Chapter 10

As the weeks go by, Emma starts to settle into her new life in New York. She's found a job at a marketing agency, and she's making new friends.

But there's still one thing that's weighing heavily on her mind: the fact that Tom is her boss.

She knows that it's against company policy for them to be in a relationship, but she can't help the way she feels about him. She's tried to keep her feelings under wraps, but it's becoming harder and harder to hide them.

One day, as they're sitting in a meeting with their team, Emma can't help but steal glances at Tom. He catches her eye and gives her a small smile, and she feels her heart flutter.

After the meeting, Tom pulls her aside. "Emma, can we talk for a minute?" he says.

But to her surprise, Tom starts speaking in a low, serious voice. "Emma, I know that this is against company policy, but I can't help the way I feel about you. I know that you feel the same way, and I want to be with you, no matter what the consequences are."

Emma's heart swells with love for him. She can't believe that he's willing to risk everything for her.

But even as she feels a rush of happiness, she knows that this won't be easy. There will be consequences for their actions, and she doesn't know if she's ready for them.

As they hug each other, Emma can feel the weight of the decision they've just made. It's exciting, but it's also terrifying.
