KENDALL
Two weeks ago, my parents made one of the best decisions for me, and that was for me to move in with Alexander Sterling! Ever since that fateful day they told me of their decision, I've been impatiently waiting for the day I actually get to move in. Several times, I had contemplated calling Alexander to ask him if he truly meant it or he was maybe bowing to pressure from my parents. I knew how mom and dad could be if they wanted you to do something. I wasn't going to be bothered about that. Thinking of my parent's, my phone began to ring and I saw 'Dad' with a single love emoji pop up on the screen.
"Hello dad," My voice rang out cheerfully. I had been feeling too happy ever since that day.
"Hi Ken…How are you doing? Have you packed your stuff? You are supposed to leave a key for Mrs Roger..Remember? Let me know when you arrive at Mr. Sterling's place..and also, do not be bratty with him, I know he spoils you but you're already an adult..do not disappoint me and limit the time you spend pointlessly hanging out with that Cherly Arnold, you….."
"Okay, okay fine! I've heard you dad. Thank you so much for checking up on me. Bye!" I ended the call and threw the phone on the bed.
My dad has never approved of me and Cheryl's friendship. He believes she was too unserious and was going to rub that same trait on me.
I suddenly thought of calling Alexander. I knew too well that he was a very busy business man. I wouldn't want to nag him with my calls and act like some little bratty child. I wondered how it would be like living with him. Yes, he was sweet and kind to me, I was the daughter of his best friend after all but now, it was an entirely different case. I wasn't just going to be living with him in his house, I was also going to be working in his company as his secretary. How would that even be balanced?
I didn't want to think about it too much. I was just going to let everything unfold and make the best out of this situation. I had always admired him from afar, but now, I was about to share in his everyday life. I had carefully sorted out my belongings, everything exquisite I owned was moving with me to Alexander's place. He was a very classy and sophisticated man and I am damn going to impress him.
It had already been arranged that Alexander's driver would come pick me up today. I had single handedly moved my boxes outside, a very stressful task that got me cursing under my breath. I would have used my best friend's help, but Cheryl was out of New York and wouldn't be returning until tomorrow.
A sleek black SUV pulled up to the front of the house. To my surprise, Alexander magnificently came out of the car. He exuded an air of purely refined elegance. A warm smile sprawled lazily over his face. When last did I set my eyes on this god? Yes, it was a year ago, when my parents hosted a small party for their wedding anniversary.
The last time he came visiting my parents, I had been out shopping with Cherly. I always longed for an opportunity to worship him with my eyes and had felt bad that I missed his presence in the house. I had called him to nag him about not seeing me before he left and he had apologized and called me a whining little baby. I hoped right now that it had been a joke and that he didn't actually see me as a whining little baby. I watched every move he made: the quick, sure, lean grace of his movements, the way his eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled, his enthusiastic eyes, the taut muscles that were visible in the crisp white long sleeve he wore. The first three buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a broad hairy chest. I thought of the possibility of placing my hands on that broad chest when I straddle him. wait! Was I getting wet right this minute
"Kendall?" He called snapping a finger at my face, dragging me abruptly from my wild daydreams. "What are you so lost in thought about?"
The question made me flush deeply and couldn't help feeling embarrassed.
"I..was wondering if I'm forgetting anything important," I shrugged, trying to be nonchalant about the fact that I had just been caught red handed acting like a little brute.
Alexander flashed a really cool smile that all the more made him mesmerizing. Gosh! Was he aware of the effect he had on me? I was stupidly in love with this man and everything he is.
"Well, that's not a problem. You could always come here to pick things up. Let's fix your luggages in…you sure packed enough."
I didn't know if I should feel embarrassed by that last statement or not. It seemed like I'd packed my things to permanently move in as Alexander's wife. The thought of being his wife made me giggle.
He single handedly swept my luggages into his trunk and we drove off.
"Welcome to my humble home Miss Kendall Peterson." Alexander mockly said as he pushed the door open after unlocking it with his thumbprint.
"Humble?" I repeated with a chuckle.
"Isn't it?" He asked innocently as he moved two of my boxes in. I started regretting carrying too much stuff.
The sitting room was magnificent and breathtaking, he had quite the classy taste. He was a billionaire after all.
"I'll show you to your room" He said to me with his baritone voice, taking both boxes with him as I trailed behind clutching my make up box, resisting the urge to feel guilty.
The room was spacious and luxurious. It was twice the size of my own room, with floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the city.
"I hope you'll be comfortable here." He said with a small smile and I nodded in reply.
I was no longer just a girl with a secret crush, I was a young woman on the brink of a new chapter.
"Thank you Alexander," The name rolled out of my lips in such a sensual manner.
