Chapter One

992 Words
This was all Cara had ever wanted. It was her dream wedding, the big day every girl dreams of. The day she finally marries her Prince Charming. The man that saves them, the man that makes them the most happiest person in the world... And Cara was more than ready. A beautiful elegant white laced gown with the perfect veil to match, her hair covered with bright blue flowers and a gorgeous bouquet in hand. Cara could feel the butterflies dancing around in her stomach as she was walking down the aisle to her handsome husband. Expectantly waiting for the moment when he turns around and beams that gorgeous smile of his. And then her alarm clock rings... With a slight groan Cara reaches over and turns off the alarm, Still basking in the vivid visions she's been receiving. The most recent ones have been putting her in a good mood. Being the packs Viewer is a hard thing, or at least she learnt from watching Nana Mimi that it sometimes took its toll. Let's just say it has it's ups and downs... Nana Mimi would always say 'You need to have a tough mind and strong will to be a viewer.' Although Cara is still getting used to her recent powers she has been progressing very quickly according to her Nana. But with Nana being sick of late there have been fewer lessons for Cara. And recently with Cara's new visions coming in a lot more vivid and frequently she could really use the lessons and help to understand what it might mean. She gets dressed for the day and makes her way downstairs, her mother, Holly, is cooking and her father, Peter, is reading the paper. Cara always loved mornings like these, a nice family breakfast before everyone starts their days. "Good morning Sweetheart, sleep well?" Her mother asks as Cara pours herself a cup of coffee. "Mhmm" "Have any more of those visions of the future husband?" Her mother giggles and winks Rolling her eyes Cara laughs a little "Yeah... I can't wait for one that's so vivid I finally get to see his features, but for now its just a sexy silhouette" Holly laughs and places a plate full of hot food on the table. "I've made omelettes this morning, per your father's request. Speaking of... Pete put the paper down and eat before it gets cold." Without hesitation Peter starts to fold his paper up and Cara starts dishing up her breakfast. She absolutely adored her parents relationship, even though he was an Alpha her mother new how to keep him in line. "Cara, go fetch your brothers before you eat." "But Dad, I'm sure their grown enough to use their noses..." Cara sighed but the look her father gave her meant he didn't have time for backchat. She quickly got up to go get her brothers, They were certainly all old enough to know how to get themselves to the breakfast table. Cara knocked on each door and then yelled "Breakfast, Losers!" as she spun as quick as she possibly could to try and beat them back to the kitchen. But unfortunately being the youngest in the pack meant that there was no way she could out run her brothers, even if she had a whole mile head start. The wind was almost taken out of her as her eldest brother Mark picked her up and swung her around back to where she had started, ruffed up her hair and then sprinted. Victor and Alex just bolted past like she was merely wind. When Cara reaches the table her brother's are almost finished, they stuff their faces like they haven't eaten in years! Man the poor women that end up with these pigs... Peter clears his throat and the room falls silent waiting for the instructions for the day. "We have a busy schedule today, Mark you'll be on perimeter duty and that goes for Westlong creek as well" A little glare is shot to Alex who lowers his head in shame. "We need to make sure the fences are sturdy and that there are no breaches." Mark nods and continues to eat. "Victor my boy, you'll be coming with me on the hunt. Them damned foxes have been crossing over into our territory and they need to be dealt with." You could see Alex shrink in his chair even more at the mention of his mistake, as Victor smirks at him. "Alex, I need you to go help the Pertellies with their roof. They have a small leakage that needs to be fixed before we get any more rainfall." "And you Cara, I hope you'll be focusing on school today?" He questions Cara with an expectant look. She can feel Victor's smug face staring at her. Cara isn't included in the packs work because she may or may not be seen as unreliable... Which she was fine with, it meant she had more time for her friends and especially more time to find her mate.   "Yes Dad, I'll be attending all my classes this week." "Good, because if you miss one class... You'll be helping Mrs.Treylon with the stocks." Before Cara could protest her father stood up and said "Let's get a move on." Victor shoves past Cara on his way out to the garage and Cara retaliates with poking her tongue out. Mark turns and says "Hurry up, I'll have the car running." and heads outside with Alex in tow. Cara quickly helps her mother clear off the table and stack the dishes before she goes to leave. "Cara before you go, I made you lunch today. I noticed you haven't been eating very well." Her mums eyes study hers looking for an answer "Thanks Mum, and I'm eating heaps. I just wasn't hungry this morning." She quickly hugs her mum and then leaves before Mark can yell at her for taking too long.
