“You didn’t tell me we were going to have company,” Ron says, half slamming his car door and shoving his hands into his pockets as he makes his way towards me.
Kyle sighs, “Ron, Hayden. Hayden, Ron.”
Hayden is leaning against his car, not at all interested in joining in on the conversation at my front door. He nods at Ron. Ron scoffs at him and turns to me to shake his head in disbelief.
“You brought Hayden?” I ask Kyle.
He clears his throat. “Always good to have back-up.”
“Then I’m just completely useless here,” Ron says, annoyed.
“It doesn’t matter,” I say. “Twenty minutes. It took you guys way too long to get here. Do you know how worried I am right now?” I stress.
