I couldn’t help but smile as I drove to my office. The day was nearly over, but I reckoned I could get some work done before I headed home.
I parked the car and got out, entering the elevator, still with a smile on my face.
“Son,” I muttered, the word tasting foreign on my lips. I had a son now…and it was with Julia.
For some reason, that didn’t dampen my smile. However, as the elevator rode up, I remembered the story she had told.
