Caleb   After I had  driven  a dagger into uncle's chest, I proceeded to plant my derriere on the cold hard ground  beside him until the wound seized to ooze blood. My tears had been incessant, searing ferociously down my face and nestling at the corners of my dried lips. I had suddenly felt forlorn, my mind incapable of accepting the fact that I had just killed the only person in the world who actually cared for me. For nights after the gory incident,  I sauntered aimlessly in the streets of Malin, waiting for someone to take my life so that I could rejoin my mother and uncle in the world beyond. There was a particular night that came near to my wish. I was cornered by a rather strong boy, too strong for his age. Pete had been five years younger than me yet he had been burlier than me.
