother, Oliver.
His younger brother is now awake.
“ Oh cr*p. Mother and father is home “
“ Does my elder brother know that our parents are back home ? “
“ I could finally get some peace and quiet “
Oliver was happy that their parents were home. He couldn’t sleep well. Not after that sound of moaning after moaning. He could hear it. He had a feeling that his elder brother, Douglas, brought a woman home. He was still laying in bed. But, he woke up from a wet slob from the husky. He screamed out loud that his elder brother and their parents heard it. The husky barks and howl. He was excited. He came back downstairs where his owners were. After a while, he got up and fixed his bed. He also decided to take a nice hot bath. He needed to cool down himself.
A couple of minutes have passed. He picked out an outfit randomly when he closed his eyes. He made sure his room door was not locked. He touched the doorknob and it was unlocked. He went out of his room; at the same time his elder brother came out.
“ Goodmorning, Douglas. I could see you’re in a mood “
Oliver greeted him with an utmost feeling. He doesn’t understand why his brother sleeps with a woman.
“ Good Morning to you too little brother “
He had a devilish smirk. He had fun. He went all out last night. They both went downstairs slowly.
“ Ah my handsome prince as finally came down from heaven “
Their mother, Roselia, says in a sarcastic tone.
“ You have finally grace us with your presence my sons “
Their father, David joined in with his wife. They sigh. Roselia squinted her eyes. She makes sure their sons are still virgins. Except, that foul odor that she smelled didn’t leave her nose. Her face turned into a raging tiger. A fury that shouldn’t be reckoned with.
“ I’ve talked to you about this Douglas, my son “
“ Why must you be so difficult ? “
Their mother sighs. Oliver sighs. He knew where this was going. He won't be able to help his elder brother. He patted his elder brother, Douglas on his shoulder. He leaned in close to his ear.
“ elder brother, you’re in a deep sh*t now “
“ No matter how much you shower or change the scent, you would still be having the scent of an after s*x “
Douglas tries to understand what he meant by that. Oliver shakes his head. He went to sit down on a chair. Before he did so, he came across Roselia. His mother. He greeted his mother. He gave him a peck on her cheek.
“ Good Morning mother and father “
David, his father, noticed his wife was angry. He sighs too. He doesn’t know what to do with Douglas. Their first born son. He had a feeling this would complicate things. Not when it comes to combining partnerships in a business. Because, their family will check to see if the person is not tainted. Or still a virgin. Then, the process will complete. He does support his sons. But, not when it comes to helping the family business. And of course, the marriage arrangement was already decided before they were born.
Oliver came across a picture frame. The one near their parents’ wedding photo. The girl in the photo looks a bit familiar to her.
“ Mother, who’s that woman next to you in that photo ? “
She tilted her head to the side. She follows where her second born son was pointing at.
“ Ah HER. Isn’t she beautiful ? “
“ She’s my best friend, since childhood “
“ It was the same time when I met your father too “
“ Why did you ask my son ? “
Oliver was surprised. This photo looks familiar. It was like seeing a girlfriend that belongs to one of his guy friends. It was like seeing a splitting image of the person.
“ I’m curious is all. Have you seen her at all ? What happened ? “
Her mother's smile changes. She starts to frown.
“ I don’t know the whole story. Neither me and your father knows about it either “
“ But, if you do happen to meet someone like her; please don’t provoke her “
“ It would end badly “
