Ethan’s POV.
We waved our mates goodbyes before walking to the pack border. I was reluctant to leave April but I needed her to stay because I can't afford to put her in harm's way. I had already failed in protecting her before, I don't want that to happen again. I still couldn't shake off the guilt I felt about treating her so badly and being the reason she was poisoned and left to die, loosing our pup in the process. She has gone through a lot, life kept throwing things at her, past, present and future has something they had on her but somehow she still bounced back stronger which I'm extremely proud about. I promised to spend my whole life protecting and loving her. She deserved everything good and beautiful in this world. Hopefully when all this is over, we can have time for ourselves
