When we emerged from the translocation void, a warm breeze greeted us shortly before four arms wrapped around my waist. “Mama!” they cried out, and I sank to my knees. “Mermerus, Pheres!” I cried. I couldn’t help it. Kide and Vlad had let go of me in my descent to the ground with my sons, but I knew they weren’t far. “Look at you two. You look just as I remember.” They giggled softly. “Well, of course, Mama,” Pheres said, smiling, “We do not age here.” I leaned back and looked at them carefully. There were no spots or blemishes from the poison. Being in the Elysian Fields must be good for their health. “Mama, you have come so far, in such a short time,” Mermerus said, taking one of my hands. He looked so much like Jason that my heart hurt to look at him, but I smiled nonetheless.
