Chapter 10 the party

The dignitaries from the other wolf packs began arriving for the twins' birthday party. Alpha and Luna Summers from the Nightshade Pack, Alpha and Luna Waters of the River Pack, Alpha Michael from the Blood Rose Pack, and more.

Representatives from all 35 packs have arrived. Mostly Alphas, but some Betas have come in their alpha's place.

The twins, Andrew and Nathan, entered, acting their usual playful selves.

"Andrew! Nathan! Act your age," scolded Alpha Rodger.

"Yes, Nathan, act your age," chided Andrew. "Yes sir, future Alpha sir," Nathan replied, garnering a giggle among the younger guests.

None of the arriving guests knew that the boisterous new Alphas have found their mate. The majority of them are hoping that their daughter will be the next Luna of the Stonebridge Pack, with the exception of two: The Crescent Moon and Harvest Moon Packs.

The Crescent Moon and Harvest Moon Packs have long been rivals of both the Moonstone and Stonebridge Packs, both of which now fall under the leadership of Lady Caroline Elizabeth Roberts Chase as of tomorrow.

Andrew and Nathan mingled amongst the guests, ensuring to thank each and every one of the pack Representatives for coming to celebrate with them.

When the twins turned to greet Alphas Nick and Soren of the Crescent Moon and Blood Rose packs, they were greeted with an unexpected question: "Where might the future Alpha Lady Caroline be? This is her party as well, yes?"

"She should be joining us shortly," they replied. "I guess you've heard the news then," asked Andrew suspiciously.

Alpha Nick, the most handsome of the single Alphas, if it were not for the fact that he was missing an eye, replied, "News, what news?"

Andrew and Nathan, having a quick telepathic conversation, decided that it was okay to spill the beans about Caroline being their Co-Alpha and Queen of the werewolves.

"Co-Alpha, you say," responded Alpha Soren, ignoring the Queen part of the statement for the moment. "Is that possible? I have never heard of such a thing before and I've been around for over two hundred years. This Caroline must be something pretty special."

On that note, Andrew said, "enjoy the party. We must not be keeping our other guests waiting."

When the twins turned and headed toward another guest, the brothers Nick and Soren began to have their own conversation.

"Hmm," Soren began, " Our little package is even more than we thought. Not only can we take over the King's Pack but this one as well." "We need to leave so that we can reconsider how to execute our plan now that we have this new information."

They then turned to find the Alpha and Luna Chase (step 1 establishing an alibi).

"Alpha Rodger, Luna Margaret, what a lovely party you are throwing," Nick stated. "We have immensely enjoyed your hospitality but we must be heading out. We truly appreciate you inviting us to share this special day with you even though we disagree about everything."

"Come now Nick, let's not ruin a good time," said Soren.

"We are glad that you were able to come. Thank you."

"Those two are up to something, I can feel it in my bones," Alpha Rodger whispered to Margaret. "Don't you agree?"

Luna Margaret, with a pang of guilt, agreed with Alpha Rodger.

Meanwhile, Andrew asked Nathan, "Do you think that we should go check on Caroline? She was supposed to be here so that we could make the announcement together."

Nathan replied, "I think that we should give her some space. She has had a lot of information thrown at her all at once on top of finding out that we are her mates. Besides, can't you feel the mate bond? She is feeling pretty anxious. Mother told me that Vixen had blocked Caroline out completely during our escapade. So, Caroline was pretty startled when she woke up this afternoon. I'm almost positive that the pack on the other side of the mountain could hear Caroline's scream."

"Well, either way, Andrew," said, "I am going to check on our mate and future Alpha Luna. I can't seem to shake this feeling that something is wrong."

"Boys," Alpha Rodger mind linked the twins, "It is almost time for the announcement. Your mother and I want you to go and get Caroline. It is her big day as well."

Without a second glance, Andrew and Nathan dashed across the field towards the packhouse, and in true twin form, you could hear, "I'll bet you five dollars that I will beat you there. Deal?" Without missing a beat Nathan replied, "Deal!" and took off without warning.

"That's cheating!" cried Andrew. "Only because you didn't do it first," laughed Nathan.

The two twin Alphas stopped in their tracks when they heard a stern reprimand from their father in his Alpha voice.

"Yes Alpha, we will," is all that was heard from the boys again until they got to the packhouse.

"Alpha Rodger," Luna Margaret said, "Don't be too hard on the boys, darling. It is not every day that you become an Alpha and find your Goddess-given mate all at the same time. They are just trying to process it all in their own quirky way."

"I know, Dearest Margaret. I just want the rest of the packs to see them as mature enough to lead this pack."
