Chapter 28 - Before the incident part II

Roselia hasn't told her sons the truth. The truth about how she met their father. It was best that they didn’t know about it. The other side of town. The ones where no humans cannot enter. She prefers her son living a normal lifestyle as a human.
“ What happened to the people who provoked her ? “
Their parents turned their heads to their son. Oliver watches their facial expression. It wasn't pleasant to see it.
“ Let’s just say bad things would happened to them “
“ That’s what the rumors were told to our kind “
“ Our kind ? “
Oliver tilted his head. She starts to laugh.
“ Yeah our kind, the humans. The one who was born normal. The one who doesn’t have any diseases “
Their mother explained further. They nodded. David breathed a sigh of relief. He thought his wife would tell the truth to them. The truth about whether supernatural exists or not. He doesn’t want to go through another war. A war that ended badly. And thousands of lives have been killed. Especially when it took not only one of his friends, but two important people in his life.
“ You don’t have to worry about her, my sons “
“ You won’t be able to see her anyways “
“ She would only allow anyone to see if when she feels like to “
“ Or when it comes to family matters “
Oliver’s eyes were wide. He had this inkling feeling that their family is hiding secrets. Secrets that he doesn’t know yet. He wants to know how this woman and her mother know each other. Are they sisters? Are they cousins? Because, he didn't flinch once he saw HER. The girlfriend of his male friend. The one who had the same appearance as the woman in the photo that his mother had. But, he doesn’t want to push it further.
“ Ah yes, I forgot to mention this; my sons; are you guys still a virgin ? “
Douglas chokes on his food. Oliver took notice of it. He got out of his seat. He went behind him. He starts to pat his back. He was helping him not get choked from the food. Roselia, their mother asked in a skeptical tone. She raised her eyebrow when she asked this.
“ Are you alright my son, Douglas “
David, the father asked him. He already knew that one of his sons isn’t a virgin. While, the other is a virgin. He could tell by their scent. It would always change. The human scent will become tainted once they lose their virginity. And the color of their length will also change. He sighs. Before they could respond, their phone rings.
“ Dad, can we talk about this later ? “
“ I’m meeting up with my friends “
Roselia was excited. She was happy that her younger son has friends.
“ Next time, bring your friends to the house. I want to meet them “
Their mother says.
“ What do you think about it, honey ? “
Roselia says to her husband.
“ That’s a great idea. I want to meet your friends “
Their father says as well.
“ Douglas, don’t bring any random woman in our house anymore, okay my son? “
Their parents spoke to him in a strict manner. Douglas didn’t say anything. He stayed quiet. He glanced over at his younger brother. He could see that he’s telling him to accept it. So, he nodded. After breakfast, the two of them went back upstairs to brush their teeth. Afterwards, they head out to go and hangout with their friends. After a while, his elder brother gave him a ride. It was a way to say thank you to him. For helping him not choked from the food. The ride was quiet. Until, Douglas broke the silence.
“ So little brother, why do you ask questions to your mother like that ? “
“ Is there something bothering you ? “
Douglas asked his younger brother with a serious tone. He can’t glance at him, because he’s driving. But, he could hear him sighing with worry.
“ Well that’s the thing. I’ve met a beautiful girl. She took my breath away “
“ But, she was taken by another man. A man who is my friend “
“ And I cannot interfere with their relationship “
Douglas frowned. It breaks his heart to hear it.
“ Who’s your male friend ? “
Oliver sighs again.
“ His name is Jeremy Carter. But, he goes by the name of Jerome. It’s his nickname “
Douglas' eyes grew wide. He was shocked. He heard that last name before. He heard their parents talking about it.
“ So, who’s the lucky lady that caught your attention, my younger brother “
Douglas was excited. It was the first time that his younger brother ever mentioned a girl’s name. Since, he knew that Oliver is still a virgin. And he wasn’t a virgin.
“ She’s really pretty. She look exactly like the lady on the photo that mother talked about “
Douglas furrowed his brow. He sighs.
“ Do you have a picture of who caught your eyes ? “
Oliver nodded. He took out his phone. The ride was still silent. He had finally reached the mall. But, before he leaves; Oliver shows his elder brother a photo of them.
“ See ? this! “
Oliver showed his brother his phone. It had a photo of Jeremy and his girlfriend Rina. In the photo, they both look younger than their age. This was taken during their college days. Except, Jerome dropped out of college. But, Rina still continues going to school. Jerome didn’t want him to take the only thing his girl likes to do. Douglas narrows his eyes on the screen of the phone.
“ This is Jeremy. The man standing next to the girl to his left “
Douglas saw a man in his 20s. He was smiling proudly. Because, it was the day when he asked Rina out to be his girl. And he noticed a beautiful girl in the photo. He looked at Oliver. And he nodded to him.
“ Who’s the beautiful girl next to Jeremy ? “
Douglas asked as if he found his next victim. He was a ladies man. None of the women he slept with satisfies him anymore. He wants something new. Something better. And he saw the beautiful girl in the photo. A photo that his younger brother showed on his phone.
“ This beautiful girl is Jeremy’s girlfriend. They have been dating since 2016 “
Oliver introduces the girl to his brother. When he points at the girl to him, he starts to flush in a painted tomato covering it.
“ You love this girl don’t you, little brother ? Even when she has a boyfriend “
Oliver stays silent. He didn’t meet her before. He only saw a photo of her. He couldn’t keep his eyes away from it. Even after his guy friend Jeremy showed it to him for the first time. He couldn’t explain why he loves her. However; he cannot step out of the boundaries. Boundaries between bros before hoes. He doesn’t want to interfere with his friendship with Jeremy. And it breaks his heart.
“ So what time are you meeting up with your friend's little brother ? “
Oliver starts to think. He looked at his watch. And then his cellphone.
“ Right now, it’s 12 o’clock in the afternoon. So, I’m suppose to meet them at 2:00pm “
Oliver says to Douglas.
“ Wow, that's like two hours. So what are your plans then ? “
Douglas didn’t even look at his watch. It had enough time to chill with his little brother beforehand.
“ Well you could invite your friends over to the mall. And while, you wait, you could check out this Jeremy person whether he’s worthy to be my friend still “
Oliver suggested it to him. Douglas thinks about it. And then he nodded at him. He agreed to invite his friends over to the mall. Since, he wants to spend time with his little brother. Douglas finishes texting his friends to see if they want to hangout. After a couple of minutes, their friends appeared at the cafe inside Target in Serramonte shopping mall. He has received a text that they are here. Douglas wanted to introduce his friends to Oliver. Oliver had nothing better to do. So, he agreed to go with his elder brother.
It only takes them about five minutes to walk there. Since, his car was parked near d**k’s sporting goods. As they arrived, Oliver and Douglas came to the destination. He noticed a couple of people. Someone he recognizes looks oddly familiar.
“ Is that Oscar ? “ as he thought to himself.
He thought he saw another friend of his. But, he doesn’t want to embarrass himself. He sighs.
“ Hey you guys thanks for deciding to hangout with me and my younger brother “
Douglas says to his friends. He pointed at Oliver to his friends.
“ Sup man! “ a male voice that sounds exactly like one of his guy friends.
“ Hey bruh. My name is Oliver “
The guy from his hand into a fist. He did a fist bump to him. Oliver accepted it. There out in the corner of his eyes, he saw a couple of women here and there. He sighs. He’s really shy among the women. He followed Douglas to the cafe. There wasn’t enough space to sit. So, he just stood up instead.
“ Hey there handsome, who’s that guy near you ? “
A flirty voice that came from a beautiful woman. She had natural black hair and blue eyes.
“ Come on gals. Take it easy on him. He’s my younger brother. So, he’s off limits “
Douglas spoke out. He winked at them. The girls giggled.
“ Oliver these are my female friends “
“ That’s no fun, Douglas you should say our names “
The girls pouted at him. He couldn’t win against these women. He sighs. Douglas says as he points at each of the girls in their view. Each girl huddled together. They want to see another piece of meat. They were obviously drooling over Oliver. Even though they know that he’s off limits. It doesn’t hurt to eye f*ck him though.
“ Girls this here is my younger brother Oliver “
He didn’t extend his hand to them. He had a feeling he shouldn’t. He nodded his head at them.
“ Don't mind them, my name is Oskar and these guys are friendly “
He extended his hand to Oliver. He complied. He pointed at the other guys. The ones who are overprotective in the group.
“ After Oskar, the man next to him is “
Oliver was surprised he saw two people who look identical to each other. And another guy who looked oddly familiar. Like he saw him before. But, he can’t put his fingers on it.
“ My name is Octavius Rose and this is my twin brother Octavian Rose “
Both twins introduce each other to Oliver. Oliver narrowed at another guy in his line of vision.
“ Oh and this man is Octavious Rose “
Octavious didn’t say anything. He stayed quiet. These three handsome men are mysterious to Oliver. But, he can’t say anything rude. They are of course friends with Douglas.
“ Come on girls. Don’t drool on Oliver here “
Octavious spoke to the girls gently. The girls obeyed.
Another girl came out. She brought all the drinks for her group of friends.
“ Hello, you must Oliver. The boy who I heard so much from Douglas “
A gentle voice says to Oliver. The group of girls weren’t jealous of her. They are all friends.
“ Ah I see you finally met the group of girls there “
A girl pointed at them. Oliver nodded.
“ This girl here is Marina Blackwell “
A girl stands up in his line of vision. He glanced over to her. His eyes were studying her from head to toe. He could see the resemblance of another friend of his. Except she had light golden brown hair and emerald green eyes. Her hair was in a style of high ponytail. The girl stood next to the person who did her introduction.
“ The girl that was sitting next to Marina earlier didn't provoke her. They are both twin sisters “
