Chapter Seven : Matthew and Mia's Confrontation

Mia have been busily preparing for the event that would take place that afternoon. This occasion must be flawless. As she personally attended the details of the wedding from food to decorations to seating arrangement. She needed to be focused. She needed to impress and prove her worth and to give justice to the decision of Mr. Lee for entrusting her the most important occasion in the island history.

As she instructed the waiter, someone appeared unexpectedly from behind. Mia was speechless and shockingly dropped her jaw upon seeing in person the man she avoided for eight years.

“Should I congratulate you for your new position or should I congratulate you for destroying my life?” Matthew asked sarcastically.

Mia ignored him and continuedly give instruction to other waitresses.

“Mia, will you forever avoid me and forget what happened to us eight years ago?” Matthew said in a firm voice.

“Matthew, I have the most important job right now. If you want some questions, I am willing to answer them later. For now, please leave me alone and let me do my job!” Mia asked humbly with her eyes filled with unshed tears to avoid further humiliation as people are starting to notice their argument.

“Okay, I’ll leave you for now. But whatever happens, I will not leave this island until I got the truth from your mouth.” Matthew warned and left her before she could utter a word.

Mia finally must face her greatest fear that she has been avoided for eight years. The truth for what happened eight years ago.

As she has known Matthew from the past. She knows that Matthew put his words to action. She needs to clear her mind and must give Matthew his needed explanation.

As Mia concentrated in her task. She suddenly felt the urge to turn around only to face the cold stare coming from Scarlet’s hazel eyes.
