PRICELESS GIFT

On the 21st birthday of Andree, it was just a small family celebration it was with Lino, Susan, Cesar and Belinda they have also celebrated her graduation from college that day although it was weeks late already, it was just a normal family get together.  Before the night ended and everyone was all full and are all wanting to rest, Andree volunteered to fix up everything and Belinda was also insistent with helping the celebrant. Cesar excused himself and told the two that he will be heading to the barn to fix something up. Andree used her super speed to tidy up the place quickly, but without Belinda noticing.

“I am so proud of you.” Belinda softly uttered while handing a piece of plate to Andree.

Andree was startled but was also touched of what the lady told her. She answered, “Did you know that you have been a huge ...huge part of who I am right now?”

“I may not be your biological mother, but I love you as my own.” She said while she gently caressed Andree’s face.

“You know I hate dramas, but I just want to let you know that I am so thankful I have you.” She took Belinda’s hands and gently squeeze them and smiled, then suddenly she was forced to close her eyes as if she felt something painful.

It was a flashback, she saw a woman’s hands squeezing a child’s hand, the child is crying while trying to reach out to another woman from behind, the woman was also reaching out for her and weeping as if her child was being taken away from her. When she looked at the woman who was carrying her, she was also crying, and she heard her say “stop crying my child soon you will be with them.”

She opened her eyes and saw Belinda being so worried, she was calling out her name, she repeatedly asked, “what happened to you, are you ok?”

Andree was so anxious about what she saw that she was not able to move a limb at all, her brows just furrowed, and she kept thinking what had happened and who were they.

The door at the kitchen opened as Cesar entered, Andree was still wondering.

“Andree come with me at the barn, asap.” Cesar ordered.

“Andree, calm down, Cesar wanted you to see him at the barn this instant. Can you walk?” Belinda said while trying to help Andree be back in her consciousness. “It’s time, she added”.

“Huh? What did you say?” Andree asked Belinda with her brows raised and her eyes widened.

Belinda answered, “Cesar was asking you to accompany him in the barn.”

“Oh yeah.” She just placed her hands on her forehead and went straight to the barn.

As soon as Andree set her foot inside the barn, she suddenly felt weird, she saw Cesar from afar standing by the pole and she tried to walk towards him despite having a strange feeling as if her body were tearing apart.

“Cesar, can I be excused this time? I just felt muscle cramps all over my body, darn! it is getting worst!” she uttered with pain in her lips and can barely walk. She was crying in pain, but Cesar was just looking at her.

Andre was screaming in pain as she reached where Cesar was standing. Cesar handed Andree a box and told her to take it, she was not able to do it because the pain is getting too much for her to endure, but Cesar only stared at her told her to use her training with pain tolerance she was able to somehow lessen the pain, but it was too powerful for her, she was already throwing things around her as if she was getting out of her mind.

Cesar shouted at her, “Fight it! Fight It! Use your mind and your body, harmonize them both, remember your training!” He added, “Your father will be so disappointed with you if you will fail to overcome a pain as simple as this!”

Andree was insulted and was challenged by the thought of wasting all she had gone through just to fail to overcome the unbearable pain she was having that moment. She was still screaming and punching the ground.

Inside the barn it was a total chaos, but outside, everything was a peaceful night. The barn was surrounded by a barrier that traps any supernatural powers inside that was emitted by both Cesar and Andree only. Cesar needed to make sure to contain any form of magic they both release from getting out because it may harm innocent people and it could be detected by enemies.

Andree was able to manage to be on top of the agonizing pain, when Cesar saw that, He told Andree that he needed to tie her up in the pole for everyone’s safety and told her, “This is the moment you have been waiting for, child.”

Cesar showed Andree the box, he opened it for her. She saw a bracelet, it was like a normal stainless bracelet that you can buy at thrifty shops, Cesar told her that it was from her father. Andree threw Cesar a daggering stare. 

Cesar just made a vile smirk and put on the bracelet on Andree while saying “and that was a gift from your father.” Then he started walking away from Andree while saying “He entrusted me to give it to you when you reach the right age.” She saw Cesar move in a speedy movement. When he was 4 to 5 meters away, he shouted, “Hope you like it!”

Andre felt strange, it was different from what she felt earlier, she told Cesar that she was not feeling well again. Cesar just looked at her and sat down on the chair and continued drinking his rum.

Andrea was again in pain, she was struggling to get out of the chains, for her it felt like she could not control her strength. She started to have no idea of what was happening around her. she got caught up in what was happening inside her, her feelings, and her mind.

Flash backs are flooding in, she saw her mother, and her only sibling. she was crying the entire time while having back those memories that were taken away from her.
