GRANDPA & GRANDMA

1100 Words
Before the police line, outside the perimeter of the restricted area of the crime scene, there was a man using every ounce of his breath just to explain to the authorities that he was the husband of one of the people in the Inn. His name was Mr. Lino Bo. On hearing about what had happened in the Inn, he rushed to the location to check on his wife. The authorities that were at the perimeter allowed him to enter the location upon seeing his credentials. As soon as he was allowed to get in, he searched for his wife that instant. Susan, the Inn owner, was the wife of a then fish merchant. They were originally living on an island four kilometers away from the city. Since Lino and Susan were most of the time staying in the City, they were not able to go back to the island and attend to their properties there. They spent much of their time in Manla for their business. That was the first time Lino met Cesar and the little Andrea. When Andrea saw Lino, she went to him and raised both her arms forward, asking him to carry her. He took the little girl in his arms and carried her. He saw the wound patch on the girl’s neck. He got worried and that made him ask Cesar, "Is this your girl? How old is she? How is the wound?" "Yes, she is, she's 7" He said smiling. "She seemed to like you." He added. Susan joined in the conversation, “She is a brave girl, her wound was deep, but the doctor said about it, there was nothing to worry, no vital nerves were hit.” The little girl was trying to get Lino's attention that moment, and once she successfully did, she whispered to him, “Do you want to tell Susan that you are very happy she’s OK? You seemed to want to cry?” Andrea made Lino speechless; Susan leaned her head on Lino’s shoulder as he wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her gently. Andrea was acting like she was trying to do something, reaching down into something, so Lino could make his move. The girl bent down towards the ground and pointed her hands down and said "down please" to give Lino a hint that she wanted him to put her down, When Lino seemed not to notice her request, she started to have some tantrums and made nonsense noises. Lino was trying to calm the kid down until at last he was able to notice that she wanted him to release her. Andrea pulled on his shirt and looked at him and smiled. As soon as she left the couple to check on Cesar, Lino hugged Susan tight, and tears started flowing. Then he started to tell Susan all he was hesitant to say. The little girl saw them and was seemingly puzzled because she did not understand why Lino was so shy with his own wife. Well, that was Lino, a very reserved man. That was why Andrea was so thankful that he accepted Andree as who he was and still loved him like his real grandchild. He seemed to be fond of Andrea from the moment he met her. He asked Cesar where they would be staying since the Inn was temporarily closed due to the incident. Cesar responded with hesitance, he said that he would try to look somewhere else. He was thinking of staying in their beloved boat. Lino insisted that if Cesar would allow it, Lino could refer them to one of his friends who also has Inns, so they could have a place to stay for the meantime while in the city and the child has a wound that needs to be attended to. This guy, Cesar, always thought he could do everything just all by himself. He took Andrea and tapped Lino on his shoulders as a sign of leaving, as well as Susan, and kept on telling her about his outmost gratitude towards her for keeping Andrea safe during the incident. They needed to bid the couple goodbye, so they could head off to the boat. Cesar seemed to be in a hurry, so the kid said "Babye!" while stretching her arm while she did the close-open-toddler-thing. During the attack, Andrea had an unusual sensation that could be comparable to being electrocuted. She could hear everyone’s thoughts during that time, she could hear and read their actions. When Susan hugged her, the pain and confusion that she was having at that time had gradually disappeared. One thing that Susan did that saved Andrea’s life was when she hugged her, her body acted as a barrier between the blood of the two individuals who were beheaded and Andrea. We would never know what would have happened if Andrea had had contact with the blood. When Cesar had contact with the blood of those two, he had a vision of them. Could there be a possibility that the child could have the same response if she had been touched or had been spattered by their blood? Andrea innocently asked Cesar again, “What did you see?” Cassius did not mind answering, the little girl just took his quiet response as an answer. Feeling very tired, she leaned her head on Cesar’s shoulders and wrapped her little arms around his neck and said, “Don’t feel frightened and worried.” Cesar’s brows furrowed; he was wondering why Andrea said that. It was quite strange for her to say it. That day, Andrea was introduced to one of the abilities she was destined to have: reading people’s minds and actions. “Yes, I won't be" Cassius whispered, then smiled. “How did you know I was worried?” he added. Andrea was too lazy to answer him back then, so she pretended to sleep. Cesar was significantly bothered by the incident; the girl noticed that he was not letting go of her anytime. She also noticed how he had been more observant than he was before the incident. When they were already on board the boat, Cesar saw that there was one man who was getting hysterical because, according to him, his son was one of the passengers of the boat that capsized. The authorities were too busy attending to him. He was getting furious that the guards found it a necessity to have him tied up. Cesar looked around him, he found the commotion disturbing and odd. He decided to find somewhere else to stay for safety.
