CHAPTER 14: JUST A WEAK KID

840 Words
“You tried to kill me!” Bahr yelled as he ran forward. “Hey, you tried to kill me first. I only returned the favor!” Roshan said as he also ran forward. “I will put you in your place, you measly rat!” A punch was aimed directly at Roshan’s head. This time, the grey color around it brightened even more, meaning Bahr had focused his ability there, leaving the rest of his body vulnerable. He did not care. He would teach this rat a lesson. “You can try.” Roshan smiled as he dodged the punch. The aura coming from that fist alone was deadly. After dodging, he immediately grabbed Bahr’s head and smashed it into his knee with force. Bahr’s head snapped backward, and blood rushed from his nose. “I will kill you, rat!” Bahr rushed in with a flurry of punches. Move left. Dodge right. Duck. Roshan evaded the punches with ease until he made a fatal mistake. One punch met him head on. He was thrown across the field like a rag doll. “Damn,” he muttered as he stood up. His face was a mess, and his nose was slightly crooked. “Crystal Iris, activate,” he muttered and looked toward Bahr. The punches he had taken were starting to affect him. He needed to calm down. His stamina was already low. [NAME: BAHR GREEMS] [LEVEL: 15] [ABILITY: Body Enhancement] [HP: [250/400]] He was close to beating him, but one thing worried him. [Warning: HP has drastically reduced] [HP: [50/300]] That single punch had reduced his HP by one hundred and fifty. Now all he needed to do was avoid those devastating punches. He could do this. His stats were far higher than a normal Level 13 human. He straightened up and readied his fists. His breathing calmed, and he stared directly at his opponent. The corner of his lips lifted slightly. “Come and get me, you weakling.” Steam almost seemed to burst from Bahr’s ears and nose. Me, a weakling? He laughed. “Die!” He pointed at Roshan and charged forward. The short man watched quietly from the side, popcorn spilled on the ground. Bahr leapt into the air. Bringing his fists together, he enhanced the muscles and bones within them. They glowed bright grey, a thick aura surrounding the attack. Roshan watched the attack coming straight at him. “Does he really want to kill me? If that hits, there will be nothing left of me.” Still, he stood his ground. Waiting. Ten meters. Five meters. Four meters. Roshan still did not move. A little more. One wrong move will end me. He thought. Why is he not moving? If he wants to die, that is his choice. Two meters. One meter. Now. Roshan focused all his speed and agility into his legs and moved. BAMMMMMMMM! A massive cloud of smoke shot into the sky. A huge crater formed, and in the center of it stood Bahr. “Hahahahaha! I crushed the rat!” He laughed. Then his laughter slowly faded as realization struck. “Wait. I ki… ki… killed him?” He looked around through the smoke. “No. I did not want to kill anyone.” His hands began to shake. Suddenly. Roshan appeared right in front of him. Using his fully refilled stats, he threw a punch. The force was overwhelming. Bahr had not activated his ability in time, and he was sent flying upward. Before he could fall back down, Roshan jumped and slammed his leg into Bahr’s body. BOOOOOOMMMMM! An even larger crater formed. Bahr lay at the center of it, unmoving. “I hope I did not kill him,” Roshan thought as he stared at the body. He had avoided Bahr’s attack by focusing his speed on his legs. After that, he heard a notification sound, but now was not the time for it. He had used Refill to regain his lost strength and attacked Bahr with it, holding back enough to avoid killing him. Even though Bahr had tried to kill him, Roshan sensed regret in the boy’s actions. “Bahr… my son, wake up.” The short man shook Bahr urgently. “W… what happened?” Bahr sat up slowly, his vision blurred. The last thing he remembered was seeing Roshan in front of him. Now he was on the ground. “Son, you lost, but you did your best. How were we to know that kid was a monster?” The short man clenched his fist. His son was in pain because of him. He turned toward the one who caused it. “Who are you?” he asked through gritted teeth. “I am just a weak kid who wanted to buy a weapon,” Roshan said, shrugging before helping Bahr to his feet. “It was a pleasure sparring with you. I really enjoyed it.” Roshan smiled and extended his hand. This time, Bahr took it and shook it.
