Chapter 50 - Nothing is the same part II

I thought that if I understood about our brother, Jeremy, that life would get easier. But, he and the rest of his siblings were wrong. What would happen if I  find out that Jeremy did something bad behind his own girlfriend’s back? The things he did will hurt her more once she remembers everything. Would Jeremy continue his facade of loving his girlfriend, Katrina? The girl that he confessed to for the first time. I heard it coming from his mouth. Would I be mad for the decision my adopted brother made? It’s possible. 

If I was in his situation; I would always stay faithful. Actions speak louder than words. I shutter at the thought of it. The curiosity gets the better of me. I shouldn’t judge before I hear his side of the story. But, I wonder if he would lie to me. He wouldn’t would he? Well I wouldn’t know. I’ll have to see with my own eyes and ears. I was snapped back to reality when my phone continued to ding after ding. I looked at it. And it was coming from my phone. I opened it and I was shocked to the bone. It was text information that I found recently.

Hernandez to Daniel 

Get this. I heard rumors that Katrina Sawyer is not who she made people believe.

Hernandez to Daniel 

I heard that her family was the Sawyer. And that her family wasn’t all that nice. 

Hernandez to Daniel 

In the eyes of the public, she was viewed as a lovely daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer. They were the family of the poor.

Hernandez to Daniel 

Her parents were poor. But, when she showed up; her parents became rich out of nowhere.

Hernandez to Daniel 

I also heard that her parents didn’t have children.  And that Mrs. Sawyer was believed to be infertile.

Hernandez to Daniel 

But, what’s more shocking was that they had an eldest daughter. Her name was Katrina Sawyer. Their lives were turned upside down. How could they have children when Mrs. Sawyer was infertile?

Hernandez to Daniel 

In a few years, strange occurrences and miracles happened around the Sawyer Family. Her mother had given birth to two healthy children. One was named Ren Sawyer. And the other was Rei Sawyer.

Hernandez to Daniel 

I also noticed people started to gossip and whisper. They were suspicious about whether their eldest daughter, Katrina Sawyer, was actually their daughter. Because, she has no physical appearance nor the same features as them.

I was shocked. How did my closest friend know about this? It was the first time for me to hear it. What’s even more shocking was that The Sawyer Family were childless. They couldn’t have kids. I feel like the more I try to find information about my brother’s girlfriend. The more I feel like something doesn’t add up. There’s more to the story. I sigh. I try my best to ask more questions or this is all he had.

Daniel to Hernandez

Is there more information about Katrina Sawyer? Or is this all you had.

After a few minutes, he got a text from him.

Hernandez to Daniel

No, that’s all I know. I heard from mouth to mouth. I’ll gather more information if you want me to do it. I just can’t really risk myself and my family for it.

I sigh. There it is again. How come I feel like there’s more to this story? Why would Hernandez feel threatened or endangered? I sigh again.

Daniel to Hernandez

No that’s fine. You did enough. Thank you though.

After that, he closed his phone. He was still in the process of taking everything. He wonders if his siblings found anything about her. There was countless silence and sighs being heard. The air was intense.

Lindsey

This was too much for me to bear. I’m not the only one feeling this way. I could tell no one is saying anything. I had this inkling feeling that one of my brothers, Daniel, had some information. But, I wait for him when he’s ready. I also noticed that I’m not the only one whose phone was getting dings. I look over my phone. And my friends text me in a group chat.

Group name: Hoes before bros

Becky & Vicky: Hey bitches! It’s the deadliest and sexy twins

Lindsey: Hey Becky and Vicky. How are you guys?

Becky: Hey Lin, I’m doing fine. Rating every guy I see here at the mall.

Vicky: Ahaha can’t get enough huh sister Becky. Anyways, I’m doing fine too Lin. I’m scoping for some guys to hit with.

Wow is an understatement. I don’t know why I’m still friends with them. They aren’t serious with any guys. And I can’t go man hunting. Because, I’m married. I sigh. To  be young and youthful. I keep getting text dings. So, I continue where its coming from. I opened it and the text became more of a roller coaster of emotions.

Lindsey: Have you guys met the rest of the gang yet?

Becky: Oh them! They are either getting their hair and nails done to look more hot for men.

Vicky: I haven’t heard anything from Debbie. Maybe she’s busy with stuff. Who knows. As for Chelsea and Michelle. They would probably read this text when they got it. 

I sigh. None of the girls are making sense. It’s like they are talking in riddles. I roll my eyes at them. Since, they wouldn’t notice anyways. After a while, I got a text again. It was coming from a surprising news I got from my girls.

Tanya: Hey you guys! 

Stacy: Hi

Lisa: Hi 

Lindsey: Did you find anything about you?

Becky: Oh you mean Katrina Sawyer right?

Lindsey: Yeah her. I didn’t want to say her name.

Tanya:  Don’t worry about that. She’s not a girl who has the power to curse someone. Lol 

Stacy: Why do you ask about her Lin?

Lisa: Did something happen?

I stayed quiet. I don’t know how to ask them. I wonder what they know.

Group name: Hoes before bros

Lindsey: I’m curious what’s so special about her? I hear people talk about her sometimes.

Becky: …

Vicky: …

Stacy: …

Lisa: …

Tanya: …

Stacy: …

I could feel the tension continue to freeze over me.

Group name: Hoes before bros

Tanya: Okay. I’ll spill. But, you can’t tell this to anyone. Don’t want my life to be at risk.

Stacy: Mine too. I’ll tell you guys what I know. But, I still don’t want mine and my family to be at risk.

Lisa: Same here. I don’t want my life to be at risk. So, I’ll tell you all I know.

Becky & Vicky: Can we not talk about her? I don’t think we should do this. You wouldn’t know who is listening.

I don’t understand. Why would the lives of my friends and their family be at risk? Is this Katrina Sawyer really that dangerous to say? The way my brother, Roman describe her when he saw her; she doesn’t look like a dangerous person.

Tanya: I heard this from my parents a long time ago. When she used to work at the hospital in San Francisco.

Lisa: Oh I remember that too! Someone I know was also at the hospital in San Francisco.

Stacy: Me too! Except their story was different than Tanyas though.

What does that mean? The way Tanya my friend says to me. I find it strange. But, this is the only lead I have. Now, I’m curious.

Tanya: My mother told me that she and her husband witness this with their own eyes. They say that they shouldn’t be there in the first place. 

Lisa: You mean the one that crazy event on July 2 1991 right?

Stacy: That creepy thing. That strange occurrence happened. The hospital that people were talking about. Something about the death curse right?

What does this have to do with Katrina? My adopted brother, Jeremy. The more I dig information about her. The more I got curious.

Tanya: I heard from my mother that when she was a nurse there; she and the other nurses were there to help a married couple deliver an unexpected child.

Lisa: I was there too. Well not exactly. But, I know the doctor there. He told me the name of the married couple.

Stacy: You mean the Johnson Family? The one who owns their own family business by Pacifica, California.

Lisa: Yea them! I heard good and bad things about them. 

Tanya: Guys? Let me tell my side of the story before yours okay? So she knows the whole thing before you interrupt me.

Stacy & Lisa: Okay!

The Johnson Family? That name sounds familiar to me. But, how is this connected to Katrina Sawyer? That's very odd. I feel like she’s connected to everything. I didn’t text back. I need more. Curiosity clouded my mind.

Tanya: As I was saying before I was interrupted, my mother told me that the woman was supposed to give birth to her unexpected child. 

Tanya: She didn’t know that she was having it. Because, she’s skinny no matter how much she put on her weight. She keeps eating ice cream nonstop.

Tanya: Then she found out by the doctor and the nurse who is my mother at that time. They told her she was expecting another child.

Tanya: And that child was going to be her last and only child. She can’t give birth to another.

Hmmm… This is getting good. It’s like they are in the right direction. Possibly. I wonder if my other siblings have the same information as I do. But, it might be different. Oh boy! I hope our adopted brother, Jeremy knows what he’s doing.

Tanya: I was told by my mother that the woman’s name was Georgia Johnson It took a while for her to give birth. Because there were some complications.

Tanya: After a while, my mother told me that Georgia finally gave birth to her unborn child. I believe she named her Jocelynn Johnson.

Tanya: However; the worst case scenario was that Georgia is losing a lot of blood. And that her unborn child was losing air from her weak lungs and that she was losing blood too. Because it didn't develop well enough.

Tanya: Georgia and her unexpected daughter, Jocelynn was supposed to die.

Correct me if I’m wrong. But isn’t Jocelynn; my adopted brother, Jeremy’s new female friend. I heard from him that she’s the childhood best friend to his girlfriend, Katrina. And that he used to go to the same college as them before he dropped out from it. Oh boy! I’m sweating here.

Lindsey: What?! That’s crazy. Are they still alive? Or?

Tanya: That’s the problem. I don’t know the rest of it.

Stacy & Lisa: We do. We can continue this.

Becky & Vicky: ….

Becky & Vicky. The twin sisters. They are getting quiet. Why though? I don’t know why. But, my heart feels like it’s being pulled out. The more I want to know the more I feel pain. Strange.

Stacy: Okay so for me; the doctor there is the father of a relative of mine.

Stacy: I was told by him to never say this to anyone. Or bad things would happen.

Stacy: But, I believe that you Lindsey and the rest of the gang won’t talk about this to anyone would you?

Lindsey: Why would I do that? 

Stacy: Okay. I’ll trust you with this information. It’s already bad enough that other people know about it. And then bad things would happen.

Bad things?  What does this have to do with Katrina again? I rolled my eyes. My friends can’t be this serious would they? Again. It sounds like they are afraid of something.

Stacy: So what I can you tell is that he told me that Georgia's husband Griffin; their children and family were there.

Stacy: They were praying for a miracle to happen. It took Georgia and Jocelynn to stay in the hospital. I don’t know for how long though. He wouldn’t tell me.

Stacy: And then, suddenly; he told me that he saw a bright light. Like he saw a group of angels fallen from the sky out of nowhere.

Stacy: Their clothes were different from ours. It was more of a fancy dress. But, these people that he saw were so majestic, powerful and out of this world.

Majestic? I tilt my head to the side as I was reading this. What does that mean? It sounded like she was telling me that this doctor Stacy knows met someone famous. July 2 1991. The date that my friends told me.

Stacy: It was like watching a movie. They were indeed beautiful people. And they were so loving and caring of others.

Stacy: He was there to witness a miracle. Not even the doctors and nurses could do it.

Stacy: This group of angels appears out of nowhere. And there was another woman with them. He believes that woman was a healer. A special one. The one who could revive the dead or something like that.

Stacy: After long hours after hours; Mr. Johnson; Georgia husband promises something from them. I don’t know what it is. But after that; these groups of angels gave them hope and a miracle happened. They saved Georgia and Jocelynn from a near death experience.

As I was reading this; I felt the air change. There was coldness. Like I’m dying in a blazing ice. Surrounded by nothing but coldness. It would freeze me forever. Why do I feel like this? And what’s a death curse? I sigh. And I started to ponder what it means. Well sh*t. That’s a lot of heavy sh*t. My friends stop texting me. It seems they are somehow busy.

Little do Lindsey know that bad things always happen to those who try to tell. She couldn’t see what was coming. Death curse is really real. For people who believe in superstition, that is. No humans couldn’t see this. The room where they are at starts to freeze. It’s like they are being put in a big freezer. And there’s no way out. They didn’t know that the more they found about Katrina. The more they find it exciting. But, if they continue to search about her; they wouldn’t know what will happen to them.
