Chapter 20. Mistaken
Leanne is in the middle of helping her friends tidy everything up, when she crossing the room outside the living room, and met June. Leanne can tell that June’s in hurry by her fast-walking toward her.
“Oh, Leanne! Can you help me? I’ve been searching for signals.” she said in a rush. “And now my battery is gone.”
“Yes, what can I do?”
“I have emergency at the hospital, I have to go. They’ve called me a thousand times. Please tell Ace I have to go.”
Leanne paused for a second before speaks. “Okay, I will. How will you go? Should I tell Mr. Ace to drive you?”
“No, no, no. My friend is on the way. I don’t think Ace should drive anyway. He drinks too much—I guess.” June heard a car sound approaching. “I think my ride is here. Thank you, Leanne.”
“You’re welcome Ms. June. Good luck!” said Leanne still watching her running toward the front door while waving her hand at Leanne.
Leanne then putting the dirty plates to the kitchen sink, before heading toward Ace’s room. She’s wondering for a second though, should she sent one of her friends to pass the message to Ace. After considered the conversation with her friends, she decided to tell him herself. --In her head, Leanne just know that none of her friends will wants to do it for her—since they’ve been supporting what they call to be ‘sparks’ between Ace and her.
Even so, Leanne keep try her luck anyway when she passes the living room.
“Hey girls, June said she—”
“Tell him yourself, girl. We’re occupied here..” Linda cut in even before she finished her words. All three of them just looking and tease-smiling at her.
Leanne then heading toward Ace’s room, she sighed before gently knock at Ace’s door.
“Ace?” No answer.
She knocks, and called him again, before deciding to check on him by opened the door a little. Why is there no lights on in the room? Is Ace not in the room?—She thought inside. She knew that One is in Cheryl’s room, she opened the door wider and walk inside the room.
Leanne decided to check on the balcony, since the balcony door was opened, make the lights from the moon and lamps outside, shine through inside the room.
Leanne found no one there, she closed the glass door and the dark grey-curtains, she immediately felt silly when the room turned into pitch-black—since she didn’t turn on the light in the first place, before decided to close the curtains.
Leanne is still groping for a lamp or a switch, when suddenly, somebody pulled her body and pinned her to the wall. -- Just started to wildly kissing her.
Ace were inside the bathroom when he thought he heard some knocks—or a lady voice called his name, but the moment he turned off the shower, he didn’t hear anything. Ace decided to come out right away anyway, because he was expecting June and he doesn’t want to keep her waiting. Considering that June got a phone calls, earlier the whole night, and told him that she will be back, so he thought while waiting, he’ll took a shower trying to ease off his drunk. It’s been a while since he last drinking that much, and he took quite a lot of drinks tonight, --what an excellent way to avoiding his thoughts about Leanne.—He thought inside.
When Ace came out from the bathroom, in his short only, slightly closed the bathroom door in the same time the room is pitch black too.
His head is still spinning, and he can’t be sure of his vision, he just knew where to go to reach the lady—that he thought to be June— he just need to try to be with June, that is the reason why he just pushed her back against the wall and dominate her with a kiss.
A lustful kiss, in the dark.
“What took you so long?” Ace said in his husky voice, without even expecting an answer. Leanne can only took a slight chance to gasp for air, instead of speaking a word. When his lips prevent her from it, she just can’t help herself—as if a part of her get lost in the kiss but also she felt her head kept reminding her to push him away. All of this made her heavily breathing, constantly. Her heart beats so fast, she can’t deny his kisses are heavenly good.
Ace still greedily enjoying her lips without a hesitation at all. Damn! He doesn’t even know that kissing June is THIS good. See? What he feels about Leanne mustn’t be true.—He thought inside while still lost in her kiss.
Ace lifted Leanne’s body by grabbing her bottoms and swiftly bring her to the bed, only to be on top of her without even break the kiss from the very beginning.
The next thing that he realised is the body under his, starts to trembles.
“June? Are you okay?” he paused for a while.
“I- I’m---” Leanne tried to tell him, when he quickly recognised the voice. He stood up—keeping distance from her, and to make sure—light up the bed-lamp.
“SH*T!” He burst out while rub his face with one palm.
Great! He cursed.—Leanne said inside, feeling rejected in all of a sudden. Leanne slowly stand up from the bed too, her cheeks and lips are reddened from the kiss—and from her feeling embarrassment. She walked slowly and had to lean on the wood-drawers near the door, while fixing her hair with one hand. Pretty sure her knees were still trembling.
“I- I k-knocked – a- a few time.” Leanne tried to explained while looked down before slightly looking at him, and eventually-- looked away for not getting enough strength to look at his eyes.
“What are you doing here?!” His voices sounded harsher than he expects.
“Sh- she had to go. Emergency i-in the hospital, s-she said.” Said Leanne still leaning on the drawer.
Ace ruffled his hair, feeling frustrated for the fact that despite everything that just happened, he still wanted to kiss her again. As in Leanne’s eyes and mind, she just sensing that Ace was very disappointed not to have June and kissing her instead.
Ace rub his face again, recalling and worrying about her PTSD symptom. Not liking the fact if he’s the one who’s causing it, before saying, “Are you okay? Did I—”
Leanne immediately cut in, while gently shook her head.
“D-don’t worry. I won’t say a-anything. I promise.” She said while looked down, hiding her glassy eyes before apologizing—without eye contacts, and walk out from the room.
“Leanne!” Ace called her, but Leanne closed the door—refusing to even stay a bit longer.
She ran as fast as she can from Ace’s room.
