My heart was racing a mile with each beat. Our close proximity was making my body stiff. I was afraid that if I move, our bodies might touch. I could feel the tension between us. I was laying on the edge of the bed.
“Relax, I am not going to bite you, Seline.” I heard him saying in a deep and low voice.
I stiffened upon hearing his words. He could observe my discomfort.
“No, I am fine. You can go back to sleep.” I said without facing him.
“Do you really think I can catch sleep when my mate is so close to me and yet I can’t hold her close. Believe me, it is the hardest battle I am fighting right now.” He responded.
His voice was thick and laboured and I had a little to imagine how difficult it was for him to restrain himself but he was doing his best.
