Clara's pov I woke up early took my bath and decided to head to the bank early. I made some calls on my way. My sister decided to open up my workplace for me since I was busy. When I walked into the bank, there was this huge crowd making everyone act all weird and hesitant. People were avoiding eye contact, shuffling around nervously, and some even tried sneaking ahead in line. The whole situation made me waste so much time just waiting in that chaotic mess of a line. I reached home at exactly 11:30 am. "Jack?" I called out. "Clara, where did you go I was so worried" he came running to me. "Relax Jack, I just wanted to get something for you", I said with a smile a pulled out a brown envelope. Have this, it's 20000 dollars, this is all I have. "Jack I give you this with my love and trust. Please this was for our kids' future but now it's in your hands", I ended with a smile. "Clara, I promise I'll make you the happiest woman on earth. No matter what happens, always know I love you, I'm lucky to have you in my life", he replied and hugged me tightly. "I've spoken to Felicia and Irene, they're willing to wait for a couple of months since they also insist it's for their kid's future and they don't need it now ", I said. That's good news! Mr Benson told me he would be free for us, so we might as well get going. Then shall we get going? We locked up our place and headed towards Benson's place. "Welcome Mr and Mrs Parker", feel at home said Benson. He offered a drink and Jack said to him, "Mr Benson we finally have the money in hand". Jack gave the money to him and he counted it. "Wow I can't believe you could afford this money, this is enough to cover everything we need now", he said. "All thanks to my wife, Clara. Please help me thank her", Jack said to Mr. Banson. "Wow Clara I'm amazed, I've never seen a supportive wife like you before in my life. Jack, you have to make her proud, Benson continued. He excused himself and went ahead to make a phone call. We could hear him saying he needed an urgent passport and he was willing to pay for it. "Jack, we have to go to the passport office right now, to get the process started and passport ready, I have some connections, it will be ready in a couple of days", Mr. Banson said. We headed towards the passport office in Mr. Banson's car but I alighted on the way and went home. When I got there, my girls and their aunties were already there to my surprise. I never realised how much I've missed my kids. They ran up to me shouting "Mommy mommy" with their tiny voices. I gave them the tightest hug ever and showered them with kisses. I let them go and went to welcome my sisters. We talked for a while and they soon took their leave. I decided to wait for Jack to come before we break the news to the kids. Claudette and Samantha however shared with me their experiences as we waited for their father. I could see from their excited faces that they enjoyed themselves. How I wish I could give them more. I was lost in thought as the kids continued to chatter when Jack arrived. Claudette was the first to spot him and she ran towards him shouting "Daddy, daddy" consistently as Samantha followed closely behind. Jack and I made dinner together and I decided to take him through lessons about cooking since he would be leaving us soon. After we ate our dinner Jack and I sat the kids down and told them the good news. We had to explain it to them a couple of times before they understood. Their happiness knew no bounds as they finally grasped the situation. Claudette was more excited because she finally got to see snow if her daddy came for her. On the other hand, Samantha was excited not because she knew what was going on but because everybody around her had been happy since she was just three years old. We talked for a while until the kids fell asleep. I put them to bed in their room and joined Jack in our bedroom. I felt the warmth of my husband as I fell asleep cuddling him. "This week has been a hectic one", I said smiling to Jack. "I can't see the kids around", he said turning his head around and trying to catch a glimpse of them. "The kids went out for a play date at our neighbour's house, I finally have some time to rest". I said lying on the couch. Life in Accra, Ghana is not very easy if you are not affluent. I go to work sometimes without selling anything from the market. I'm very glad things are going to change very soon. I was drifting out of my thoughts when I heard the door open. "Jack, is that you", I asked. "Yes sweetheart, and I have good news", he answered. "I got my passport ", he said. My happiness knew no bounds even before he completed his statement. I hugged him as he lifted and twirled me around. "How did you do this so fast", I asked almost out of breath. "Mr. Banson had connections", he responded pulling me close as he kissed me passionately. This will be good news for the kids since Claudette is turning six the next day. "My visa interview is scheduled for the next couple of days," he said. I could see how excited he was, like, his eyes were practically sparkling with joy, and he had this big grin that just wouldn't quit. It was like watching Samantha and Claudette on a Christmas morning, all eager and thrilled about whatever was happening.
