~~Star’s P.O.V~~
I had a lot of fun watching everything today, but riding on Nash’s back when he was a bear was the best part by far. His fur was so soft and it was so relaxing, I felt closer to him in that moment and it was like he was sharing another part of himself with me, which was a big step. I watched as Nash shifted back into himself and the sounds of his bones breaking didn't make me want to throw up this time which was good.
“Right Star, now that training is over what do you think? Are you wanting to join the pack? Are you wanting to give us a chance?” Leo asked and I thought for a few moments.
“I would love to, I mean training was scary as hell, especially hearing everyone’s bones breaking and yes, I did throw up, but I would love to join the pack.” I replied, smiling at them. I didn't want to admit just yet, but I was falling in love with Nash hard and I just hoped that he felt the same way. We haven't talked about it yet, but I hoped it would be soon.
“Good, we will have the ceremony for you to join tomorrow. We’ll have two Omega's to help you get ready.” Leo said and then Kelly cleared her throat.
“What honey?” Leo asked her. I loved how he was with her, it was really sweet and you could tell that he loved her. I wish my dad was like that with me instead of how he really was, I thought to myself, but soon recovered from it and focused on Kelly.
“Instead of the Omega’s help, I could help her get ready, if Star agrees to it that is.” Kelly said and I smiled.
“Sure, I would love for you to help.” I replied and Leo nodded. His eyes did something really weird, it was like they had glazed over, but I had no idea why or what was happening. I watched Leo and when his eyes came back to how they normally looked I gave him a confused look.
“Oh, sorry Star. I was mind-linking everyone in the pack. It's how we communicate, I'm sorry if it scared or worried you, I should have warned you first. I was telling them that there will be no training tomorrow and that your ceremony will start at six pm sharp, so there will be a celebration afterwards.” Leo said, but I was still confused.
“So your eyes did that funny thing and you spoke to everyone that is around here. Did they reply? Does it hurt your head when they do? Does it hurt their head when you talk to them?” I asked, curiously, but Leo started laughing.
“No it doesn't hurt anyone's heads and yes I spoke to everyone around here. Yes they replied by clapping and cheering with excitement. You couldn't hear me because you're not a member of the pack yet and because you’re not a bear.” Leo said and I nodded. At least they don't get a headache from it, but I bet it feels weird to have someone talking inside your head.
“Well Star, you had better get your rest, you've got a long day ahead of you tomorrow and it starts at five in the morning.” Leo said and I groaned at the early start, making everyone laugh.
“Five in the morning, but the ceremony isn't until six at night. Why do I have to be up so early?” I asked and Leo shook his head, still amused.
“There is a lot to do to get you prepared for the ceremony and it will take a fair few hours to do.” Leo replied and I nodded, but internally groaned again. Everyone walked inside the house and started making the arrangements, while Nash and I went up to my room. We got there and I flopped down on the bed as Nash shut the door behind him and joined me.
“I have a few questions and not just from today, but I've wanted to ask them for a while I just wasn't sure how or when was the best time to.” I said and Nash nodded.
“Okay, what are your questions, I’ll try to answer them as best as I can.” Nash replied and I started to think back to all the questions I had.
“Well, for starters, who is Sadie? The day that we went shopping I came back here to pack everything away but it was already done and there was a note left from someone called Sadie.” I asked and Nash started to laugh.
“Sadie was one of the Omega’s here. She helps everyone out and is very kind, I think you two would have gotten along, but she met her mate and left to join his pack.” Nash replied, ticking one of my questions off the list.
“Okay, second question, when I first spoke to you by the pool you said that Kristie smelled wrong and that you didn't like it. What did she smell like and do I have a smell, is it bad or good? Does everyone have a certain scent to you?” I asked and he scrunched up his nose at the mention of Kristie.
“Yes, everyone has a different scent. For example you smell like honey and it's intoxicating to me. A bear or wolf finds their mate by first smelling their scent and as soon as I walked into the classroom I smelled your scent and that's what drew me to you. I knew you were my mate straight away. Kristie smelled really bad, she smelled of cheap perfume and it was making me gag.” Nash replied and I wondered what he smelt like, so I leaned forward and smelt him, which made him nearly fall off the bed laughing.
“What? You're my mate and I was seeing if I could smell you, but I can't smell anything except for sweat. You really need a shower by the way.” I said, laughing as he pulled a face.
“You're not a bear or wolf, so you wouldn't be able to smell me. Yet.” Nash replied, getting back on the bed. What did he mean by yet?
“Right, now it's my turn to explain a few things about tomorrow. When you become a member of this pack you will move your things into my room. It's a lot bigger and you will be able to put everything in my room. I will have to bite you once more, unless you don't want to become one of us.” Nash said and I was watching his lips move and hearing what he was saying, but there was a completely different voice in my head and then suddenly it just stopped, right as Nash finished talking.
“I’m sorry, I zoned out a bit then can you repeat what you just said please?” I said and Nash looked at me a little weird.
“I said, now it's my turn to explain a few things about tomorrow. When you become a member of this pack you will move your things into my room. It's a lot bigger and you will be able to put everything in my room. I will have to bite you once more, unless you don't want to become one of us.” Nash said, repeating himself.
“What do you mean, unless I don't want to be one of you? Is that even possible?” I asked and pretended to think for a moment.
“Well, you might not want to become a bear.” Nash said and he looked really nervous and worried.
“Well, I honestly think that it's pretty cool that you are all bears. What do I need to do? Is there a drink I need to drink or a food I need to eat? Wait, I'm not going to go in the yard and start pooping am I? I’m not going to eat other people because that would just be too gross. I’m not going to want to eat other animals, am I?” I asked, babbling again and Nash started to laugh at me again.
“No, you're not going to start shitting in the yard, you're not going to eat other people or animals. But your first shift will be painful because you are a human. I will be right there with you, helping you all the way and if you have any other questions I will do my best to answer them.” Nash replied, still chuckling and I tried to think about any other things I wanted to know, but the voice kept coming back to my head. I decided that there was nothing else I wanted to ask and there was no way I was going to tell him about the voice, he would probably think I was crazy.
“No, no more questions, but I do want to lie down for a bit and get some rest. Your dad did say that I’m going to have a long day tomorrow and it starts at five in the morning, so I’m going to get some rest before five come around.” I said and Nash nodded.
“You get your rest and I’ll be downstairs, I’m going to make a sandwich. Do you want anything?” Nash asked and I shook my head.
“Okay, well I'll be back up and lying right next to you in a bit.” Nash said, kissing my forehead and then he left. I was alone now and I wanted to see if that voice was going to come again. I laid in bed and pulled the blanket over me, waiting. Maybe I am going crazy, after all a lot has happened and it could just be my mind playing tricks on me now. I decided after a few minutes that it wasn't going to come, so I was just going to try and get some sleep, but then I heard it. The voice.
“No, you're not going crazy, I’m really here. My name is Sarah. Nash doesn't have to bite you again because of when he marked you. His canines elongated, making his gums bleed and then he bit you, but he went too deep and some of his blood went into you, that's when I came. I’m your bear and it's nice to finally meet you, Star. I've been trying to talk to you all day, but you were busy watching the training and then you got sick, but if you want him to bite you again then make sure he gives you more of his blood, it will make us stronger. Oh and by the way we are mates with him and his bear, Rune. I can hear him coming so I’m going to hush now, but I promise that you're not going crazy.” The voice or rather Sarah said and my jaw dropped open in surprise, just as Nash walked back into the room. I tried to recover, but Nash had already seen the look on my face and rushed over to me, kneeling beside me.
“Star, what's wrong? Are you okay? Did something happen? You can tell me anything, I wont judge.” Nash said, but I just shook my head.
“Nothings wrong Nash, but….hmmmm. I really don't know how to tell you this except just to blurt it out. When you marked me you went too deep and let some of your blood into me and well, long story short, my bear's name is Sarah and she said that we are mates. She was just talking to me.” I replied and Nash’s mouth dropped open.
“Are you okay? Did you shift yet? Did she hurt you?” Nash asked and tried to check me for injuries.
“Yeah, I’m okay, no I didn't shift yet and no I'm not hurt. I'm just a little surprised that's all. She said if you bite me again make sure that you give me more of your blood because it will make us stronger. She doesn't want to be weak.” I replied and Nash nodded.
“Alright I can do that, but you need to tell her that she can't make you shift until the day after, so no one will freak out. I thought you were being a little weird today, but I couldn't put my finger on it, now I know why. You kept saying that you felt achy and sore, that your side was hurting, but I just thought it was because of all the running and the fact that we had hot and hard s*x, but its been a while so you shouldnt have been so sore and now I know why you were being off. I’m so sorry, I should have seen the signs and knew what was happening.” Nash said, holding my hand.
“It's okay, I didn't even know what the signs were until now. I kept hearing this soft voice, that's why I zoned out earlier, so when you left I decided to wait for it again and she talked. She also said your bear's name was Rune, is that true?” I replied and he nodded his head, smiling at me.
“Yes, my bear's name is Rune and he's been dying to meet you, he keeps telling me off because I haven’t let him come forward and say hello to you, but I think it's too soon for that. You will meet him soon, but not just yet.” Nash replied and I nodded.
“What is he like?” I asked and Nash looked like he was deep in thought.
“He’s very….kind, but he has a temper and can lose control when someone hurts his family or someone he loves. He's currently telling me off because I told you that, he told me to tell you that he is handsome and can't wait to meet his beautiful mate. By the way Rune is also very annoying at times and often butts into my conversation, especially when I’m with you.” Nash said and I started to laugh as he was arguing with his bear, while he was talking to me.
“Wait, how do I tell her that? How do I talk to her?” I asked, remembering what he told me to tell her about waiting to shift.
“Oh, yeah, sorry. You just have to think about it and focus on her and she will hear you.” Nash said and I nodded, deciding to give it ago while he was with me in case I did something wrong or it didn't work. I closed my eyes and thought about what I wanted to say.
“Sarah, can you hear me?” I asked and then waited, hoping I got it right.
“Coming in loud and clear.” Sarah said, giggling in my head and it felt really weird.
“Hey, I heard that, but don't worry you will get used to it.” Sarah said, catching me off guard.
“Nash said you have to wait until the day after to shift. He doesn't want anyone to freak out.” I said.
“Yeah I know, okay, I’ll wait.” Sarah said and I opened my eyes.
“Okay, I told her, but can she still hear me?” I asked and Nash just smiled at me.
“No not anymore, you ended the link with her when you stopped focusing on her.” Nash replied and I sighed in relief. This was a lot to get used to.
“Come on, love. Let's lay down and get some sleep. Tomorrow is another day and it's going to be a long day for you and for Sarah.” Nash said and I nodded. I changed into my night clothes and Nash stripped down to his boxers, getting into bed next to me and wrapping his arms around me as we both fell asleep.
