Disputed Love

Chapter 4

The city's atmosphere can't be compared with a peaceful environment. It is tense and unsettled. The atmosphere at the hospital is that of war, fear and panic. Daniel couldn't control his anger. The nurse dragged herself backwards with her mouth open wide. The wolf jumped to give a damaging attack. The nurse squeezed her face, raised her right hand involuntarily and bowed her head a bit in fear, waiting to be pounced on. The wolf moved at an accurate speed. The nurses opened their mouths in panic. The wolf flew over her annoyingly and landed on her back. He instantly turned but controlled himself and returned to his human form.

Everybody becomes silent at night for the space of one minute. The nurse on the nude floor expects something to have happened to her. She puts her right hand down and looks around rapidly. "Wow!" Noise couldn't be withheld but raged out with many voices jubilating. The nurse stood up and looked backwards. She beheld an angry-looking man staring at them in displeasure. She stared straight into his eyes and the other nurses gave Daniel the attention he sought quickly due to the fear that gripped them. They are not prepared for what is coming next if he is not quickly given attention.

Daniel calmly gathered all the information he needed from them, he smiled, lowered his head and walked out of the area slowly. The nurses stare at him in surprise and watch him leave majestically. They returned to their post duties and what happened became a subject that couldn't be ignored. The whole incident was narrated by one of the nurses to the doctor. He opened his mouth wide after listening to the whole scenario and wondered why he was so interested in what was happening to the meant-to-be lovers who fought over what is unknown and made an incredible display that shattered them both into broken pieces.

The queen recovered quickly at the hospital and it makes the doctor marvel, but still, he is happy that she recovered quickly. The Alpha couldn't recover very fast because the wound he had was a deep one.

The city needs to be governed and taken care of. Still, the lovers must fulfill the custom of staying within the house for one week. Since Alpha has not recovered at the same time as the queen, the queen will be discharged to take care of the city until Micheal returns from the hospital. Still, the queen has to be medically checked just to be sure there are no other things to be attended to.

The hospital bed shakes softly as the queen tries to raise herself. She noticed her body was OK despite the unhealed wound she had during the epic crisis. The doctor walks into their ward and walks directly to where she is lying when he sees she tried to raise herself but was too tired to do that. He told her to relax for a while and walked away from her to meet the Alpha. He looked at his eyelids and checked his tongue by helping him to open his mouth. After a thorough check, he confirmed that Alpha was recuperating. He walks back to his office with one of the nurses. He sat down calmly on his chair and ordered the nurse to release the Queen after 2 hrs. She nodded her head in accordance with what he had said and reached for the door leading back to her duty post.

The pack keeps up with what had happened days ago but the noise about it has died down a bit still. Some people are still seen spitting out the trash they call information. Daniel walked majestically to the town, his stomach groaning in pain. He held it and kept walking "I think I am hungry again", he declared, and walked further so that he could have some rest.

The day closes up its bright light and darkness is embodied. "Oh! I slept off" he stands from where he is sitting and stretches his body. Daniel had a little strength to walk a mile to the place he was when he received the food. He could see that often. He walks rapidly and, luckily for him, he meets a bunch of the pack drinking themselves into a stupor in an open store where alcoholics are being sold.

"According to the custom of the werewolves, you can get a drink for free if two members of the pack have bought a drink", he raised his head when this flashed his brain. He walks up to them and calls himself their friend. The storeman was surprised, but Daniel is quite popular within the city. He approached the store owner and asked for free liquor. The owner of the store seemed indecisive, but still he gave him free liquor, it's quite the custom of the werewolves. He sits himself down like a chief, then, the wind starts blowing in his favor, he pours the drink and tastes it before he starts drinking. It's just like heaven on earth. He shook his head in pleasure at what he was drinking.

The night was long but it quickly dispelled its darkness and light held its position. Micheal groans while he is still really asleep, the pain is still severe. The doctor comes into his ward to administer the dose. He walks calmly and slightly opens the door of the ward to avoid making a noise. He steps slowly into the hospital and hears the sound Michael is making. He knew immediately what that was and he had to rush to his bed. He examined him and quickly gave him a sedating drug that put him back to sleep for a while.

The doctor administers the healing dose and stands up. He checks his drip and has it replaced with a new one before he goes into another ward to check on Vivian. Vivian was completely awake and OK. The doctor entered her room and found her sitting upright on the bed with her drip attached to her hand. The doctor smiled as he walked majestically to where she was sitting. He knows she is fully well and has to be discharged. Although he asked the nurse to discharge her after two hours yesterday, the nurse couldn't because she was not in the right frame of mind to be left to get a pack. The doctor called the nurse, and she walked into the hospital quickly. " Quickly discharge her. She is perfectly OK now", he asked the nurse with a smile. The nurse's face was shining and seemed happy because of the way the doctor smiled when ordering her. She knows he is happy.

The doctor leaves his ward smiling as he heads to his office to continue the task of the day. The nurse calmly walks up to her and tells her "You are free to go". She speaks audibly with a vibrant smile that portrays all is well. The nurse walked out while Vivian was still in there. After some minutes, Vivian stood up and walked out of the hospital. She breathed heavily and headed to the city.

Some members of the pack sighted her and laughed at her to scorn. Vivian notices all this and feels hurt. Her ego is being tampered with, but still, she goes on to be the queen of the pack. She walks rapidly with her head buried down in shame. Some members of the pack followed her in the shadows but she took cognisance of it.

Vivian quickly entered a narrow path that was walled on its two sides and led straight to her house. A member of the pack jumped in her way to obstruct her from getting to her destination. She faced back and walked hastily to escape. Another member of the pack jumped to obstruct her.

" Is this a set-up?" she screamed at the top of her voice while she halted to fight them.

"Now" one of the people obstructing her shouted. Vivian heard so many footsteps and some of the pack members stood on the wall. In their hands comes a stone. Vivian becomes so terrified. With what she has faced, she shouldn't be passing through this. She is scared to death.

They all take their stance with a mask on each of their faces. They raised their right hands to cast the stone. Vivian's face becomes red and soiled, she realizes this is the end and hates herself for having to fight Michael at first.
