The armed figures moved with military precision through the facility's corridors. Marcus stood at the window, watching them establish perimeter positions around every exit. His mind raced through calculations that had nothing to do with science and everything to do with survival. "How many?" Sophie asked, her tablet displaying security camera feeds from throughout the building. "Twenty-three that I can see. Probably more in vehicles outside." Dr. Kim was frantically checking her communication devices. "They've jammed all signals. We can't call for help, can't warn Victoria and Amanda, can't contact the other enhanced individuals." Aria moved to Marcus's side, her hand finding his. "What do we do?" Before he could answer, the facility's intercom crackled to life. "Dr. Marcus Webb."
