Selene was woken by the head maid and, after being given her clothes, was immediately escorted out of the hut, straight to the woman’s car. Like before, she obediently followed, but her eyes wandered, searching for Duncan the minute they got out.
A pang of sadness sunk into her chest when the man was nowhere to be found. There was this odd sense of loneliness and yearning in her, wanting to at least catch a glimpse of the young alpha.
A part of her wanted to comfort him. After hearing about his woes and anger, she began to understand the reason behind the alpha’s demeanor.
Of course, she couldn’t voice this out with the fear of being questioned by the head maid. So though it pained her, she remained silent, reminding herself she had no place or right to ask.
