CHAPTER 27 Catherine's fire met the silvery winds just in time. It rushed out of her fingertips in a flash of beaming power so hot it melted the leaves off the nearby trees and charred the grass directly under them to blackened embers. The force of the opposing fae was so great that Catherine, in her weakened state, wasn't sure how long she could fight it. Her fire blazed in the magic wind. It gave the illusion of superior strength, but the fire never reached her enemy because somehow the fae's magic was shooting it back at her. The silvery wind was like nothing she'd ever imagined.
