Chapter 14 - sprained right leg
ELAINE'S POV
It was early dawn when I opened my eyes, and I could hear birds singing outside our room. I carefully pushed myself out of bed. As my mind is still not fully awake, I gaze about the room.
While I continued to look at the empty space, the door unexpectedly opened, surprising me, and I glanced to see who had entered. It was none other than Duke Hayes who arrived with a platter of food.
"Good morning Elaine, you're already awake, I brought you your breakfast for this morning," he said as he moved towards the bed with a tray in his hand.
As he approached, I could smell the delectable scent of the food in the air as he brought it towards me, making my empty stomach growl like a beast that hasn't fed in days.
