Clara arrived at the office to find Alex extremely busy, barely having any time for her. After finally getting her forms sorted and submitted, Alex sat down to have a brief chat with Clara.
It was a simple conversation. He assigned her the task of managing a class in the new student orientation and hurriedly left for a meeting.
Clara left the office in a daze and ran into Jason.
He smiled at her helplessly. "Alex asked you to help in the student orientation, right?"
Clara gave a wry smile and nodded.
Jason reached out to put his arm around Clara's shoulder, saying, "He asked me to do the same. We're gonna do it together."
Clara was not used to such close contact. She stepped aside to avoid him.
Jason awkwardly lowered his hand without saying anything.
