Jack's pov
I woke up to the reflection of sun rays hitting my eyes, a shimmering dance of light. My beautiful wife lay peacefully beside me, lost in dreams. I quietly slipped out of bed, tiptoeing to the kitchen to prepare a hearty breakfast. The sizzle of eggs in the pan harmonized with the morning birds outside, creating a symphony of a new day beginning.
I went into the room with a plate of omelette, toasted bread and her favourite, cranberry juice.
"Baby", I said while I tapped her several times but she wasn't responding.
I placed the tray on the nightstand beside the bed and unwrapped the blanket from her.
I inserted two fingers in her while my thumb rubbed on her opening.
She clenched and unclenched around my fingers and began to moan.
As she was about cumming, I pulled out my fingers.
This gesture made her open her eyes immediately and she sat angrily.
"Morning my love," I said smiling teasingly.
"What the hell was that?" She questioned with a pout on her lips.
"Thought to wake my wife up. What's wrong with that?" I teased, and she just laughed.
"By the way, I made you break, fast," I said with a smile.
"Thanks love, but I hope you didn't burn down my kitchen", she said.
"I didn't love", I replied.
"I hope so", she said and with,h that she entered the washroom.
She came back after washing down and we had breakfast together.
"Honey, it was ve,ry nice" she said when she was done.
"What was?" I continued.
"Breakfast" she answered looking confused.
"But this was just an appetizer, you're the breakfast", I said.
W, with that I began kissing her and slowly it became a passionate one.
And just as things began speeding up, the sound of Claudette's voice gradually approached our room saying "Mommy, mommy, mommy" repeatedly.
"Oh come on", I said exasperatedly.
Clara got up and walked towards the door, she opened it and hurriedly went to sit on her parents' bed.
"Mommy I'm hungry", she said.
"Won't you give Daddy a good morning hug?" I said with my arms wide open.
She held me close and embraced me tightly.
" Where is Samantha", Clara asked.
She is playing with her doll, she replied.
"Let's go take a bath then, but first call Samantha, tell her I have candies for her. She dislikes the idea of taking her bath.
"Okay Mommy", she responded and ran off.
" Now where were we?" I said seductively.
"Enough Jack, please make breakfast for the kids," she said giving me an innocent look just to convince me.
"I'm to assist them in taking their bath", she said and left without waiting to hear my reply.
After Clara finished feeding the kids, she went back into the kitchen to clean up as the kids went to take a nap.
She was busy cleaning the utensils when I wrapped my arms around her.
"I'm going to miss you," I said sounding emotional.
"Me too", she said and turned in my arms only to be crushed by my lips.
This kiss was full of emotions. It felt like I was giving her a goodbye kiss.
After our make-out session, I helped her make lunch and dinner.
She helped me pack my clothes and stuff after we shared lunch with the girls.
We watched Disney Junior with the girls and enjoyed some leftover ice cream Clara made.
I wanted to spend the few hours I had left with my family before leaving.
I decided to take Clara and the kids to a restaurant for the first time.
Clara and the kids were happy with my decision since it was their first time going to a restaurant to eat.
We went to "Liv Resto Lounge" a rooftop restaurant in Accra.
We got there we ordered a family package which came with, seafood fried rice, stir-fried spaghetti, spring rose, samosa and honey glaze chicken.
And we ordered pineapple juice and water as well.
As I sat there, watching Clara and the kids laughing and enjoying their meal, a bittersweet feeling washed over me. It was as if time stood still, capturing this precious moment forever in my memory. I knew this might be the last time we'd be together like this before I left for abroad.
Using my last salary to treat them to this dinner felt like the right thing to do. The smiles on their faces, the sparkle in their eyes – it was all worth it. Clara, with her grace and warmth, was always the pillar of our family, and the kids, full of innocence and joy, unaware of the changes that lay ahead. I wanted to savour every moment, every shared laugh, every exchanged glance.
As the evening progressed, I found myself lost in a whirlwind of emotions. Gratitude for having such a loving family, sadness at the thought of leaving them behind, and a flicker of hope for the future. The restaurant buzzed with life around us, but at that moment, it was just us – Jack, Clara, and the kids, wrapped in our little world of love and togetherness.
I couldn't help but steal glances at Clara, her eyes reflecting a mix of happiness and a hint of melancholy. She knew what this dinner meant, the sacrifices I had to make, and the uncertainty that awaited us. Yet, she remained strong, her unwavering support silently reassuring me that everything would be okay.
As the evening drew to a close, I felt a sense of peace settling in. The warmth of Clara's hand in mine, the laughter of the kids ringing in my ears – these were the moments that would sustain me during the days to come. I knew that no matter where life took me, the love and bond we shared as a family would endure.
So, as we left the restaurant to home that night, the taste of the meal still lingering on my lips, I carried with me a mix of emotions – gratitude for the present, hope for the future, and a deep love for my family that would guide me through the challenges that lay ahead.
When the clock struck seven pm, Mr Benson had his car parked in front of our house ready to take us to the airport.
We reached Kotoka International Airport exactly right pm, we were an hour early, and we started to share our goodbye messages in the waiting area.
I hugged both my children as tears came in Claudette's eyes.
Samantha was however enjoying the moment because she had no idea of what was going on.
I asked them what they wanted when I returned and Claudette, with her gentle spirit, opened up to me about the simple joys that bring happiness to children. She mentions how a colourful box of crayons and a soft teddy bear can be a source of comfort and companionship. Claudette's words paint a picture of innocence and purity, reminding me of the beauty in the small things that mean the world to children.
On the other hand, Samantha, with her imaginative flair, delves into the realm of creativity and playfulness.
Samantha also highlights the joy of building blocks and a storybook with colourful pictures. Her words evoke a sense of wonder and excitement, igniting my imagination as he envisions the endless possibilities of play and exploration.
As I listen to Claudette and Samantha, their words tug at my heartstrings, reminding me of the innocence and wonder of childhood. Their requests for simple toys and books serve as a gentle reminder of the importance of nurturing the inner child within us all.
I realize that amidst the hustle and bustle of adult life, it's easy to forget the pure joy that comes from the simplest of pleasures.
Claudette and Samantha's wishes for children's items when I return awaken a sense of nostalgia in me, transporting me
back to his childhood days filled with laughter, play, and imagination. Their requests serve as a poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of youth and the precious memories that shape us into who we are today.
As I embark on his journey abroad, I carry with me the heartfelt wishes of Claudette and Samantha, knowing that their words will linger in my heart and guide me back to the essence of childhood innocence and joy. I look forward to the day when I can fulfil their requests and witness the pure delight that simple toys and books can bring to the young ones I hold dear.
I went up to Clara pulled her into a long hug and whispered sweet nothings into her ears. I felt her warmth and care wrapped around me at that moment.
I suddenly heard hurried steps of around eight to ten people approaching us.
I turned to see my mother and siblings, I was in a state of shock. It felt like everything just froze for a second.
I suddenly came to my actual senses and turned to my wife.
"What are they doing here?" I questioned.
Clara's pov
I stood there frozen to the spot as Jack asked me the question, I was dreading.
"Clara answer me!" he gritted out.
"I'm sorry Jack I began but he cut me out with "But what Clara? I gave you a simple task" he stated frustrated.
"Jack I'm" I said but he cut me out again.
"Enough Clara, the harm had already been done," he said and they approached us.
"Oh my son, why were you leaving before informing me? I'm I now considered as a witch to you.
"Oh my Lord," Auntie Grace, Jack's mother said ever so dramatically.
"Mother everything happened so fast. I'm really sorry. I can never call you a witch" Jack said and hugged his mother who was hysterically shedding tears.
The whole family came to console Auntie Grace.
After a while, she stopped crying. I was so relieved.
Cynthia, Jack's little sister was the first to ask what Jack would do for her when he becomes successful.
Jack promised her to find a suitable job on his return for a visit. She was so happy.
All others began asking of theirs too.
Jack kept on promising to do all their wishing.
"Daddy I want a big swimming pool when you come back".
Silent fell on us as Claudette spoke.
We burst out laughing as Jack went on his knees to pinkie-pledge his daughter to do just that for her.
James, Jack's brother then noticed Mr. Benson and asked who he was.
Jack explained to him Mr Benson's role and the whole family thanked him.
Lost in the moment no one noticed we had been talking for more than an hour.
"Jack shouldn't you check in now", Mr Benson said.
Jack turned his phone and let out a sigh.
"Family he is right. I leave in fifteen minutes.
We hugged for the last time and he headed to the departing path.
We stood there waiting as he was being checked only to notice some misunderstanding going on.
Mr Benson and I made our way there.
"May we know what is going on please",
I asked.
"I'm sorry ma'am but his flight has already taken off, the lady said.
"But madam this flight takes off at ten pm and it's now nine forty-five pm.
"That's true, but it was announced at the waiting area that it'll take off thirty minutes early from the scheduled time", he replied.
