Chapter 4

I followed the doctors' instructions regarding my treatment for the past two weeks and it honestly helped me a bit. I never saw that girl since then, yet she's still as annoying as ever. Every day, without fail, another silly drawing comes by my door. I would always wake up to find papers scattered all over the floor, the sight of the night sky always drawn on it. Surely this is from her. I can tell. I have to admit, the way she draws the stars and constellations is unique and mesmerizing. It was very realistic and magical. It's something I would never get tired of looking at. I'm starting to run out of space in my room, and I don't know what to do with it, so I would simply throw it away as if it was nothing. It is nothing to me. I can't help it! It's good, but what else should I do with it? And even if I can keep it, Where else would I put it? Displaying random pictures in my room isn't even my thing at all! "Hey, Wesley!" She suddenly called, followed by her knuckles hitting my door. "Can I come in? Can I come in?" "Just... go already," I answered in monotone. The doorknob turned to the side and again, it's as if every day is a lucky day for her because of that smile. I didn't bother glancing at her and simply distracted myself by reading a book. *** "What..?" I gave up after the awkward silence took place, only to find her staring at me so weirdly. "What? I haven't even done anything." She was so innocent, as if she was claiming that she was not guilty of doing something illegal. "You came all the way here just to creep me out like that?" I arched a brow, pissed already. "Fine! I won't disturb you!" She claimed, a discreet cough was heard shortly after. "I just... I just feel lonely in my room so I wanted to spend my time with you." If that so, then she can just sit there while I continue reading my book. "Hey, Wesley." That's quick. I thought she just said something about not disturbing me? A tired exhale took flight from my dry lips. "What? What do you want?" "Where are my drawings? Are they still with you?" Her eyes spun around to look for her works of art. "Where are they?" She finally gave up on searching for them. "I...threw them away." Her eyes stopped at me with pure surprise and disappointment. She quickly tried to hide it with her smile and laughed it off as if it was nothing. “Oh… you did, huh.” "Yeah..." The tickle in her throat kept playing with her as she tried to prevent it, covering her mouth. "That's something a new version of you would do." "That's a lot of coughs. And aren't you mad?" I somehow sounded concerned! "Huh? Why would I be? It's okay! I can just draw them again!" Both her hands waved at me as she insisted. Ah… I can’t read her. How is she so optimistic? I can clearly see the sparks in her eyes disappear as soon as she heard me. "But I threw them away..." "Well.. yeah. When you put it like that, you do sound like a horrible person." Talk about exaggerating! "It's just a drawing! Calm down!" "Wesley…” She smirked, like she was plotting something evil. “You seem like you’re starting to care, huh? Why do you sound like you feel bad about it? Why are you arguing about it?" I did, huh. Was I so transparent that she could see through me? I just thought that she valued those drawings so much, she’d get mad if shw finds out that I threw then away. Was I such a horrible person?! "Come on. I slid more than 10 papers here and you threw them all away. Awesome!" Her claps were labeled with complete sarcasm! What's with her sass?! It's unbelievable! "Because of that, you're going to pay for what you did!" She pointed at me like she's about to cry. What a baby! And here I thought she just said "it's fine." She seriously needs to make up her mind! "Is that even necessary?" "Of course it is!" My objection only made her run her annoying mouth even more. "Well..." my fingertips met my chin as I ponder. "Do you want me to apologize?" She hissed like a snake. "Boring." Wow, how very kind of her. I am trying my best, aren't I? "Well... How about a day where I have to act nice to you?" I even tried to negotiate in order to save my dignity. Wait... Why do I sound like a toddler? Does our conversation make any sense anyway? And… am I really starting to care? This is my higgest fear! Damn it, I felt like I just got infected by her germs! "Y-You can actually do that?" She sound so shocked, obviously mocking me. "Umm… no. A day is too short and I don't like pretending, so cut it out. Also, you might hurt yourself if you try too much.” "Just how picky and annoying can you be?!" Her lips rose to the side upon hearing my complaint. For goodness’ sake, my suffering is her source of happiness! “Fine. What do you want then?" "I want to draw on your face." Really? That's what she wants? That's quite unexpected, and again, here we are. How am I not shocked? "Come on, I can do something else that's less boring." I sighed, certainly not in favor of her evil desires. What is she? A toddler? She’s obviously a child inside a grown woman’s body! "Hey, it's not boring!" She even defended her hobby. How persistent! "That's all I want. And I promise!" She raised her hand and pledged with sincerity. As if I care. She's a bizarre person, isn't she? She takes the lightest things seriously, but she also takes the most serious things lightly. Her personality is too confusing, it makes my head hurt. Though, will she be fine like that? "I'll..." Her breath ran short on taking things seriously. "I'll only draw lines on your face. Nothing else.”
