His Scarlet

Chapter Three : Vacation

As the plane landed near the sandy beach of Real Luxury Island Greece, Scarlet could not help but inhale the sea breeze deep and fill up her lungs. She has brought with her best friend Almira. Scarlet and Almira have been best friends since that fateful night.

Almira was the only one who save her from those two persons who made her the kind of woman she is today. Almira have been her confidant and most loyal partner as her Vice Chairman. She knows too well not again to give all her trust.

Almira knows this from the start and she always find ways to earn her trust.

They both have booked the ticket on Real Airlines since it is the only plane who could access the isolated island. Private planes could also land there but limited only and she has no time to book for one, so she grabs the opportunity to get on that plane although it costs a fortune to just be on that flight.

"Great experience is priceless and any amount costs not too much in exchange of comfort and security”. Her father always taught her that all comfort and security have always a corresponding cost. But anyway, money is not an issue to her.

Scarlet have confided to Almira her plans of the “Baby Project”. Almira have been so excited upon hearing of this plan since Scarlet have been aloof to relationship and commitment.

Scarlet feel sorry for her since she knows Almira have been blaming herself of what have happened before. Almira had tried to arrange dates and meetings for her and some of her acquaintances, but nothing could melt her solid ice heart.

“What is our schedule for the day?” Scarlet asked.

“The island is filled with scenic views and cliffs beside the ocean if you would like to jump on one?” Almira jokingly suggested.

“I might like that.” Scarlet teasingly agreed.

From the start of their friendship, Almira have not seen any weakness on Scarlet. Or maybe she is just too perfect on hiding it within herself.

“I wonder, what could scare you? Since we have known each other, I could not think of anything that could scare you. You always treat problems as challenges and you just smile on them. You’re unbelievably fearless!” Almira praised her.

“I think there is one.” Scarlet said.

“And what could it be?” Almira asked inquiringly.

“Myself!”. Scarlet strongly said it out loud, and they both laugh joyously.

As they reached their booked hotel, the hotel manager have informed them that they have been chosen to transfer to a more expensive hotel since the booking have been mistakenly book to another guest and they are full during this season.

The hotel manager humbly apologized and drive them exclusively on the grandest hotel on the island. The manager said that the owner of the Real Lux Hotel has shouldered the expenses since they also own all the hotel in the island, and they want the guest to fully enjoy the island without any stress and problems.

As they reached for their own rooms. They manage to settle their things and rest for a while.

The room that scarlet have occupied have a softly lit bedroom with Greek table ornaments. The curtains are luxuriously complementing the plain but expensive wall painting. The room is neatly arranged and no other brilliant color.

She is a minimalist and she prefer little to no small decorations. Room service have also provided a sweet-scented aroma that she really appreciates.

The hotel staff are commendable for their hard work in inquiring the preference of the guests from the color of the room, the need amenities, the preferred views and the like.

Outside her balcony, she could see the blue green ocean and the busy activities the other guests are enjoying like parasailing, surfing, yachting and kayaking. The bar below also has an ongoing preparation for a beach wedding that undeniably catering obviously rich but simple guests.

Almira have agreed to meet her at the bar at five in the afternoon to enjoy the view before having supper by the bar below. Scarlet have been working even on flights to settle all loose ends in her company to enjoy a three-month vacation that she granted herself after eight years of studying and working nonstop.

Dressed in an elegant lacy white backless boho short dress, a pair of bohemian sandals and limited issue original Bali rattan bag, Scarlet get ready to head to the island bar. She wants solitude so she let Almira just come with her for a week to take her vacation also, but after tonight they will be on their own. Almira will have to enjoy her own vacation also.

She spotted Almira waiving at her, wearing a stunning yellow maxi dress paired with silver clutch and an expensive sandal.

Sometimes she laughs at her for really trying so hard to fit-in in the royal world. She always told her that rich people don’t have to impress anybody since they know within themselves that they are superior. Rich people prefer simplicity and comfort rather than unnecessary lavishly outfit.

She does know that Almira have an abusive mother and that her stepdad tried to r**e her at a young age. They live in a poor community, but Almira is a simple but a very good-mannered lady. No vices, no flow, no issue. And she respects it if Almira don’t speak much of herself, in respect to avoid any untoward memory flashing back at her mind.

They agreed to get a peach flavored refreshment and a healthy vegan sandwich. The waiter has smiled handsomely to Scarlet upon giving their ordered food.

“You know, sometimes I hate you for being so simple, yet you get all the guys’ attention”. Almira said teasingly.

“I already to you, I am not interested anymore in any romantic ideals. I lived past that. And I’ve learned my lessons. I am only searching for a guy who could give me the best gift I could have in my life. After that me and my son or daughter will live happily together” Scarlet interjected smiling cheerfully just imagining the tiny bundle of joy she will cherish forever with all her heart.

Without their knowledge, a pair of gray hooded eyes was studying their conversation.
