While Elizabeth Dean walked up to the center to make her speech, the people began to clap their hands till she began to speak.
So she began with a vote of thanks, "First of all I want to appreciate all who have come to honor this great ceremony with the Dean family. I am really grateful." She paused watching their curiosity to hear more. "I know most of you will be asking why my second daughter, Sophie, is getting married before Alice. Someone already asked me a question about her whereabouts so I thought of telling everyone here that Alice is no longer my daughter. She had rebelled against me so I had to disown her since she would not listen to my words. In case you see her, please do not address her as a member of the Dean's family because she does not belong to this household anymore."
