Marshal groggily opened his eyes to find his father standing over him, shaking his shoulder.
"Wake up, kiddo, it's time to go get your passport. We need to hurry up and get everything ready for your trip to India."
Marshal rubbed the sleep from his eyes, still feeling a bit disoriented. "What time is it, Dad?" he mumbled.
"It's early, I know, but we need to get moving," his father replied, helping Marshal out of bed.
"We'll grab some breakfast on the way to the passport office. Get dressed and let's go."
Marshal quickly got dressed and ready, still feeling a bit sleepy but also excited for the adventure ahead. He was about to start a new chapter in his life, and getting his passport was the first step.
Marshal's dad drove them to the passport office in his truck, the early morning traffic making the ride relatively smooth. When they arrived, they joined a queue of people waiting to be attended to.
As they waited, Marshal's dad pulled out his phone and started checking some documents related to the passport application. Marshal, on the other hand, was busy thinking about his upcoming trip to India and all the things he needed to do before he left.
After what felt like a long wait, their number was finally called, and they were ushered into the office to begin the passport application process. Marshal's dad helped him fill out the forms and provided the necessary documents, making the process much smoother.
“Good morning, welcome to the passport office. How can I assist you today? Attendant said.”
“Good morning. We're here for a passport application for my son, Marshal. He's leaving for India soon.” Marshal's Dad responded.
“Okay, great. Let me just check the requirements real quick. (checks the documents) Alright, everything looks good. We'll need to take a photo and fill out the application form.” The Attendant said.
(hands over the documents) “Here are the papers, ma'am.” Marshal said.
“Thank you. (reviews the documents) Everything seems to be in order. Now, let's take your photo, Marshal.” The attendant responded.
(smiles and poses for the photo) Okay, done!
“Great! Now, let's finalize the application form. (types on the computer) Okay, that's done. We'll process your passport and let you know when it's ready for collection.”
“How long will it take?”
“ Usually, it takes about 3-5 working days. We'll notify you once it's ready.” The attendant responded.
Okay, that's great. Thanks for your help, ma'am.”
You're welcome, Marshal. Have a safe trip to India!
“Thank you ma,” he responded to the attendant.
As they left the passport office, Marshal's dad's phone rang. He answered it and had a brief conversation with Marshal's mom.
"Okay, sure thing. I'll pick up some chicken and vegetables. See you soon," he said before hanging up.
Marshal looked at him curiously. "What's up, Dad?"
"Mom needs me to pick up some stuff for dinner on the way back," his dad replied. "Let's head to the nearest market."
Marshal nodded, and they drove to the market. As they walked through the stalls, Marshal's dad ticked off items on his mental list, picking up fresh produce and meat.
Marshal wandered around, taking in the sights and sounds of the market. He helped his dad carry the bags, enjoying the quality time with him.
After finishing their shopping, they headed back home, ready to enjoy a home cooked meal together as a family.
After they got back home, Owen headed straight to the kitchen to assist his mom with preparing dinner. "Hey, Mom, what can I do to help?" he asked, rolling up his sleeves.
His mom smiled and handed him a knife. "You can chop these vegetables for me, Owen."
Meanwhile, Marshal and his dad settled into the living room, bonding over their shared love of football.
They watched a match on TV, cheering and commenting on the players' skills.
"Did you see that goal, Dad?" Marshal exclaimed. "What a shot!"
His dad grinned. "Yeah, kiddo, that was impressive. I think they're going to win this one."
As the evening wore on, the delicious aromas wafting from the kitchen made their stomachs growl with anticipation. Soon, they'd gather around the dinner table to enjoy the meal Owen and his mom had prepared.
A few hours later, Owen's mom called out, "Dinner's ready! Everyone, come and get it!"
The family gathered around the dinner table, where a delicious spread of food awaited them. There were plates of steaming hot chicken, flavorful beef stew, and fragrant basmati rice. Alongside the main courses were a variety of colorful vegetables, including sautéed carrots, steamed broccoli, and roasted bell peppers.
Marshal's eyes widened as he took in the feast. "Wow, Mom, this looks amazing!"
His mom beamed with pride. "Thanks, sweetie. Owen helped me prepare everything."
As they sat down to eat, the family chatted and laughed, enjoying each other's company and the tasty food. The dinner was a lovely blend of flavors and textures, with the tender chicken and beef complemented by the crunchy vegetables and fluffy rice. It was a truly satisfying meal.
