Cheating Boyfriend Book I: Nothing is Perfect

Chapter 11 - The Unexpected part I

        “ No baby, this was before I met you. And before I fell in love with you. There’s nothing to worry about. You’re the only girl for me. You know that don’t you ? “ says Jerome as his heart beat continues to rise up like he’s hiding something from her that he doesn’t want her to find out.

    Everyone stayed silent. They all went out of the pizza place. Since, they were done eating. Oliver texted Jerome. But, the text was written in Tagalog. He thought that Jerome’s girlfriend couldn’t speak, read nor understand filipino language. So, he gave it a shot. Rina minds her own business. She doesn’t want to be the controlling girlfriend. Since, this is her first time having a boyfriend. She’s still learning and experiencing the relationship. She sighs. And she gave him a quick peck on the cheek. As they walked around the mall, the people stared at the group of handsome men around Rina. Jerome was walking with his guy friends. 

    Soraya Miller and the other woman had difficulty walking at the same pace as them. Since, the man had a longer stride. While the girls don’t have that longer stride. So, Rina being a nice person waited for Soraya and Acadia to catch up with them. There wasn’t much to talk about, since she doesn’t like being with them. But, Rina herself tries her best to be friendly with Jerome’s female friends. He kept telling her she needed friends. More like female friends. Friends that keep tabs on Rina. She doesn’t need anyone to watch over her. She’s a big girl and she always tells herself that. Jerome turned around. He was further than her, since he was talking to his guy friends. He waved at her to come follow. 

    She wasn’t a dog to begin with. She texted him. She told him that she wants to spend time with Soraya and her friend, Acadia. He was worried at first. Because he doesn’t really trust Acadia well. His guy friends were wondering what’s wrong. And one of them understood.

        “ Don’t worry bruh, your girl will be fine. Since, she wants to spend time with our female friends. They are in safe hands with them. Soraya is harmless. Acadia, I’m not sure. Since, we just recently met her. But, Soraya herself says she’s harmless “ says Oswaldo as he glances at Acadia after he winks at her.

    She nodded in his direction. The guys did their separate plan in hanging out with each other. They want their female friends to spend time with Rina. After a while, Soraya and the others catch up with her.

        “ What happened with the guys ? How come they aren’t here with us ? “ says Soraya as she was breathing hard when she was trying to catch up.

        “ My boyfriend, Jerome, waited for us. But, his friends want to give us time to get to know each other and hang out like besties “ says Rina as she emphasized the word “ bestie “ in quotation marks with her fingers.

    Soraya looked at Acadia. Acadia looked at her. Then they nodded at one another. They both sighed. She looked at Rina. She tilted her head to the side. She also blinked her eyes many times, while looking at Soraya and Acadia. After a few minutes of walking around the mall and chatting among each other, Soraya and Acadia had fun. They had fun talking to Rina. It’s mostly because Soraya is talkative. That she didn’t give them a break to stop and rest. The other two were sweating their minds off. Rina was dried off as if it wasn’t much for her to sweat on. Acadia was in the front of the girls. It was like she was in a rush or something. However; she didn’t watch where she was going. 

    She bumps into a hard wall. Soraya hid behind Rina. Rina looked up. She was shocked. And she also giggled softly. It wasn’t a wall that Acadia bumped into. It was a really attractive chest. A chest that belongs to one of the identical twin boys. The twin boys who are best friends with her female childhood best friend. Acadia didn’t recognize the wall. She thought there shouldn’t be a wall in front of her. Since, she’s at Serramonte shopping mall. She slid her hands really upward. She continues to touch the ‘ wall ‘ in front of her. Rina tries her best not to embarrass herself. She was about to tell Acadia to stop, but behind one of the boys; he signaled her to be quiet with his fingers. 

    The twin boys were having fun in their own way. The older twin boy lifted the girl’s chin up. They were now on equal eye level. He stared at her eyes. It wasn’t really a beautiful color. But, it was still a natural eye catching appearance. Her beauty didn’t catch their attention. He was speaking to Rina in filipino language as usual. Soraya and Acadia couldn’t understand. This was the first time these two girls were shocked. Shocked that their new friend Rina understood what these twin boys were saying to them.

        “ Hoy Rina, sino ang dalawang batang babae na ito?  “ [Hey Rina, who are these two girls ?]

    The older twin in front of Acadia spoke diligently and calmly. He asked Rina who they are, while pointing at her to Rina. He had the same physical appearance as his younger twin brother. He was more mature, but still a playboy. While, his younger twin brother was the immature one, but still treated women equally. 

        “ Paumanhin sa pagbangga niya sa iyo nang hindi niya pinagmamasdan kung saan siya pupunta. Ang babaeng nasa harap mo ay si Acadia Braxley“ [Sorry for her bump into you without her watching where she was going. This girl in front of you is Acadia Braxley].

    Rina said to the twins as she pointed them to who she was. They looked at her. Then they looked at each other. Then they nodded in response. After she introduces Acadia, they want to know who the other girl was behind her. She quickly glanced at Soraya. She turned around and extended her hand at her. She took it and Rina faced the twins as she gently pulled her in front of her.

        “ Ang ibang babae na kasama ko ang bago kong kaibigan. Ang pangalan niya ay Soraya Miller. Bestfriend niya si Acadia “ [This other girl who I was with is my new friend. Her name is Soraya Miller. She’s best friend with Acadia].

    Rina told the twins who’s who while they pointed at them. The twins nodded. Acadia started to feel flushed at the sight before her. With her eyes, she scanned them from top to bottom. She saw two boys who looked exactly the same. Because they had a buzzed cut hairstyle. Their hair color was naturally black. They had round thin eyebrows. They had a gentle almond eye shape. They had roman nose shape. Their lip shape is a classic smirk. Even when the twins look exactly alike; they have different personalities. They also dressed differently. The older twin likes to wear a mixed and matched outfit. While the younger twin likes to wear a solid color. Soraya was shy about meeting new people. 

    Acadia was confused. She doesn’t know these men.  Rina coughs to get Acadia’s attention. She swatted the guy’s hands in front of her. She stepped back. She didn’t want any other man to touch her. Acadia leans closer to Soraya as she taps her shoulder. She turned around to face her.

        “ What’s wrong with Acadia ? “ as Soraya whispered to her, making sure they didn’t hear their conversation.

    Before she could respond, Rina already answered her question.

        “ Soraya and Acadia, I would like you to meet my guy friends. They are also friends with my childhood best friend “ as Soraya and Acadia turned their heads in Rina's direction. 

    They were wondering how she knew what they wanted to know. Rina just shrugged her shoulders. The older twin stepped in and grabbed Rina. He wanted to see their reactions. Rina just rolled her eyes.

        “ Talaga ? Kailangan mo bang gain Ito habana nasa mall tayo Connor “ [Really ? Do you need to do this while we are at the mall, Connor ?]

    Both twins snapped their heads at Rina. They both did it at the same time. Because they had the same name. But, they both have different nicknames. The girls tilt their head to the side.

        “ Who’s Connor ? says Soraya and Acadia at the same time when looking at Rina’s direction.

    Rina pointed at the twins when they asked.

        “ These twin boys are Connor. They have the same first and last name. But, their nicknames are different “ says Rina as she pointed at the twins when Soraya and Acadia asked at the same time for their direction.

    Soraya and her friend nodded at each other. They also sigh. Because it made them more confused. They want to know how Rina knew these people. She tries not to laugh at them. Since, she knows it's rude to do so.

        “ Acadia, the one who touched your chin and you bumped into his chest was the older twin. His full name is Connor ‘ Ren ‘ Cruz “ as Rina was calm like a hamster, while she introduced him to Acadia and Soraya as they watched them.

    Rina sighs as she looks at the girls. She watched them nod their heads. It was signaling her that they understood.

        “ And the quiet boy who doesn’t speak. He is the younger twin brother of Connor ‘ Ren ‘ Cruz. His name is Connor ‘ Ron ‘ Cruz “ says Rina as she watches the girl’s reaction, but Ron comes up to her lifting her chin as if in another's point of view; it would look like they are kissing.

    Soraya looked at Acadia. They were nodding. Ren was still gazing at the girls. He watches their every action. However; Ron was in front of Rina. So, they didn’t see Acadia doing something behind their back. To where Acadia was standing, she thought Rina was cheating on her boyfriend, Jerome. She couldn’t pass up the opportunity. She wanted to break these two couples up. So, she took the picture where she was standing in that angle. He sent it to Oliver Anderson. And he also saw it. He sighs. And he showed it to Jerome. He got mad right away. Rina’s guy friends were there. They too took a picture of the situation. Just in case someone made it worse. They had proof that Rina didn’t cheat on Jerome.

    Jerome catches up to where Rina and her guy friends were. Acadia saw that Jerome was angry. She thought this would be the one where he would break up with his girl. So, she did what she thought was best. She gangs up on Rina. The twins knew what Acadia was planning. But, they didn’t do anything to lessen the situation. They both smirk secretly. They knew Acadia was a bad person. They step back to where the other guys were. To be precise, they were behind Rina. Rina doesn’t like this at all. Jerome accuses her of cheating on her right of the bat. He didn’t really read the situation. He just took it how it was. When Oliver showed that picture to him. He went awol. He was yelling at her. 

    Saying she was wh*re. And that he accused her of sleeping countless men when he wasn’t around. He made a big deal out of it. This made the situation worse. And it’s making Rina super angry. She sighs. The twins knew not to mess with Rina. Nor cross the line. The twins were just being playful with her. That’s why she didn’t do much. She was calm like a potato in a haystack. Weird analogy but yeah. Every person that passed by them, they didn’t make a sound. Rina didn’t care nor did she make the situation worse. Because, the people knew very well not to mess with Rina. Even though they didn’t know her well enough. They know not to get involved. Rina sighs.

        “ Is that all ? Is that the best you could think of Jerome? Me a wh*re really? “ says Rina as she starts laughing at what he thought of her.

        “ Tell me, since when did I become a wh*re hmm? Please enlighten me “ says Rina as she stays calm like a lion before she starts to roar like a beast as she just smiles at them evilly. 

        “ Did I ever once had s*x with these two boys? Did you smell cologne on me ? Did I ever touch them to the point where our lips touch ? “ says Rina as she tries not to raise her voice, while she breathes in and out.

    Rina already knew what Acadia did. She just plays along with her fun and games. She already dug her grave at that. The people passing by heard the commotion. They called for backup. They called for security. And the police. Rina sighs over and over. She thought why call the police? When she’s already able to handle it. The police cannot do squats when they see Rina. Darwin and the others were mad. They were mad at what Jerome was calling her as. In a split second while Acadia was still holding her phone; she was excited that this situation happened. Without her knowledge, her phone was taken away in a blink of an eye.

    Jerome stayed quiet. He looked at Oliver and the guys. Oliver stayed quiet. He knew he made the situation worse. Rina shook her head in disbelief. She knew who Acadia sent that picture to. She couldn’t believe that Oliver would become an accomplice of Acadia. Jerome looked at Soraya. Orion looked in her direction. He asked her a question. Because he knew that Soraya didn't like it.

        “ Soraya, is it true? Did Rina cheat on Jerome with these twins? We received a photo that shows Rina kissing a boy “ says Orion as he holds Oliver’s phone at her, since he doesn’t want to lose the friendship he had with Soraya. 

    Orion already noticed that Soraya had become quick friends with Rina. Soraya looked at Acadia. She had a feeling that she did something. Acadia shook her head at her , telling her to answer his question.

        “ Acadia dearest, is your name Soraya ? Let her answer Orion’s question alright ? says Rina as venom spews from her mouth when she glances at Acadia coldly with a smile plastered on her face.

    As Acadia saw it, she felt a cold breeze going down her spine. It was a feeling that something wasn’t right. It was a feeling of ‘ danger ‘ at this point. Rina smiled at Orion with her devilish look. Oliver saw it as well. Their body starts to shiver in fear. They couldn’t explain why they felt like this. They only saw Rina smiling at Orion. Orion just nodded. He waited for Soraya to respond. Before she could respond, she heard a notification from her phone. It was from an unknown number. The text on her phone shows another photo. But, the real truth of the matter. Jerome didn’t wait for Soraya’s response.  He stands before Rina. He slapped her in the face. He slapped her without knowing the truth. Rina just sighs.

        “ Acadia, did you know that it’s against the law to take a picture of someone without their consent. You would have to pay one thousand dollars to get you out of jail ? “ says Rina for others to hear, especially the twins who were disgusted by what she did to Rina.

    Soraya stayed quiet. Acadia shook her head.

        “ That’s not true. I won’t go to jail just because of this “ says Acadia as she doesn’t believe what Rina says.

    Rina sighs.

        “ If you don’t believe me you could have one of Soraya’s friends look it up. Or maybe you could take it up on the police officer and ask their opinion for it “ says Rina as she felt disgust and a part of her wants to come out and rip them to pieces.

    Acadia was still tightly holding onto Rina’s wrist. She didn’t want her to slap her for doing this to her. She grasped Rina’s tightly so that it left a bruise. Acadia let her go as she saw Jerome coming up to Rina. He starts to shove her out of the way. He pushed her so hard that she fell on the floor. He kicked her hard from her stomach to her head. That one action for that mistake that wasn’t even true made her turn cold as ice. Jerome didn’t believe her. He believed in Oliver. But, he didn’t tell him that it was from Acadia. Oliver just watched his friend beat up his own girlfriend right in front of them. They didn’t do anything to stop it. 

    They were worse. Jerome was so angry that he pulled her hair. From that force, he made her stand really quickly. Then he pinned her against the wall. And he gently slid his hands onto her neck. He squeezed her neck tightly as possible as if he was choking her. Acadia didn’t care what she did was wrong. She wanted Rina out of her life and out of Jerome’s life. She wanted Jerome for herself. His friends didn’t see that reaction before. This was the first time watching Jerome hurting his girlfriend. Rina’s friends step in to interfere. Far from a distance, another group of mysterious people was watching from the shadows. 

    They were the one who recorded the situation. Even the part where a human beat up another girl. The mysterious group of people are angry. They didn’t like how these humans treat this girl like that. They send the video to their boss. The one who is related to Rina or knew her. The one who controls everything. The one who is very powerful. The one who you shouldn’t mess with. The one person who had a peace treaty with the human president. This would be the start of a war if this continues. Others that passed by also watched the commotion. They were afraid that this man , Jerome, was beating up another person. 

    This person the man is beating up and trying to choke her to death was his girlfriend Rina. The police heard the commotion. They came right away before they snuff out Rina’s life. Oscar and his friends saw the police coming. He was trying to warn Jerome or make him stop. Jerome saw about four or six police officers coming his way. He let go of her. Rina coughs. They noticed that Rina was bleeding from head to toe. It was like seeing a rotten body after it died. In her case, she’s still alive and breathing. This was the first time that her boyfriend, Jerome, ever hurt her. This was the first time he lost control of his temper. Jerome didn’t move closer to Rina. He was super angry at her.
