Satoru
We wrap up the mission and head home. Another 90-minute drive back.
The whole drive home Mieko doesn’t say a word to me. I might have made her angry. But it was worth it. I was genuinely worried about her, but then I smelled her delicious blood and I couldn't help myself. She smells sweeter than any human I have ever met. The thought of drinking human blood is not exciting anymore. I don’t understand this feeling. She’s just different from any other woman I have ever met.
I see the estate off in the distance and I am happy. I need to rest after this day of work. We get out of the car and Keiichi tells Mieko to go on ahead since he needs to discuss the mission a little further. I know he's lying and just wants to talk to me alone. He looked like something was bothering him the whole ride back to the house. Mieko walks inside but Keiichi just stares at me without saying a word.
“‘What is it?” I ask him, wanting to get this over with.
“Is there something going on between you and my sister?” he says in a demanding tone. He might be onto something, which worries me. I’ll just have to play it cool.
“What are you talking about? I just met her yesterday.”
“Really?” He says not convinced.
“Yes, I just met her!”
“I’d appreciate it if you just told the truth.” He says as he suddenly steps closer to me. He glares at me then I step back. The last thing I need is to get into a fight with this kid.
“I am not lying. I am done with this conversation.” I say then turn around to go inside.
“Why do I smell her scent on you then?”
I look back shocked. “What?”
“I smell her scent on you.”
“Whatever.”
I turn around and continue walking toward the house.
“I am not letting this go.” I hear Keiichi yell as I walk into the house. I don't look back at him and close the door. How can he smell her scent on me? Maybe I need to be more careful and not drink her blood. That damn brat is a little too perceptive.
“Welcome back young Master, would you like to have your meal?” The maid asks me as soon as I enter the estate.
“Bring something quick to eat to my room. I’d like to retire early.”
“Sure.”
I take a quick shower and then eat the meal brought to my room before finally laying down in bed. I need to rest. I wake up the next evening a bit earlier than usual and head to the kitchen. I bump into Keiichi on my way there.
“I was just about to get you, come with me.”
“Where are we going?”
“To the training grounds to train. The Job requires you to stay fit.”
We arrive at the training grounds and I see Mieko concentrating intently on swinging her sword.
“Looks like my sister has already started. Let's warm-up first. Follow my lead.”
We spend nearly 2 hours working out and by the end of it, I feel exhausted and hungry.
All three of us head to the dining room and the maids promptly bring food out to us.
“Father told me Satoru and I are going on a mission with him tomorrow.”
“Aww I’m being left out,” Mieko complains.
“There’s always next time,” I say. She turns to look at me with annoyance.
“At least I don’t have to spend the day with unwanted company,” she retorts.
Keiichi clears his throat trying to get our attention. “Anyways, we have a meeting in father's office after this.”
“Look forward to it.”
Another 2 hours of my time wasted, great.

Mieko
I spend some time in the library before heading over to my room so I can call Anne about coming over tomorrow. Anne is another vampire I am close with. We’ve been friends for a long time. She texted me asking me when she can come over to hang out and I’ve been too busy, but tomorrow is perfect.
I see Satoru come out of my father’s office on my way to my room.
“Hey,” says Satoru,
“How was the meeting?”
“Great, looking forward to the mission.”
“Well, I better get going,” I reply then walk away.
I honestly don’t know how to act around Satoru. As much as I don’t like him I wouldn't like my father to catch on. I’ll just have to keep up the act for now.
It's the next day and Father has already left with Keiichi and Satoru on the mission. I start getting ready since Anne should be here soon. I’m happy to finally have someone to talk to.
Anne arrives as planned and I greet her by the entrance.
“Hey, nice to see you again,” I tell Anne, then hug her.
“Hi, I’m glad we are finally able to hang out. I’ve missed you.”
“I missed you too. Come, let's head over to my room. We have a lot to talk about.”
We walk into my room and Anne sets her large bag on the ground. We sit on the couch and I grab a blanket and offer one to her.
“So, I heard that Satoru Kazehara is staying here. What's he like?”
“There’s a lot I need to tell you but to sum it up, I don't like him and we don’t get along.”
“Really why?”
“It's a long story”
We spend hours talking and I explain to her what happened between Satoru and me. We finally decided to take a break to eat.
We head over to the dining room and the servants serve us our food.
“I understand why you don’t like him but you know, bad boys are kind of hot.”
“I don’t care how hot he is, he is a jerk.”
“A hot jerk.”
“Is looks all you care about? Did I mention he drank my blood not once but twice?”
“Twice? When did he drink your blood again?”
“On our last mission when we were alone. I got hurt and he pretended to help me with my wound so he could…” I remember the events from that day and feel embarrassed.
“How scandalous! I can’t believe he did that!”
“Yeah…”
“Just be careful when you’re alone with him alright?”
“I will.”
We continue talking for hours until it's sunrise. We decide to finally retire and we go to sleep. It was nice to have someone to talk to. I have a feeling that with Satoru here I’ll have to seek advice from her many times again in the future.
