A cacophony of colors dancing, . . . An whirlwind emotions and sensation, . . . The feeling of unfamiliar limbs, beating of hea‐ ¤¤¤ I snapped my eyes open at the all too familiar feeling of life. The feeling of blood rushing through my veins, the breath catching in my chest, and the awareness that I was alive, once again. The surroundings blurred as my senses adjusted to the awakening, and a sense of disorientation still lingered. I lay there, my gaze fixated on the swaying leaves above, each one a distinct shade of green against the canvas of the sky. The greenery forest whispered ancient secrets, and for a moment, I lost myself in the symphony of nature. As the initial haze lifted, fragments of memories danced at the periphery of my mind. Faces, places, and emotions flickered like ethereal flames, teasing me with their elusive presence. But like a vanishing dream, the harder I grasped, the more they slipped away. A rogue, I realized I was a rogue, just as the scent of the wilderness enveloped me. The realization brought a peculiar mixture of freedom and uncertainty. Rogues are lone wolves who don't belong to any pack. They operate independently and some often appear feral. Their solitary existence is frequently rooted in a traumatic history or the painful rejection from their intended soul mates. They sometimes move in large groups raiding packs with only one thought in their head– to cause chaos, like the taste of blood and the sounds of cries gives them joy. They are dangerous with no single thread of their humanity, and only move on instincts. Amid the darkness, a few cling desperately to fragments of their sanity. I pushed myself up, staggering a bit before standing upright. The feel of the grass under my feet was a little different. They felt ticklish and loved it a lot better than my past rebirth. I had woken up to my back bare while being flogged by my mate, and it was an awful experience. "Ohhhhh!" I screamed on top of my lungs, trying to know how my voice sounds and it is beautiful. But I guess treading carefully is best for now till I get caught and dragged to my mate, which I'm dreading at the moment. In this relentless cycle of rebirth, I've journeyed through diverse werewolf lives within numerous pack lands – shifting roles from Alphas to Omegas and Betas. Yet, the haunting constant remains: the painful sting of mate rejection. Boundless pains and torments have defined my existence. Mates seeking me as a mere bed warmer, desiring me solely as a baby factory, or keeping me for their dark desires without genuine affection. Despite the learned lessons from these ordeals, a frustrating loophole persists. Each time, I succumb to the hope of acceptance, only to be broken, tortured, and met with empty words that attempt to mask their cruel actions. It's a repetitive pattern – a desperate yearning for connection followed by an unrelenting cycle of rejection. Instead of claiming me, they choose to end my existence, perpetuating this agonizing loop of rebirth and heartache. I've even lost count of my reincarnation I moved my legs through the forest, taking in the beauty of the world before the unyielding suffering that's yet to come. I heard a nearby running river and decided to go take a swim. At this point in my other lives I'm either swimming in my mates lies, or bent and broken, and begging at his feet. On reaching the river, I crouched at the side to see my reflection. The moving water creates an obscuring figure but enough to make out my looks. I see my green eyes widening in astonishment, my supple red lips and the most noticeable fact one can't help but notice was my very pale skin, I looked almost white. I smiled at myself and I saw a dimple show on my cheeks, my long red auburn hair flailing as movement of the blowing wind. No red marks, marred skin, scarred body, broken bones, none of that …yet, just a normal, untainted body. I came to a thought to test my new body as I closed my eyes, held my breath and let myself fall into the river, feeling it take me deep into it. Memories come and go but I didn't care, I was in no rush to know who I am. Laughters, distant echoes of pain and death, and faces I couldn't quite grasp were like fragments yet found solace in the watery haven. I emerged from the surface of the river with my body still fully immersed in it, feeling the currents beneath me. The cool air kissed my skin, and with a purposeful stroke I began to swim, feeling the water like a second skin. The Moonlit water glistened with each stroke, and I thanked the Moon for its guidance and well…covering my naked body. Even if I'm in the water, I still feel a sense of relief to be camouflaged by the dark. I swam and swam under the Moonlight tender glow till I got tired, with my body posed like I'm dead, my breathing languid, any danger lurking could easily get me now, but I couldn't care any less with the so silent river guiding me to the unknown. "Who goes there!" A thick and boisterous voice said, and my blood froze in fear. I tried to be silent by submerging my whole body into the water yet I heard a menacing growl prompting me stifle a yip of terror. As I desperately clung to silence, a powerful hand seized me, dragging me out, and reflexively, I kicked out in self-defense. The grip loosened with a pained groan from the assailant, and I seized the opportunity to break free, this brought a wave of déjà vu but didn't have the time to ponder as I took flight. I heard a very loud growl throughout the forest and that made my body shook at the threat. I didn't know this body all too well, but I instinctively imagined myself as a wolf and in mid air I shifted into a white one. I ran as fast as my little legs could carry me, the moon's ethereal glow acting as light illuminated my path as I sprinted through the forest, the pursuer hot on my tail. Zigzagging through the trees, I aimed to confuse, till I was sure there was a good amount of distance between us before slowing down for a bit. I was aware I should be running if nothing in any of my past lives had taught me it was– Just keep running, never stop to help, and never trust anyone. NEVER. Arriving at the edge of a hill, I momentarily paused, enchanted by the moon's radiant beauty, once again. Reality brought me back when a twig snapped, and I resumed my escape, the pounding of my heart synchronized with the rhythmic drumming of paws behind me. Doesn't he tire I have to find a place to hide Cave. I saw a cave ahead, and I was thrilled at the sight. Racing towards it when a body crashed into mine, I was forced to turn back to my human form as I struggled to break free from the attacker. "Stop it now." The commanding voice said, and my body immediately came to a pause, didn't realize my eyes were still closed until I opened them. Our gazes wide and mouth slightly agape in surprise as we both whispered realization, "Mate."
