Chapter 16: Discovered Plan

April POV

I was so upset about what happened at the beach and furthermore how Nathan didn’t even felt he had to explained the intimate moment he had with Laura.

I could feel his jealousness as he saw Justin and me dancing, but he can’t even use that as an excuse.

I saw how Laura kissed him if not on his mouth it was pretty near.

And then treat me like if I didn’t even exist on the way home, he behaved like an asshole.

But even if he did; I couldn’t stop thinking of him, we had such a nice time together last night and today everything was great until they wander off together.

I told him Laura wanted to be with him, but he still didn’t believe me.

I didn’t even want to think about that right now, it had me restless.

Just in time, Crystal name pop up on my phone when it started to ring.

We spoke about how things work out today and she told me to be careful with Laura, since she was known as a b***h.

And that if she did not want me to be with Nathan maybe she had made everything up, with Justin.

When I stop to think of it, it all had sense, because as soon as Laura went after Nathan; Justin got closer to me and started nagging me to show him my moves.

I really did not see anything wrong with it, but when I stop to think of it, when Nathan and April was heading back, Justin danced closer to me.

I was convincing myself in taking Crystal’s advice; to call Nathan.

After I hung up with Crystal I eyed some of the pics we both took last night and was thinking how we look so good together.

I should have been thinking of him such that his smell came to my senses, I even heard a sound by my window, since my room is located to the back of the house, but after a while when my Dad came in to check on me before heading to his room, he told me he was the one in back, casting some cats away.

He wanted to speak about my day, but I really wasn’t in the mood, and in a way I felt relieve that he did not insist.

After I took a bath and felt much more determined, I took my phone and dialed Nathan’s number.

Right away I thought it was too late to be calling, but before I could hang up, he answered.

-Hello!  He said.

-Hi Nathan, did I wake you? I asked not knowing what to say.

-No, not really. He answered

-Can we talk? I asked.

- Yeah, sure! In fact I was really thinking if I could call you. He said, which made me feel better.

-Really? How is that? Why didn’t you? I continued to ask.

-I guess I thought that you wouldn’t want to speak to me or maybe you were already sleeping. He said.

- Why would I don’t want to speak to you?  I asked a little cautious.

-Well after today at the beach, I was a little uncomfortable when I saw you and Justin dancing so close together, and as he mentioned before it looks like if he likes you.  He said with a lower tone, which made me feel that the act of remembering Justin dancing with me, really affected him.

- I’m sorry about that Nathan, but you did not even say anything so I could defend myself and what about you and Laura making out, I saw that as well.  I said the last part a little louder than the rest, since it made me feel real upset.

-Making out? Where? When? He asked, like if he really did not remember the kiss Laura gave him.

- When you was coming back to where we was sitting and saw me dancing with Justin you stop walking and just stood there with her, I really don’t know what did she tell you, but she gave you a kiss really near  your lips if not on them. I replied very angry.

-April, please I really don’t remember the kiss, but if you say she did, then she did, Laura usually wants to protect me as if I still was a kid and she usually calmed me down, making me focus on her and kissing my cheek. He said and sounded convince of it.

-Well Nathan you are not going to believe me, but I think she plan all what happened today, with the intention to take us apart.

-So she made you dance with Justin that is what you want me to think?

- I am not saying so, but please think  about it, you did not ask her to go with us, but she jumped up and wanted to come with us to the beach with her friend you told me that they had some strange relationship going on.  When you decided to go for drinks, she went after you and leave Justin and I behind, and Justin, as she left he started nagging about the music and that we should dance.   I really did not see anything wrong in it, so I accepted.  A little before I saw you watching us, he got closer and when I was going to tell him to stop, you already jumped to your own conclusions.

- What did you want me to think, if I never felt this way before for no other girl, and thought you was playing me.  I told you I’m going to have a talk with Laura, I really don’t think she would do something like this, but if you say things happened the way you explain it, so then maybe you are right.  But can I ask you something?

- Sure Babe, anything Nathan.

- Do you like Justin?

-What’s wrong with you?  I exploded

- Sorry, he said laughing, -that’s not what I was going to ask you, just kidding.

- Glad you feel better to joke, I said smiling.

- Would you please don’t make me feel like that again? Does were the worse hours of my life, not to be able to continue hugging and kissing you, even the ride back home was hell to me, having you so close and not be able to touch you.  Then Justin took your bracelet and kiss you, I don’t even want him to kiss you on your cheeks.

- I know Babe, I don’t want him near either, and that’s another thing, glad you brought it up, that wasn’t my bracelet, it was Laura’s. Think for a while, why would she give him her bracelet saying it was mines, if she did not have a plan to make you jealous and make you hate me?  

- What? She really went through a lot of trouble, she are going to have to explain many things. He conclude.

I told him I really felt better we spoke and that I really did not care anymore if he spoke to Laura or not, but that I did not want her close to him, since I felt deep inside, that she wasn’t protecting him as a brother, that she wanted and desired him as a man.

We spoke a little more and made plans to see each other during the week, then we say good night.

The week went on fast, we saw each other about each other day, always at my house.

Today was Friday and I wanted to surprise Nathan at the store, since we had plans to meet at my place later.

When I arrived at the store, he had already went back into their home, but Laura was still at the store, when she saw me, she looked a little surprise and tired.

I ask her for Nathan and without even hesitating she told me that he had left a message for me with her, which was that his head ached so much, that our plans was canceled and to please don’t call until he called me.

Of course, I did not believe her.
